"I see…" Yu Yan replied in low voice. It seemed that her little cousin hadn't had it easy all this time. She slowly stepped forward and before Lei Xing Yi could react, she had pulled her cousin to her embrace. The two of them were of similar height, with Lei Xing Yi slightly taller. "You've had it hard Xing Yi."

Lei Xing Yi was surprised. A smile formed on the corner of her lips and she patted Yu Yan's back. "You too."

At this time, both Long Ying and Manager Wu seemed to have come into a tacit understanding as they let the pair of cousins talked their hearts out. They might not know the exact details of things that occurred in Yu and Lei Family. However, they could guess that these two never had it easy in their family.

As for why their biological mothers didn't care for them, it was truly a tragic occurrence..

In Yu Yan's case, her mother only cared for the one who could give her benefit.

In Lei Xing Yi's case, her mother didn't even want to have a child and only think of her as a burden.

Thus, the two of them grew up under the wisest and most cunning person in Kang Family, Kang Shu Jiang. As the old man had just retired from the business world, he started to create a scheme for his two granddaughter to be the one to succeed him in the future while making sure that these two would not have that bad of a childhood.

Long Ying could only think that Kang Shu Jiang was truly a businessman. He was a person who would not make an unprofitable deal.

Yu Yan then moved back from Lei Xing Yi. She turned to look at Manager Wu. "Manager Wu, there's no need to wait for us. We definitely couldn't understand much about the explosive and everything. Could you please be the one to handle it?"

Manager Wu's lips twitched. He had the feeling that these two were only going to wait for the result.

"I'll take care of it." Long Ying had learned a thing or two about explosive from Han Kuai. He looked at Manager. "Manager Wu, shall we start?"

"Alright." Manager Wu knew that it would be dangerous if the two ladies were too close to the site. He quickly reminded them, "Miss Lei, Mrs. Long, could you two please wait in the house until we have finished? It'll be dangerous here."

"Alright."

"I understand."

The two of them agreed right away and made their way to the house. Lei Xing Yi was more familiar with the place and treated it as her own home as she picked the tea leaves there and brewed tea.

"Please take a seat, I'll prepare drink for the two of us."

"Ok." Yu Yan nodded. She thought for a moment before asking, "If Grandfather had planned everything, why did he never tell me about it?"

Lei Xing Yi paused for a moment then sighed. "That's because you don't want to be a businesswoman and Grandfather knew that he wouldn't want to force you. When he decided to make this plan, you're already living in City F and it might be hard to make you be the one to take care of the mines."

Yu Yan thought that her Grandfather already thought of this schemes ever since she was still a kid, but it was actually when she was already an adult? That didn't match up at all! Why did he train her so diligently when she was young, then?

Passing the cup of tea, Lei Xing Yi seemed to be able to guess what was in Yu Yan's mind. "It was not like Grandfather plans for things to be this way. Originally, he wants us to be part of the company owned by his sons so that they can reach the peak, so he trains us in different yet complimentary subjects."

"Something happens?" Yu Yan guessed.

"Yeah." Lei Xing Yi played with the cup in her hand before she sipped the tea. "I don't know the exact matter but I heard that Grandfather had some matters he couldn't accept. In any case, I heard from the Butler that he comes back home in rage because of… his daughters."

Yu Yan blinked her eyes. What could possibly her mother do that makes her Grandfather so angry that he decided to abandon his own daughter? It was often said that a parent cared greatly for their children and shield them even when it was clear that they were the one in the wrong.

But from the schemes that was laid bare in front of them, it was clear that Grandfather decided to abandon both Kang Mao Yao and Kang Mao Lan.

The reason?

She didn't know.

Lei Xing Yi looked at Yu Yan. "I already know the reason in my mother's side, but I don't know yours. However, I would suggest you to try searching about it in your spare time since it might be proven to be useful."

When talking about her own parents, Lei Xing Yi looked a bit more detached. For the past few years, she didn't live with her parents either as she boarded in the dormitory and now that she had graduated, she would move to another place. Not even once she spent her time with her family anymore.

At the same time, Yu Yan could sense the faint coldness that permeated from deep within Lei Xing Yi's heart. It seemed that what she found out about her mother that caused their grandfather to abandon them was something that was unforgivable.

Pursing her lips, Yu Yan nodded. It might be time for her to try digging more about her mother. She never thought of doing that because the one who actively pursued her so far was her little sister.

But maybe, she was still a bit too soft to her parents.

After all, her childhood was one that was very normal. Both of her parents used to love her and care for her until they stopped at a certain point of time. Because of that, Yu Yan could not bring herself to hate her parents completely. 

"Are you going to have a complete fallout with your parents?" Yu Yan asked.

Lei Xing Yi shrugged. "As long as they didn't try to take what's mine, I don't have such plan. They're still my parents."

'You said that, but your voice didn't seem to reflect what you said at all.' Yu Yan's lips twitched, but she didn't say that. She was not that close with her little cousin and the only reason they even talked to each other was because of this mine and the fact that they were playing the game that their grandfather had set for them.

She looked into a distance as loud voice sounded. The ground trembled a bit and there were some exclaims outside. However, it didn't look like anyone was worried about the matter.

"That's…?"

"Do you want to take a look?" Lei Xing Yi asked with a smile and pulled Yu Yan to the window.

Yu Yan nodded and walked closer. In the distance, the place that was supposed to be nothing more than rocks were now opened up and looked like there were wood platform that was already placed there. The platform was partially broken and there were a lot of rocks and woods below.

However, what attracted her the most was the wall beside the wood. It was unclear from this distance but it looked a bit shining as if it was reflecting the sunlight.

Her lips quivered. If it was already clear from this distance that there were a lot of diamonds there, the prices might even reach billions and no longer in millions anymore. It was simply gold mine.

"Xing Yi… that mine is real?" Yu Yan asked and then turned to look at her cousin.

Lei Xing Yi nodded. "We can dig much further in that direction because all the areas belong to me. The share that was given was only the profit share while the ownership actually belongs to me."

"Eh, wait. Why do I not know about this?"

"Previously, Grandfather handed the ownership to Uncle Kang. However, he had promised me that he'll return it back to me when I reach of age." Lei Xing Yi smiled faintly. Her eyes were looking at the front as determination flashed within her pupil. This time, she would not let anyone take what belonged to her and she would strive hard to make sure that she could rebuild what her grandfather had left behind.

Yu Yan glanced at Lei Xing Yi and smiled faintly. She did want to become the best financial manager in the entire country but she didn't want to be the owner of a company. The burden was simply too big.

"I'll build a company. Sister Yan, would you help me?"

Hearing the different address from Lei Xing Yi, Yu Yan turned her head. Should she participate in this?
