Chapter 685 There is nothing in the bowl, it is full of water

The later the time, the better the fired porcelain and the more sophisticated the craftsmanship.

However, the porcelain fired by the Yue kiln is the best secret-color porcelain, so has it ever fired secret-color porcelain?

However, at this moment, Chen Wenzhe had a headache. How could he prove that one of the crafts was the firing of secret-color porcelain?
What Chen Wenzhe could see was a silent pantomime, but no one told him what he was doing.

He couldn't think that because it was a sagger used by Yue kiln, and it was a sagger for firing high-quality porcelain, after the late Tang Dynasty, it fired secret-color porcelain, right?

Secret color porcelain seems to have been mysterious since it was handed down.

At least, since the middle and late Tang Dynasty, the secret color porcelain is like a beauty covered with a veil, making it difficult for future generations to distinguish the real face.

It wasn't until the extremely accidental excavation of the tower base of Famen Temple that the secret truth that had troubled the people of the country for thousands of years was revealed to the world.

However, he can be sure that this is Yue Kiln celadon, but he can't be sure that it is secret color porcelain.

The Yue Kiln in the ancient Yue Kingdom should be the earliest kiln named after the place name, which is what the Tang Dynasty people called it.

"Kyushu's wind and dew are opened across the kiln, and the emerald beauty of thousands of peaks is won."

A sentence inspired by the poet Lu Guimeng has been recited for thousands of years, which is also the happiness of Yue Kiln.

But the happiness of Yue Kiln is not limited to this, the tea sage Lu Yu also praised it and regarded it as a treasure:
"Xing kiln is like silver, Yue kiln is like jade, Xing is not as good as Yue, one is; if Xing kiln is like snow, Yue kiln is like ice, Xing is not as good as Yue, two is also; Xing kiln is white and brown red, more porcelain blue and brown green , Xing is not as good as Yue, three things;"

This kind of praise is rare in the history of ceramics.

Who is Lu Yu?Known as the "tea fairy", revered as the "tea saint", enshrined as the "tea god", and known as the "tea mountain censor".

Lu Yu loved tea all his life and was proficient in tea ceremony. He conducted long-term investigation and research on tea, was familiar with tea tree cultivation, breeding and processing techniques, and was good at tea tasting.

The tea scriptures written by him are still widely circulated!

It can be said that he is the originator of tea tasting and tea art!

Up to now, Chen Wenzhe still wants to get his credit, otherwise who will he sell his tea set to?

It is such a person who praises Yueyao celadon desperately, you should know how big the influence is!
With a literati's keen literary experience, Lu Yu clearly compares jade to silver and ice to snow.

The scientific and technological content of white porcelain in the Tang Dynasty was much higher than that of celadon porcelain, as evidenced by the selection of the Royal Baibao Daying Library with the word "Ying".

However, Lu Yu stood on the standpoint of a southern literati, using tea as a principle, restraining Bai Yangqing, which is his brilliance.

Lu Yu's words have spread widely, and it is impossible for anyone who has a little understanding of the history of ceramics not to know this sentence.

However, it is still controversial to say that the Yue kiln celadon was completely suppressed from the Xing kiln white porcelain.

However, when the secret color porcelain appeared, there was no controversy.

It turns out that the secret-colored porcelain has always been a legend, and there is no need to talk about it. However, when the thirteen pieces of secret-colored porcelain in Famen Temple appeared, this is no longer a legend.

If we want to talk about the most mysterious porcelain in China, we should also say it is "secret color porcelain".

For many years, this kind of porcelain was only recorded in literature, but there was no real object for comparison.

Even the most amazing Ge Kiln in the Song Dynasty still has some fragments visible.

People can only know from historical records that the secret color porcelain was specially fired by "Yue Kiln" for the royal family.

From formula, blank making, glazing to firing, the whole process is kept secret.

The most mysterious thing is its color? No, it is actually the firing process and formula.

What is "secret color", no one knows, and because no one knows, it may be named "secret color".

The records in the literature have been mentioned frequently, and the more famous one is in the poem "Secret Color Yue Qi" written by Lu Guimeng, a poet in the late Tang Dynasty: "The wind and dew in the nine autumns opened the kiln, and won the emerald color of thousands of peaks. It is good for the mid-night prosperity. , A total of Ji Zhong Sandou left cup".

After reading it, it makes people wonder again, what is the relationship between the secret color porcelain and Yue kiln porcelain? What is Qianfeng emerald color?
As an unsolved case in the world of ceramics and archaeology, the secret of Miser Porcelain was fortunately solved in 1987.

The discovery and excavation of the underground palace of Famen Temple, where the secret is located, is also full of legends.

According to legend, Fufeng Famen Temple was built in the Eastern Han Dynasty. The real name of Famen Temple is Tang Gaozu. It is famous for placing Buddha relics and has always been a holy place for Buddhism.

The ancient temples that have gone through thousands of years are unavoidable by swordsmen and robbers.

During the period of the Republic of China, the temple was dilapidated.

In 1939, the then president of the North China Charity Association began large-scale repairs to the temple with funds raised by various parties.

It is said that during the reconstruction, some participants discovered a corner of the underground palace.

In the era of war and chaos, this simply means a catastrophe for the treasures in the underground palace.

Fortunately, after the president learned about it, he swore an oath with the insider not to reveal any secrets, and then closed the underground palace again. Fortunately, after many years, the treasure was recovered.

In 1976, the tower of Famen Temple was seriously tilted.

In 1981, the top of the tower fell, leaving only half of the tower.

In 1987, the tower collapsed completely, and the underground palace at the bottom of the tower was rediscovered.

In the following archeology, a super-large-scale underground palace was excavated, and a total of more than 2000 treasures of the Tang Dynasty were cleared out, including some exquisite porcelain.

If we hadn't seen the inscription recording the list of items enshrined in the underground palace, we might have missed another opportunity to solve the eternal mystery this time.

Fortunately, we were lucky enough. In the inscription "Props and Gold and Silver Treasures and Clothing Accounts with the Real Body When Supervising and Sending the Real Body" found in the underground palace, it is recorded: "Seven porcelain bowls (bowls) with silver edges ; A total of six porcelain secret-colored plates and (dishes).”

Compared with the real objects, the 13 pieces of porcelain bowls, plates, and plates in the underground palace were finally confirmed to be the long-lost secret color porcelain.

And these 13 pieces of palace porcelain have also become the earliest and most exquisite palace porcelain found in the world and confirmed by inscription records.

Although it has been confirmed to come from the Yue Kiln, after expert research, the secret color porcelain is indeed completely different from the celadon in terms of the bottom of the body, the glaze of the body and the firing process.

The marvelousness of the secret color porcelain is indescribable. There is a poem in the ancients that says: There is nothing in the bowl, but it seems to be full of spring water.

Only after seeing one of the secret-color porcelain dishes with a "concave bottom" can we realize that what the ancients said is true.

The bottom of the dish is concave from the outside to the inside, forming a tiny curved surface. Under the light, the bottom of the bowl reflects a glistening white light, like water and clouds.

There is another elegant and luxurious five-petal sunflower mouth gilt silver-edged flat-tipped bird group pattern secret color porcelain bowl, the inner wall of the bowl is glazed with greenish yellow, the outer wall is painted with dark blue lacquer, and five gilt flat-tipped bird group patterns are pasted. The mouth of the bowl and the bottom feet are covered with silver ribs.

This bowl is decorated with the popular "gold and silver flat-off" method in the Tang Dynasty. The craftsmanship is complicated and luxurious.

Before that excavation, due to the evidence of various documents, the ceramic academic circle believed in the saying that "mysterious porcelain was first fired in the Five Dynasties".

Those who believe in burning in the late Tang Dynasty can only rely on the poets Lu Guimeng and Xu Yin in the late Tang Dynasty to mention "secret color" in their poems and articles to justify themselves.

Fortunately, archaeological discoveries solved the case.
