Long Ying looked at the door with his silver eyes. His lips curled up into a smile. "How unexpected that my woman is actually your woman's best friend, Liang."

"I should be the one saying that," Zhang Liang replied calmly. He looked at Long Ying. "I thought that the two of us can live our separate lives without interfering with each other, but it seems impossible with this condition."

"I stand by my word before. Dragon Clan will never make things difficult for you."

"I'm the same. The military won't interfere too much as long as you don't go overboard."

Zhang Liang didn't really want to have a chat with Long Ying if it was unnecessary. The two of them had met during his time serving in the military because the military was chasing after him. They were seen as criminals that have to be apprehended because of their doings.

Yet at the same time, the authorities didn't really put their best effort and only sent a weaker team to chase after Dragon Clan.

Through coincidence, Zhang Liang met with Long Ying when the latter was wounded. He could have just handed him to the authorities, but at that time, Zhang Liang wanted to make a deal. He might be part of the military, but he still valued his family and his own life. Since Dragon Clan focused in the capital city, it was also the place where he stayed most of the time.

Zhang Liang helped out Long Ying to return back and the two of them agreed to never bother with one another. Dragon Clan will never accept any request that was related to Zhang Liang's family, but that didn't extend to his far relatives since Zhang Liang himself didn't care. Zhang Liang will use his connection in the military to make it easier for Long Ying to stay there without the need to worry.

Of course, Long Ying shouldn't act overboard.

Long Ying nodded. "I want another thing too. Make sure that your little wife never got hurt. I don't want my woman sad because you didn't take care of her well."

Zhang Liang arched his eyebrows. "Even without you saying that, I will surely do it. Though, I want to ask the same to you."

"Heh, I'll be fine on my own. As if I'll let anyone touch my woman."

Even though Zhang Liang knew that the underworld was more complicated, he didn't have any interest to pry deeper. He merely looked at Long Ying. "I won't let you off if you make my wife's sad, so you better keep that in mind."

Long Ying smirked. "You know that I have the same opinion, right?"

"Indeed."

The laughter from the room interrupted their conversation. It was clear the two of them have fun with each other. The two men could only sigh helplessly. They couldn't get along with one another because of their difference, but they needed to tolerate each other's presence.

At the very least, when their women were visiting each other.

Yu Yan walked out first. She smiled when she saw the two of them. "Ying, I want to go back to work."

Long Ying arched his eyebrows. He shot a glare at Zhang Liang, who merely passed him a cold gaze. Zhang Liang was not involved in this decision at all and Long Ying hated the fact that his woman was working in Zhang Liang's company.

"You can just stay at home…"

"No. I want to work as a designer and make my way to the top," Yu Yan replied firmly.

Long Ying sighed. "Liang, transfer her to your main company in the capital city."

"And you expect me to just agree to your words?"

Long Ying shot a glare. "I'll send you one of my men to help protect your company in the capital city."

"I want two."

"…Fine."

Feng Mian was amused when she saw the two men bickered. She looked at Yu Yan and patted the latter's shoulder. "Heh, become a director or even higher. I'm sure that you'll be able to achieve that position."

"Sure."

Zhang Liang arched his eyebrows. "Are you doubting my people?"

"No, but I just think that Yan'er is great. Sooner or later, she should be able to make it to the top."

"I don't mind. As long as she can prove her work and also make sure that she didn't get involved in the underworld that much."

"Not that much," Yu Yan replied. "Just enough to destroy my so called family that didn't deserve that relationship."

Feng Mian merely listened to their conversation. Little did she know that Yu Yan would thoroughly destroy Yu Family to the point that they would never want to show their face anymore. At the same time, the Bao Family was dragged down from their throne.

But that would be Yu Yan's future that was unrelated to Feng Mian as she was nothing more than a spectator and one person cheering squad watching from the side as the show unfolded.

"Since you two have met with each other, let's go back," Long Ying said and stood up. He looked at Yu Yan. "You're staying with me."

Yu Yan pursed her lips. She noticed that Feng Mian was looking at her amusedly, but she merely shrugged. "Next time, you should share the juicy story. I'll share mine."

"Yan'er!"

"Sure."

"Mian'er!"

The two men felt exasperated when the two women agreed like that. Internally, they agreed to watch their woman's call. Once they called each other, they had to watch what they talked about intently.

Though, their d.e.s.i.r.e would soon die out because Feng Mian and Yu Yan never really chatted about it from their phone.

Feng Mian headed to the car with Zhang Liang. She looked to the back a few times, wondering what would happen to her best friend from now on.

"If you're that worried, you can come to the office again. I'll transfer you too to the capital city's main company."

"Are you sure? It's more of the development facilities, right?"

"The laboratory is indeed in the capital city, but it's not in the same place as the company. Don't worry, you can still come and go to the company any time you want."

Feng Mian nodded. "By the way, I heard that you're cleaning up the company?"

"Yes. I have been cleaning the main company in the capital city. The other companies in other cities will need to wait."

"Oh."

The two of them no longer talked much on their way home. Feng Mian was still thinking about Yu Yan, hoping that her best friend would achieve her own happiness too.

In Zhang Xue's mansion, he was sitting while watching the news. The reporters were reporting that a large number of employees were fired from several Zhang Sweet Companies. They were saying that each of the employees had a bad record that made them unsuitable to work in the company anymore.

Each of them tried to hide their faces when they walked out. They knew that it would be harder for them to find more after this because of their bad track record that they received from this sudden cleanup.

Ring! Ring!

"Yo, Liang. I just watched the news about you firing so many people at once. What makes you suddenly want to clean up?" Zhang Xue asked lazily.

"They're eating up space when they didn't even work properly. Also, are you busy, Xue?"

"Not really. I only supervised the combination that you asked before. However, we haven't found the right composition to make it. I can't understand why you work so hard just to make this kind of layer…."

"I only want to create the best one. Besides, creating a new type of chocolate again might take more time."

Zhang Xue sighed. After this, Zhang Liang planned on creating candies because he felt that their company had been lagging behind when it came to their candies. Even though their chocolate brand was undoubtedly the best, their candies were only average at most.

"Whatever. Why do you call me today?"

"I want to do the experiment directly."
