Chapter 654: Journey to the West: Zhu Jiumei 13
Outside Chang'an, the sun shines on the ancient city walls, reflecting the vicissitudes of time. Tang Seng, accompanied by Zhu Jiumei, Sun Wukong and Sha Wujing, the four of them slowly walked towards the palace, their figures particularly eye-catching in the bustling crowd.

In Chang'an, the sun shines on the magnificent palace, shining with golden light. In the palace, Emperor Taizong of Tang sits on the dragon throne, looking dignified and expectant.

When Tang Seng and others stepped into the palace, Emperor Taizong of Tang showed a gratified smile on his face.

"Master, I am very pleased to hear that you have figured it out and are willing to travel west to obtain the scriptures!" The hearty voice of Emperor Taizong of Tang echoed in the palace.

Tang Seng clasped his hands together, bowed slightly, and replied: "Your Majesty, after deep thought, I finally understand that this is the great mission of saving the common people and promoting Buddhism. I am willing to go to the West to seek the true scriptures without any trouble."

Emperor Taizong of Tang was overjoyed, his eyes full of admiration: "Master, you have such a great wish, it is a blessing for the world. But before you leave, I hope you can preach the sutras to the people of the Tang Dynasty again to enlighten their wisdom."

Tang Seng readily agreed: "I will do my best to pass on the essence of Buddhism to everyone."

The news spread quickly throughout Chang'an City, and people flocked to the palace, eager to listen to Tang Monk's lectures and to catch a glimpse of this great monk. The square in front of the palace was crowded with people.

Tang Monk climbed up the high platform, his appearance was solemn, his eyes were compassionate and peaceful. He opened his lips and said, "Dear donors, today I will discuss Buddhism with you. Buddhism is boundless and can save the world from all sufferings..."

His voice was clear and loud, full of wisdom and compassion.

The audience was silent, all immersed in Tang Seng's witty words. The sun shone on Tang Seng, as if covering him with a layer of sacred light.

"Everyone has troubles in life. Anger, greed, and obsession are all demons of the mind. Only by letting go of obsessions and having compassion can one be liberated..." Tang Seng's voice was melodious and profound, like the sound of Sanskrit, which spread into everyone's heart.

Everyone listened with fascination, nodding their heads from time to time, and sometimes lost in thought. Some people had tears in their eyes, as if they had found inner comfort in Tang Seng's words; some people showed a look of sudden enlightenment, as if they had solved the doubts that had been bothering them for a long time.

Zhu Jiumei stood in the audience, looking at Tang Seng with admiration in her heart. Sun Wukong was scratching his head and seemed impatient with the lecture, but he also listened quietly. Sha Wujing looked pious and listened attentively.

At this moment, colorful clouds suddenly floated in the sky, and a peaceful light shone down. Everyone looked up in surprise.

I saw Guanyin Bodhisattva stepping on auspicious clouds, holding a willow branch, and appearing in the sky with a solemn appearance. Behind her, the Buddha's light was shining brightly, illuminating the entire sky.

"Amitabha, Tang Monk, your determination to travel west to obtain Buddhist scriptures and spread Buddhism is indeed a great act. I have come to help you in accordance with the command of Tathagata Buddha." The voice of Guanyin Bodhisattva was crisp and ethereal, as if it came from outer space.

Tang Seng quickly stood up, bowed respectfully and said, "Thank you, Bodhisattva."

Emperor Taizong of Tang, his ministers, and everyone else knelt down to pay homage.

Guanyin Bodhisattva glanced at Tang Seng, smiled and nodded, then looked at Emperor Taizong of Tang: "Tang King, this is a grand event to promote Buddhism, and we should fully support it."

Emperor Taizong of Tang said respectfully: "Don't worry, Bodhisattva, I will definitely assist you with all my strength."

Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara said, "The Tathagata Buddha thought your journey was difficult, so he bestowed upon you three treasures. The first is a brocade cassock inlaid with seven treasures, such as wish-fulfilling pearls, Mani pearls, red agate, and purple coral. Wearing it can save you from the cycle of reincarnation. The second is a nine-ring staff, which can protect you from all evil. The third is a golden hoop curse, which can be used to restrain that naughty disciple."

After saying this, Guanyin Bodhisattva handed the treasure to Tang Seng.

Tang Seng took the treasure with both hands and thanked him again.

Sun Wukong watched from the side with envy, scratching his head and saying: "Bodhisattva, what is the purpose of this golden hoop curse? Are you going to use it against me, Sun?"

Guanyin Bodhisattva smiled and said, "Wukong, if you are devoted to Buddhism, this Golden Hoop Curse will not be used on you. But if you become naughty again in the future, this Golden Hoop Curse will make you obedient."

Sun Wukong grumbled and said, "I will never make a mistake again, Bodhisattva, don't worry." Sha Wujing also said, "Bodhisattva, we will protect Master and get the true scriptures."

Guanyin Bodhisattva nodded and said, "This journey to the west is long. You must go through 81 difficulties before you can obtain the true scriptures. You must not give up halfway. You must have firm faith, keep your original intention, and promote Buddhism."

Tang Seng and the others said in unison: "We will follow the Bodhisattva's teachings."

Guanyin Bodhisattva said again: "Donor Zhu Jiumei, you must be careful when traveling west with Tang Monk and his disciples."

Zhu Jiumei bowed and said, "Thank you for your concern, Bodhisattva."

Tang Seng folded his hands again and thanked: "Thank you, Buddha, thank you, Bodhisattva."

Guanyin Bodhisattva then warned: "Tang Monk, the journey to the West is long and full of dangers. Sun Wukong and Sha Wujing, you two must protect Tang Monk well and not make any mistakes."

Sun Wukong and Sha Wujing responded in unison: "Don't worry, Bodhisattva. I will definitely keep Master safe!" "Disciple will follow the Bodhisattva's command!"

Guanyin Bodhisattva nodded slightly, then turned into a golden light and disappeared into the sky.

Everyone stared at the sky, unable to come back to their senses for a long time.

Emperor Taizong stood up and said, "Master, with the blessing of the Buddha and Bodhisattva, I believe you will be able to obtain the true scriptures and return. I have prepared everything you need, and you can set off on a chosen day."

Tang Monk burst into tears of gratitude: "Your Majesty, I have no way to repay your kindness, but I will definitely fulfill my mission."

After the lecture, Tang Seng and his three disciples stayed in the palace to rest. Zhu Jiumei came to Tang Seng's room, her eyes full of worry.

"Master, I don't know how many hardships you will have to go through on the way to the West. You must be careful." Zhu Jiumei said.

Tang Seng smiled and comforted her: "Ninth sister, don't worry. With the Buddha's blessing and the help of Wukong and Wujing, I believe we can overcome all difficulties."

Zhu Jiumei chatted with Tang Seng for a while, then returned to her temporary residence. Just as she was about to lie down to rest, she heard a knock on the door, followed by the excited voice of Sun Wukong: "Junior sister, this palace is so big and magnificent, come with us to take a look."

Zhu Jiumei didn't want to go at first, but then she thought, it was a rare opportunity to come to the palace, and she didn't know if she would have the chance again in the future, so she might as well take the opportunity to take a look around.

Thinking of this, Zhu Jiumei opened the door.

"Brothers and brothers, I will go with you."

Zhu Jiumei was a person with poor direction, and she followed Sun Wukong and Sha Wujing closely along the way, fearing that she would not be able to find the way back.

The people who led the way in the palace knew that they were the master's disciples, and they were very respectful to them along the way.

"Brothers and sisters, let me tell you a little secret. From now on, King Tang will accept Master as his sworn brother." The three of them strolled around for a while, and after sending away the guide, Zhu Jiumei said.

"Really? Junior sister, how did you know that?" Sun Wukong and Sha Wujing asked in surprise.

"This is my little secret. As for the news, it is naturally true." Zhu Jiumei blinked mischievously.
