Underground bunker (NSC conference room) at Cheong Wa Dae National Crisis Center in Jongno-gu, Seoul.

The National Security Council (NSC) meeting, which had been scheduled for 9:00 p.m., was held one hour earlier at the National Crisis Center due to reports that the Russian Far Eastern Fleet was on its way to Hokkaido.

The purpose of the NSC’s convocation was originally to discuss last night’s report, but the meeting began with the Joint Chiefs of Staff’s report that the Far East fleet’s movements were unusual.

“Was there any notice from the Russian side regarding the Far East fleet?”

Minister Kang Kyung-hee, who has returned from his brief hiatus after being terrorized in Tehran, said.

“Yes, President! We have not received any notification from the Far East fleet.”

“Previously, they also did not give a brief notification when they had training?”

In most cases, it was customary for countries to simply notify each other in the event of extensive training.

“Sometimes, if the training area is far away from our country, they don’t notify us.”

Minister Kang Yi-sik, added.

“Then, Minister Kang, what do you think the Far East fleet’s intent is?”

Prime Minister Lee Youn-yeon asked.

“To keep an eye on things, the Joint Chiefs of Staff are employing all available reconnaissance instruments. We have also prepared a defense strategy. I’ll give you a quick overview.”

Minister Kang Yi-sik was standing next to a large screen that had been installed on one side of the wall where he was standing. Then a large digital map appeared on the screen, with lights on and views of parts of North China, Hokkaido, and Usuri, Russia with various colors and writing styles.

“The current location of the Far East fleet is here.”

Minister Kang Yi-sik pointed to a section of the digital map with a laser point.

“The Far East fleet is now sailing northeast along the southeast coast of Usuji.”

As minister Kang Yi-sik explained, the digital map drew a red line indicating the expected route of the Far East fleet.

“If the Far East fleet’s final destination is Hokkaido, they will change course here and land in Ishikari as the coastline of Ishikari is ideal for landing.”

Minister Kang Yi-sik circled the upper coast of Ishikari with the laser point.

“As for now there are six Hocula destroyers moving north at the highest speed at 20 kilometers west of Matsuma County.”

Minister Kang Yi-sik pointed out the 7th fleet’s current location and expected route.

“If the Far East fleet moves north and changes course toward Ishikari, it will encounter our 7th fleet about 250 kilometers away. If a clash with the Far Eastern fleet occurs, destroyers from the 1st Fleet will attack the Far Eastern fleet’s rear at seven o’clock.”

At the end of the brief briefing, National Security Director Kang Hyun-soo, asked a question.

“I believe we are at a disadvantage in that area where we are expected to have a clash. Is there any countermeasure if there is a sea war and the air force of the Third Air Force is deployed in the geographically close superior area? ”

As a former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Kang Hyun-soo’s question was sharp.

“If it’s not just a sea battle, it’s clear that the Far East fleet will be supported by the 3rd Air Force’s fighter jets and anti-aircraft weapons in Primorsky. If this occurs, fighter jets from the 18th Fighter Squadron in Sakata, Honshu, will launch Primorsky hypersonic anti-ship missiles, and Zeus 1 and 2 will intercept the attack.”

“Isn’t this a skirmish that goes beyond the scope of a local war?”

Prime Minister Lee Youn-yeon asked with a worried look.

“Yes, as I’m also hoping that the fighting will not escalate to this level. We can’t help but expecting everything in this situation, Prime Minister. ”

“I see. I see.”

“For the time being, we’ll keep an eye on the Far East fleet and we’ll proceed with the original agenda.”

President Choo Un-hee convened the NSC meeting and directed it to the next agenda item. This time, National Intelligence Service Director Lee Young-jin stood up and moved to the seat where Minister Kang Yi-sik was briefing.

“The data I’m showing you now is a summary of what happened to Kim Jong-un until he died after waking up from his coma following the bombing.”

After director Lee Young-jin’s words, several secretaries entered the conference room and handed out a document with a top secret mark.

“I did my best to explain it as simply as possible, but because it is a complicated situation, it may not be completely clear. As a result, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.”

Director Lee Young-jin delivered the official statement prior to the briefing, and the briefing began in earnest.

“Please look at the screen first.”

On the screen, many characters were shown in facial photographs and were complicatedly connected to each other. There were figures, but there were organizational organizations in Russia and China.

The briefing, which explained every situation related to Kim Jong- un’s awakening, initially ended two hours later, but it took an additional hour to explain the additional questions.

Three hours later, each member of the NSC’s committee was taken aback by the incredible and unimaginable facts. That’s how surprised everyone was.

“I can’t believe Russia was involved in all of this. Do those jerks think we’ll leave them alone? This is excellent work. We must wipe Russia off the face of the earth at this time under the guise of the Far East fleet. Isn’t that, right?”

North Korea’s Minister of Unification Policy Kim Young-chul, hit the table and expressed his indignation.

To express their feelings, the other members nodded or sighed.

“Russia is Russia, but dealing with those who are guilty of subversion is also important.”

“They should be sentenced to death. Isn’t it possible in the state of emergency?”

Minister Kim Young-chul responded with bright eyes to Chief Secretary Lim Jong- won’s words.

“Dealing with those involved in the state’s overthrow, as stated by Chief Secretary Lim, is critical. As their attempts to destabilize the entire country could have had a negative impact on unified Korea…. Minister Park! What do you believe we should do next?”

The president sought the advice of Minister of Justice Park Bum-tae because he was aware of the gravity of those who committed the crime of overthrowing the state.

“The death penalty has been abolished in South Korea. Even though declaring a state of emergency in the country would allow us to reintroduce the death penalty, doing so would pit not only domestic public opinion against us, but also national public opinion against us.”

“Minister Park! The entire country has been turned upside down, and you’re worried about foreign public opinion?”

“That’s the way things are. Situation ·····.”

Minister Park Beom-tae shrugged off one eye and avoided looking at Minister Kim Young- chul’s displeased response.

“All participants detained by the National Intelligence Service will be transferred to the prosecution soon, so please keep that in your mind Minister Park. And I’ll contact the Attorney General to explain the situation.”

Although the president’s remarks could have been misinterpreted, they should be interpreted as a strong desire for such accidents to never occur again in a unified Korea.

“Yes ”

“One more thing, Director Kang Hyuk!”

“Yes, President!”

Kang Hyuk, who was embarrassed to see the president because of his involvement in the accident, attended the meeting quietly and responded to the president’s call in a depressed tone.

“Alternatively, there might be surviving members in our organization, such as Deputy Director Kim Hyung-chul and Special Investigator Woo Byung-hoo. Take advantage of this opportunity to conduct an internal investigation and get rid of all of them.”

“Oh! Yes. I will definitely conduct an internal investigation.”

Director Kang Hyuk felt a little relieved by the words of the president.

“We will also use all intelligence from the National Intelligence Service and the National Security Agency to order external inspections of the Cabinet, as well as the federal government, Congress, and Senate in each state. ”

The NSC members were surprised by the president’s unconventional remarks and shook their heads and nodded, believing it was an appropriate order.

While the NSC meeting where almost over, a secretary came in with a report from the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

“I’m sorry, but the Chairman of the Joint Staff has given me a critical report. I’ll make contact with him through video call.”

The video was shown on the main screen by the secretary. Then Chairman of the Joint Staff Shin Sung-yong appeared on it.

“Loyalty! This is the Chairman of the Joint Staff. President!”

“Yes, get straight to the point.”

“Yes, the Far East fleet is now sailing at its highest speed, changing its course from 43° 49’59.99″ north latitude to 136° 6’9.76 east longitude.”

The point of change in course was marked as red on the digital map of the divided screen, which was accompanied by a report from the Joint Chief of Staff.

“As expected!”

The Minister of Defense said, narrowing the gap between his eyebrows.

“Are these crazy Russians really trying to take Hokkaido by force?”

The chairman of the Joint Staff answered the Prime Minister’s urgent question in a powerful voice.

“In the current situation, it’s exactly as we predicted, so I’d like to request your permission to proceed with our military operations as planned.”

“Well, Proceed with the pre-arranged plan.”

President Choo Un-hee firmly and unequivocally responded to chairman of the Joint Staff’s request to approve the final operation.

“And there’s one more thing. President!”

“What is it?”

“We have detected suspicious movements of Russian troops on the border, and we are currently checking them.”

“Do you mean the eastern border?”

“The entire border with Russia.”

“The entire border line? ······. The it isn’t just a sea war for Hokkaido, but a war between countries?”

Minister of Government Administration and Home Affairs Kim Soo-gyeom was very surprised and asked the chairman of the Staff.

“I don’t want to jump to conclusions, but one possibility is to put pressure on our navy against the Far East. Second, if there is a clash between the Far Eastern Fleet and our Navy, they might have an invasion plan.”

As the chairman of the Joint Staff stated, all of the committee members’ gazes were drawn to the president. President Choo Un-hee stated confidently, as she was fully aware of this case.

“Chairman of the Joint Staff! I am also a pacifist who does not want to leave the scars of war in our Republic of Korea. But if we can’t avoid it, then we must confront it. ”

Even though she was a female president, her firm and determined remark completely dispelled the notion that there would be some fear of war.

“That’s right. Let’s take this opportunity to blow up those crazy Russians.”

While everyone else was silent and solemn, Minister Kim Young-chul spoke with a smile on his lips.

The president interrupted Minister Kim Soo- gyeom’s attempt to make a dissuasive statement by raising her hand and speaking loudly once more.

“President! Still, ····.”

“No, I’ve been patient with Russia recently. I despise Russia because they were responsible for the terrorist attacks on Minister Kang, the assassination of Kim Jong Un, and the current state overthrow we are facing.”

President Choo Un-hee finally rose from her seat, looked at the committee members and gave instructions as the commander-in-chief of the South Korean military.

“In the event of a fight with the Far East fleet, we will declare war on Russia, deeming it to be illegal military action. But first, I’ll speak with President Putin on the phone. Please connect me with the Embassy in Russia, Minister Kang.”

In response to the president’s ultimatum, the committee members nodded, expressing their inability to disagree.
