Zhang Liang drove to his residence after he received confirmation that everything was safe. Feng Mian was curious as to who he called, but she could guess that it must be his bodyguards. She had never truly seen him before, but she knew that they were protecting her husband in secret.

"Master! Are you alright?" Butler Lou opened the door as fast as possible when Zhang Liang went home.

Zhang Liang nodded. He walked to the other side of the car and opened the door for Feng Mian. This time, she was quick enough to open her own seatbelt. She didn't want to let Zhang Liang did it.

"Has the doctor arrived?"

"Yes. He's in the living room."

"Good."

Feng Mian looked at Zhang Liang. "I'm fine."

"I need to check if you suffer any concussion. I believe that it's the first time you've ever gotten into a car accident."

Feng Mian merely pursed her lips. She walked inside and let the doctor did a checkup on her. Meanwhile, Zhang Liang called Secretary He to suppress the news. Since his car was badly damaged, there would be no way that the reporters let this slide.

He wanted to minimize the exposure for now until the investigation was conducted thoroughly. His men were currently interrogating the people they managed to capture alive from the cars that they stopped not long ago.

"How is she, Doctor?"

"She's fine," The Doctor replied. "Aside from a little shock because of the experience, there's no wound on her body. She might only need to rest because her adrenaline has been pumping out through her body. It'll turn normal after having some rest and relaxing."

Feng Mian rolled her eyes. It was normal that the adrenaline flowed through one's body when they were doing intense things. She had learned from the biology class how they would work and so on. Considering that her life was in danger just now, it was not weird that the adrenaline was pumped out faster in her body.

Zhang Liang nodded. "Good."

"Should I check on you too, Mr. Zhang?"

"No need."

Zhang Liang was familiar with this doctor. He had been serving in Zhang Family ever since his father separated himself from the other Zhang's. Based on the light smirk on the doctor's face, he was sure that his father would surely hear what happened today.

He just had to be prepared for his father's thorough teasing when he met with the latter sometime in the future.

Butler Lou walked in with three glasses of water. He placed the tray on the table. "Madam, please have a drink."

"Thank you."

Feng Mian sipped the water while Butler Lou handed the other two glasses to the doctor and Zhang Liang. The Doctor was looking at Feng Mian curiously. He had heard that Zhang Liang got married, but this was the first time he had ever seen her face.

Unlike what Zhang Xue told him before, Feng Mian didn't look like she was an ordinary woman. Even after experiencing the near death situation, she still kept her composure. He had checked her pulse, which meant that he knew her breathing was a bit erratic due to fear. However, her expression on the outside was exceptionally calm.

She didn't show what she truly felt inside at this time.

"Boss, we have already gotten the information. They're from Snake Gang whose activities are mostly centered in City D. They come here because there's a huge sum of money offered if they could injure you."

Zhang Liang frowned. There were a lot of underworld organizations to the point that he could not remember them all. Many only formed for a while then disappeared because of dispute and so on. Snake Gang was not famous here, so he was unfamiliar with them.

They tried to record the conversation, but the voice was too low. They would need to upgrade their equipment first.

"Do you know how many people come here?" Zhang Liang asked.

"They sent around 20 people to chase after you, Boss. We managed to capture three, but only one talked in the end. The Wind Team hadn't contacted us yet, they said that they wanted to meet with you to talk about the result."

"Meet?"

"Yes."

Zhang Liang looked in Feng Mian's direction. He was not sure whether he should introduce her to the dark side of the world where many undercover investigations occurred. The world was not as peaceful as it was on the surface. There were many attacks that occurred each day but most of them would not reach the citizens ears.

"What is it?" Feng Mian asked when she saw Zhang Liang stared at her.

"Do you want to hear the report too?"

Feng Mian blinked her eyes. She had never thought that Zhang Liang was willing to share his undercover investigation with her. After all, it must be a secret because sometimes, they also needed to do shady dealings. Those prominent figures wouldn't be able to stand without having to get involved with the black market or underworld.

Even if their involvement was minimal, it was mostly to ensure their safety and those around them.

"Are you sure?"

"One of the representatives of the team will come here soon. They're going to present the report of the investigation."

"So quick?" Feng Mian was astonished. There was not even an hour passed after the attack and they have already finished their investigation? She could not believe that it would be so fast.

Zhang Liang chuckled. It was normal to be this fast because they would begin to make their move even before the attack concluded. They have to make sure of their client's safety and also conduct an investigation to find out who was responsible for the attack.

Of course, Zhang Liang wouldn't tell her that he had actually borrowed the talented soldiers of this country. Some of them used to be his comrades back when he was in the military and the rest was people that he hired to protect her. The General was also angry when they were dispatched back then.

"It's not too quick. So, do you want to hear?"

"Yeah."

Feng Mian replied. Since she wanted to stay with him, she also wished to see his other side. Her eyes were staring straight at Zhang Liang with a clear gaze.

"Alright."

Taking out his phone, Zhang Liang texted the leader of the Wind Team that they could come to his mansion. The way they came here was up to them. They could come covertly or brazenly. He had already informed his guards that they would have some guests coming.

While waiting, Butler Lou brought out gr.a.p.e fruits and placed it on the table. He looked at Feng Mian. "You might not be able to eat lunch yet, so try to eat fruits little by little."

Three people walked inside wearing civilians' clothes. Zhang Liang immediately noticed that they were wearing hats and skin masks on their faces. "Are you the leader of Team Wind?" Zhang Liang asked directly.

The man at the front nodded. "I'm the leader, Mr. Zhang. I'll give you the report of our investigation."

Feng Mian was staring at the three people in front of her. Her hand that was stretched to take the gr.a.p.e halted when she saw the captain's gaze. His dark brown eyes were very familiar to her.

When he began to talk, Feng Mian rose from her seat. Before anyone could react, she stood before the leader and her hand slapped his face.

PLAK!

"You!" the man behind the leader was about to shout in anger, but his leader raised his hand to block him.

Feng Mian looked at the captain as tears began to stream out of her eyes. She shouted, "WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL THIS TIME, GEGE?"
