Chapter 25 The Inexplicable Duel

Chapter 25 The Inexplicable Duel

It's too late to regret until you lose it.

This is what Harry is thinking at this moment. He feels that he has been targeted by the whole of Hogwarts. No matter where he goes, a group of people are staring at his forehead. The professor was taken aback when he called his name.

But this is not the worst.

Harry originally thought he was being watched by Professor Highmore, but that was not the case at all. In the ancient magic class, Professor Highmore didn't pay special attention to him at all.

It was Snape who was really after him.

Harry knew that Snape hated him.

In the Potions classroom, Snape had just finished his long speech. He had the same ability as Professor McGonagall and Professor Highmore, and he could keep the classroom orderly without any effort.

But also a student from Slytherin, Snape did not stop Draco Malfoy from laughing at Harry's "famousness", even if it violated the order.

"Potter!" said Snape suddenly, "what would I get if I added powdered daffodil root to an infusion of wormwood?"

Harry didn't know how to answer the question, he didn't even catch what Snape said.

Snape curled his lips contemptuously, ignoring Hermione's upraised arms.

He asked a second question—where to find a bezoar.

"I don't know, sir."

Harry forced himself to look straight into his impassive eyes.

"Potter, what's the difference between the boat-shaped aconite and the wolf-venomous aconite?"

Hermione simply stood up.

"I don't know," whispered Harry, "but I think Hermione knows the answer, so why didn't you ask her?"

A few students laughed out loud, and Snape looked unhappy.

"Sit down!" he snapped at Hermione.

Hermione sat back unwillingly, but at this moment, there was a clear coughing sound from the classroom door.

Toby was standing in the doorway, looking even more unhappy than Snape.

"Severus." He stared at Snape coldly: "Can I take some of your time?"

Snape narrowed his eyes slightly: "I'm in class."

"We can continue later," said Toby.

Anyone can hear the smell of gunpowder in the conversation.

Snape strode out of the classroom, Ron excited with panic: "Do you think they will fight?"

Harry said dissatisfiedly: "Then I hope Professor Highmore can give Snape a hard lesson. I really don't understand why he targeted me so much."

At this moment, in the corridor outside the classroom.

"The results of the professors' votes are out." Toby stared at Snape closely: "I heard you voted against? Are you kidding me?"

Today is Friday, and Toby completed the ancient magic courses of all grades in the morning. During lunch time, the principal called all the faculty and staff who had attended to vote for a vote to decide whether Toby could continue to serve.

The result is certainly gratifying.

Although Toby's teaching style had a great influence on Hogwarts, causing his office to be flooded with letters from owls for several days, it was only the first class.

And Toby also explained to Dean McGonagall in detail that there will only be one such course, and then he will focus more on the real knowledge of ancient magic—such as the magic circle.

But Toby heard Professor Flitwick say that Snape expressed extremely strong dissatisfaction with his retention, and even resolutely opposed Dumbledore's decision in the meeting.

"I don't seem to need to explain to you." Snape was about to turn and return to the classroom after speaking.

"Oh? How about this?"

The magic ball suddenly spread out, quickly forming a magic circle, trapping Snape inside.

Outsiders could not hear the sound from the magic circle, and Toby finally stopped suppressing his anger and shouted: "I saw you deliberately embarrassing Harry Potter?! Are you crazy?! You must deliberately embarrass Harry Potter!" A child! If I were you, wouldn't I have to teach all the students in Slytherin House a lesson? Their parents are all famous Death Eaters!"

"This has nothing to do with you, Toby." Snape quietly clenched the wand in his cuff: "I know whose child Harry Potter really is, and I don't need you to remind me."

"I don't think so." Toby said, looking straight into Snape's eyes, "And I still have a debt I haven't settled with you. You don't think I really forgot, do you?"

"You were a Death Eater when Lily died!"

"What about you?" Snape stared at Toby's face, his expression became distorted: "You're just a coward who ran away!"

Five minutes later, when Hermione was flipping through "A Thousand Miraculous Herbs and Fungi" boredly, the door of the classroom was finally pushed open again.

The students suddenly became silent, they were all frightened by Snape's appearance, a part of his sleeve was torn off, revealing his scarred arm, and his face was covered with black ash caused by the flames.

"They actually started fighting!" Ron said silently with his mouth.

"Hush!" Harry hurriedly stopped, but it was too late.

"Ten points from Gryffindor!"

Snape stared at them viciously: "Ten points each!"

"Continue to class, take out all your notes, what are you waiting for?!"

On the other side, in the headmaster's office, Dumbledore was healing the cut on Toby's calf. He looked no better than Snape, and his face was also covered with black ash caused by the flames.

"It was a surprise to me."

Dumbledore withdrew his wand and said, "If I didn't know you well enough, I would have thought you were being impersonated. Fortunately, I found out in time, otherwise the entire corridor would have been destroyed by the two of you."

"There's nothing you can do about it, Principal." Toby shook his head and said, "It was just a joke at first. But Lily is dead, anyway. I really can't forgive Severus What he did, he really shouldn't be a real Death Eater. At the same time, I know very well that he will not forgive me for running away."

"However, he seems to be more guilty than me. I still know how to heal injuries, but he would rather continue teaching with his injuries and let the pain torture himself."

Dumbledore didn't blame Toby for his actions, as if he'd expected it.In his opinion, the duel between two people is just a quarrel between students, which is a common occurrence.

"I never knew you liked Lily, too."

"It's not liking, principal, it's more gratitude."

"Okay." Dumbledore stood up and said, "I've heard too many good things about Lily as early as when you were students."

At this time, Phineas in the portrait mocked: "What nonsense, two professors would brazenly fight in school. Such absurd things would not have happened when I was the principal!"

Toby took out his black walnut wand and pointed to his heart: "But I must recognize my heart and not deceive myself. This is the characteristic of black walnut. The wand chooses a wizard."

"Unscrupulous! Unreasonable words!" Phineas shouted: "Nonsense! Nonsense!"

Toby got up and left the principal's office, he waved his hand indifferently.

"Whatever you say."
