Chapter 1407 Rare Treasure

At the auction site of the Yuan blue and white Guiguzi Downhill Picture Jar, when the bidding reached 1000 million pounds, there were still 6 or 7 bidders.

Wang Dingqian, who is crooked, was estimated at around 800 million pounds, and set the highest support point at 1000 million. He did not expect it to exceed expectations.

The final auctioneer, Eskenazi, is the world's main antique dealer dealing in early Chinese artworks.

This time, he bid for an overseas private collector.

He only joined when the price tag reached 1350 million pounds.

He and a telephone bidder won the treasure after a long battle.

After filming, Eskenazi said he was exhausted by the tension of the set.

And admitted: "I have reached my limit, I don't know how long I can last."

The local British newspaper at the time commented on the auction results with "crazy bids".

"The buyer thought there might be some value in the jar, but they didn't expect that. It's a staggering price," said Desmond Healy, head of Chinese ceramics and works of art at Christie's in London.

He said: "We are very pleased with the result of the auction. This jar is still intact after many centuries of collection, which is extremely rare in the market."

In fact, it was not until Christie's published the auction catalog that collectors knew the existence of porcelain jars, and porcelain jars also began to arouse great interest in the international collection circle.

At that time, the Chinese people were also inspired, because none of the other seven similar antiques stayed in Huaxia.

International professionals believe that a group of powerful Chinese buyers formed an alliance to try to return the jars to their homeland.

Even the staff of Christie's also emphasized that in auctions, the ability of bidders to predict is very important.

The hottest items often come as a surprise, often with bidders backing them up with extra money.

They believe that the fact that the Huaxia collectors did not bid for the jar this time does not mean that the Huaxia buyers are incapable.

It was due to an error in the calculation before the auction, so when the real unexpected high price was faced, there was a lack of psychological preparation for the time being.

In fact, Huaxia collectors are very strong, and if they calculate well, they are fully capable of buying.

Huaxia participated in the auction of Yuan blue and white jars. Although there were some factors that allowed Huaxia collections to return to their homeland, many people believed that they were not trying to win back the so-called "face" of Huaxia people, but because the quality of this jar was indeed very good.

Of course, bringing this tank back to Asia, whether it is the mainland or the bend, will indeed be of great help to academic research.

After the auction was completed, Eskenazi declined to disclose the buyer's information.

All he could say was that the buyer was "not Asian, nor British".

The auction house can't ask about this, but many people speculate that the final buyer may be an ugly collector.

And it has not been heard that buyers will have any exhibition plans for this tank.

However, there are still many big collectors or people in the industry who hope to lend it to the museum for display, so that more people can have the honor of witnessing this rare thing in the world.

In the past some time, many people have been fortunate enough to get along with Daguan, "the more you watch it, the more enjoyable it is, and you will never tire of watching it."

After the shooting, more people will have a "sense of loss", at least in the short term, there will be no chance to see it again.

What is the main advantage of such a fine product?
First of all, the subject matter of the picture pot is peculiar, and the peculiarity of the subject matter more importantly reflects the protagonist in the picture story - Guiguzi.

...

There are different versions of Guiguzi in history, but he has always been a rather mysterious figure.

In the history of China, there is indeed Guiguzi.

Guiguzi was a native of Weiguo in the middle of the Warring States period, and the date of his birth and death is unknown.

In his early years, he traveled around the world, was good at rhetoric, and was good at making suggestions. He wanted to be known to the princes, but due to bad luck, his official career was not obvious.

Later, in order to achieve the words of Zongheng's family and become an independent sect, he lived in seclusion in Chaoge Guigu, wrote books and set up talks, recruited disciples widely, and taught students in accordance with their aptitude.

The place where he lives in seclusion is called "Ghost Valley". Because he calls himself Guiguzi, people also call him Mr. Guigu.

Of course, this "ghost" does not refer to evil and treacherous ghosts, but refers to the strange, mysterious, and superhuman wisdom.

Guiguzi has profound knowledge. As a part of Chinese traditional history and culture, Guiguzi theory has been well-known overseas and highly respected.

And the other protagonist in the screen story—Su Dai is also a very interesting character.

Su Dai is Su Qin's younger brother, from Yangluo. His reputation is not as prominent as his brother's, but he is also an outstanding strategist.

The well-known idiom "the snipe and the clam fight" and the word "excuse the light" are related to him.

Such a meaningful Yuan blue and white pot can be said to gather all the elements that can add value, so it will naturally be sought after by people.

Therefore, even among the collections donated by Mr. Zhao Tailai, just a fake is still very precious.

Among the tens of thousands of antiques, fakes such as Yuan blue and white are definitely not an exception.

But we have to think that things that can be imitated by those masters in the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China must be the top national treasures.

So, although not all the antiques donated by Zhao Tailai are genuine, these fakes are not of high value?

For example, the Yuan blue and white Guiguzi Xiashan vase inside, this kind of porcelain is the most valuable porcelain in the world today.

Not to mention other things, just the imitation pictures on it, it is not simple.

Of course, it is impossible to say that when Zhao Tai came there, there was another one that was exactly the same.

However, even though these cultural relics are fakes, Mr. Zhao Tailai's deeds of transporting these cultural relics from overseas at his own expense still deserve our respect.

After all, it took ten years of hard work to send the cultural relics back to China, which is not something that anyone can do.

In Yangcheng, the most famous one should be the Zhao Tailai Collection Museum.

The Zhao Tailai Collection Hall was built according to the specifications of the ancestral halls (ancestral halls, family temples) in the Pearl River Delta in the late Qing Dynasty.

The outside is a double-rolled gable (that is, Zizi wok ears), with water-polished blue bricks and white stone feet, and the front is a gate with the word "Hui".

The inscription on the plaque and couplet was written by the late famous Lingnan painter Mr. Li Xiongcai when he was 94 years old.

Mr. Zhao Tailai is a British Chinese, an honorary citizen of Yangcheng City, and the permanent honorary director of Baomo Garden.

He enthusiastically donated famous paintings to Baomo Garden. During this period, he donated 41 large xz "Thangkas", as well as huge treasures such as bronze Guanyin, bronze horse, and copper incense burner from the Ming Dynasty.

"Thangka" is a religious painting of Buddhism in the snow area. It originated very early and was most popular in the Tang Dynasty, so it is called "Thangka".

The "Zhao Tailai Collection Museum" has collected 41 xz "Thangkas", including Shaying Muni Buddha, Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, Manjusri Bodhisattva, etc. in different postures, various Dharma Protectors, and various patriarchs of xz Buddhism.

There is even a portrait of Songtsen Gampo, king of Tibet.

In the middle of the hall, there is also a special huge glass cabinet.

On display are the Ming Dynasty gilt bronze statue of Guanyin donated by Mr. Zhao Tailai, a pair of Ming Dynasty gilt bronze horses and a large copper incense burner.

In front of the statue of Avalokitesvara, there is a three-legged copper incense burner with animal ears and four copper handicrafts, all of which are rare treasures.
