1 Year Of Beginning

"Oh Liang, you sure take your time," Zhang Xue called out when he saw his brother walking to the dining room. "Did you take her to the room?"

"Yes. She's not feeling well."

Zhang Xue smiled bitterly. Everyone had seen what happened. Considering the time Zhang Liang took to go up and return back, nothing more should have happened though. Still, some people were looking in his direction with clear interest.

However, they were not brave enough to ask him directly since they were not close. It was still his private business after all. 

Leaning in, he spoke to his younger brother. "Are you sure she's fine with your act?"

"I asked her permission first," Zhang Liang replied in a deadpan tone.

Zhang Xue blinked his eyes. "It's rare to see you considerate."

Zhang Liang: "…" are you telling me that I'm usually inconsiderate?

"Anyway, I just hope that you can keep yourself professional unless you truly wish to stay with her forever."

After saying that, Zhang Xue returned back to the room and greeted the elders. Because he turned around almost immediately, he didn't realize that Zhang Liang wore a weird expression on his face. It was clear that he was actually considering what Zhang Xue told him.

Although he and Feng Mian first met due to their situation, the two of them have grown comfortable with each other's presence. Perhaps, it would be worth it for him to consider what Zhang Xue said.

Feng Mian opened her eyes when the sunrays reached her face. She furrowed her brows. From what she remembered, there shouldn't be any sunlight on her room because she always got comfortable sleep each day.

"Mhm."

'I better wash up.'

Feng Mian didn't bother Zhang Liang and headed to the bathroom. She took a quick bath then changed her clothes. When she came out, she saw Zhang Liang sitting up and rubbed his forehead.

"Do you need some sobering tea?" Feng Mian asked. She could ask the room service for that, right?

Zhang Liang waved his hand. "It's fine. I'll take a day off today."

Day off?

After living with Zhang Liang for two months, Feng Mian knew how rare those two words were. Besides, she knew that Valentine's Day is approaching fast. Shouldn't he be busy with the statistic and promotional advertis.e.m.e.nt?

Zhang Liang noticed Feng Mian's bewilderment and couldn't help but smile. Her expression was really cute. "Come here."

"Yes?"

"Sit on the bed."

"Did you drink with Grandpa Zhou last night?"

"No. I was drinking with Mr. Kira. I managed to negotiate a deal with him, so we'll start collaborating by introducing some of my products that's suitable for desserts," Zhang Liang replied.

Mr. Kira owned several restaurant's chain in the entire world. He was interested in the sweet that Zhang Liang had been producing, but he hoped that he could get the type that could be part of the dessert menu. Because of that, Zhang Liang would be repackaging some of the sweets and also began to create a new menu.

Feng Mian's eyes widened. "Does it mean the design department have to work on two designs at once?"

"Three," Zhang Liang replied. "There's another request. That's why there are several teams and each of them will work in a different field."

"Will I…"

"No, I plan on using the other team."

"Oh."

Zhang Liang noticed that Feng Mian was down. He chuckled. "Take a few days' break first. I might be asking you for different work. Besides, aren't you trying to start being an artist?"

"I still haven't even got my first commission," Feng Mian replied.

"Try to upload more pictures. I'll help you set up the page again later."

Feng Mian stared at Zhang Liang in confusion. She had the feeling that he seemed to be kinder towards her. Even though she hadn't asked him anything, he was the one who first offered to help in this and that. It puzzled her greatly as to why he would want to.

"Is there anything that you want, Mian'er?"

"Uh, I think no?" Feng Mian tilted her head. "Brother Liang, are you sure you won't be busy?"

"I'll be busy, but it's also thanks to you that I manage to persuade Mr. Kira," Zhang Liang replied. It was not easy for him to have Mr. Kira agree to the cooperation. Even though he would need to have a few more meetings for the concrete plans, they already have the big picture.

Ah, right.

Feng Mian recalled that Zhang Liang told her that he wanted the cooperation with Mr. Kira. She didn't expect that she would have played a role in getting him the cooperation he wanted since she barely did anything but gossiped with Mr. Kira's wife. Well, mostly she was just being a good listener for her since she was not that much of a social butterfly.

"Oh."

Zhang Liang looked at Feng Mian. "I'll be taking you out in a few days' time when I have the time."

"Eh?" Feng Mian hadn't replied yet when she saw Zhang Liang already lying down again, intending to sleep. It seemed that he still experienced a heavy headache, yet he was still speaking so eloquently.

Wait, what did he mean by taking her out?

A date?

Feng Mian's face flushed when she thought of that word. She quickly pushed it to the back of her mind. Coming from Zhang Liang, that should be impossible!

Right?
