1 Year Of Beginning

The park itself was large and it would take a long time for them to finish circling the park. However, Feng Mian was not in a hurry. She didn't have anything to do today, so she wanted to enjoy herself to the fullest.

Zhang Liang didn't seem to be in a hurry either. Even though he always looked like he needed 30 hours per day because of his workload, he seemed to be very peaceful today. He walked at her pace leisurely, seemingly unbothered that this would waste a lot of time he could use to work.

"Brother Liang."

"Yes?"

"Don't you have to finish your work?" Feng Mian decided to ask. It was still morning, so the temperature was not that hot yet. However, it would be lunch time soon.

Zhang Liang shrugged. "I can finish them all later. Besides, many of the projects have just concluded and only need further observation. There shouldn't be any need for me to meddle in it for the time being."

"Oh."

"Do you enjoy today's outing?"

Feng Mian tilted her head. She wondered why Zhang Liang seemed to be so curious about it. "Well, it'll be better if the food is not steak. Also, I don't really like high end restaurants."

When they entered the restaurant, Feng Mian felt oddly out of place. Even though many people were wearing casual clothing, she could see that they were all rich people. Their bearing was completely different. She was still not used to this world where so many people were among the list she could never offend.

Zhang Liang blinked his eyes. "I see."

Feng Mian looked at Zhang Liang worriedly. She knew that she needed to act for the next 10 months. However, she also felt uncomfortable in his world. Everything didn't seem to match her, making her feel weird.

"Sorry."

"I won't force you to enter my world," Zhang Liang said slowly. "Unless it's necessary, you won't be pulled in."

Feng Mian blinked her eyes at Zhang Liang's words. Was this truly the same demanding demon that she knew in her work. When he first came to her and talked to her, she had realized how much of a demanding person he was. After all, he was hoping she could match with his world so quickly.

But then, he also began to match up with her pace, taking everything slowly.

This invoked a strange feeling inside her heart. He had become much more considerate lately. She thought that he would ask her to do whatever he wanted because in this contract, she was the one at disadvantage. However, he didn't do any of that.

Even though at first he was very demanding and difficult, he slowly let her keep up as he slowed down and also began to do the acting. He was polite and respectful to her, never crossing the line at all and let her be comfortable just by staying with him.

"Don't think about work here."

"En."

The two of them stayed silent. Only the sound of faint footsteps could be heard as they continued to walk on the road. The wind blew lightly, slapping their cheek in a playful manner.

Time passed swiftly.

"It's already time for lunch. Since you don't want to eat in a restaurant, do you have any preferences for meals?" Zhang Liang asked.

Feng Mian arched her eyebrows, didn't expecting the question to escape Zhang Liang's lips. She scanned her surroundings before her eyes locked on a restaurant across the park. The brand was known for having so many chains in different cities. She had eaten in that restaurant once before and enjoyed it very much.

"Can we eat there?"

Zhang Liang followed Feng Mian's finger and nodded. "Sure."

"Should we return to the car or…?"

"We're going to cross the road. There's traffic lights and crossroads over there."

"Ok."

There were not many people who were walking at this time of the day. Many of them also preferred to use the car. When the traffic lights turned red for the car, they began to walk.

All along, Zhang Liang never let go of Feng Mian's hand as they walked across the streets and entered the restaurant.

As they entered, Feng Mian's eyes widened at the charming decoration. The place was much bigger compared to the one in City F and also had much more tables ready.

"Welcome," the staff greeted with a smile. "How many people?"

"Two," Zhang Liang replied.

"Please come over here."

They were led to the side where there was an empty table and chairs. The two of them sat down before the employee showed the menu to them. She smiled brightly. "Today's special is Steamed salmon and a veg rice bowl. It's very delicious."

Feng Mian's eyes lit up. Her favorite fish meal has always been salmon and since she had been eating in this restaurant a few times for the past few years, she knew that they handled fish well.

"I'll have one then."

"Me too."

Both Feng Mian and Zhang Liang ordered a few other dishes. Zhang Liang was studying Feng Mian's expression. Her happiness when she heard about the special dish didn't escape his eyes.

"Do you like salmon?"

"Yes!" Feng Mian almost said it out loud. She quickly pushed her feelings down and smiled sheepishly. "Salmon can be really good if it's cooked properly. If not, then there'll still be a lot of fish smells."

Zhang Liang nodded. "I'll ask Chef Lu to prepare Salmon tomorrow."

Feng Mian's eyes lit up. "Thank you!"

"It's nothing."

Zhang Liang smiled lightly. Seeing Feng Mian so happy, he felt happy too. It was as if he was treating her as his own family members and not just a person he contracted because of work. He had to say that it was strange, though.

She kept on invading his life. Even though he had kept a distance from her, she was still coming closer and closer. And he didn't dislike this feeling at all.

"Thank you for waiting."

The staff returned with two bowls of rice and salmon. Seeing the food, Feng Mian's eyes lit up in excitement. She felt hungry and wanted to eat the food right away.

Zhang Liang looked at her and smiled to himself. Occasionally should be fine, right?
