Chapter 888 The Real Treasure

Chapter 888 The Real Treasure

Just like the gold cakes in Chen Wenzhe's hands at this time, each large piece can reach about 250 grams, which is consistent with the calculation unit of the gold currency in the Han Dynasty;

Small weight, only about 15 grams.

The gold cakes unearthed from Han tombs that Chen Wenzhe had seen before had obvious traces of being cut and used, which also showed that the gold cakes of the Han Dynasty could be cut and used arbitrarily according to the needs of transactions. All these prove that these gold cakes are a kind of currency.

The gold coins discovered this time, in addition to cake gold, also have other shapes.

If cake gold is a common currency, then those other shapes are commemorative coins.

In addition to cake gold, the gold coins of the Han Dynasty also had Linzhi gold, horseshoe gold and other forms. These are commemorative coins!
Linzhi gold was cast in the second year of Taishi, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, that is, 95 BC.

According to the edict of the second year of Taishi quoted in "Hanshu·Wudi Ji", Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty went out for a tour in the spring of that year, and after returning to Chang'an, he issued an edict, saying that he had once won the Bailin when he climbed the Xilong Plateau, and he was in Wowa again. I saw Tianma by the water, and gold on Mount Tai.

Therefore, based on these three things, a batch of gold coins in the shape of "Linzhi" and "褭蹏 (sound niao ti)" were minted at that time to express auspiciousness.

"Lin's toe" refers to the toes of the Kirin;

"褭蹏" means horseshoe.

Since then, there have been gold coins named "Linzhi" and "Horseshoe" in the Han Dynasty.

Linzhi gold has an oval (or round) bottom, a concave bottom, and a hollow back, resembling a horseshoe, so it is also called "horseshoe gold".

Linzhi gold and horseshoe gold are two kinds of gold currencies. The difference between them is that the bottom shape is different. The Linzhi gold bottom is round, and the horseshoe gold bottom is oval.

In addition, a small amount of gold "five baht" coins were cast in the Han Dynasty, which were in the shape of a round square hole, with outlines on the front and back, and the seal characters "five baht" written horizontally on the front and left, and the characters "five" and "five baht". The gold characters of the characters are triangular in shape.

Only 4 pieces have been seen before, and 2 pieces were unearthed in Xianyang, Xishan in 1980, and are now stored in the National Museum and Xishan History Museum respectively. .

In 1990, Yangluo Numismatic Society collected one piece, and another one was auctioned by Shendu Chengxuan Company in 1.

In fact, not only the gold five baht was rarely found, but even the gold cake was not found much.

Judging from the unearthed situation of gold coins in the Han Dynasty, it is known that there are 14 locations in 27 provinces and cities, and there are unearthed reports.

Although the distribution area is wide, the number of unearthed is small.

Except in 2000, a brick factory in the northern suburb of Chang'an, Xi'an, discovered 219 gold cakes at one time due to excavation for brick making.

Others are still in the tomb of Liu Sheng, King Jing of Zhongshan, all over the city. In addition to 40 and 29 gold cakes unearthed respectively, there are only 1 to 2 gold cakes unearthed from Han tombs.

Individually, there are 4 to 6 yuan, and the most one time is only 25 yuan.

Taking Liu Sheng's tomb as an example, although many small gold cakes were unearthed, the total weight of the 40 small gold cakes unearthed from Tomb No. 719.4 was only 3 grams, less than [-] catties;
The 29 small gold cakes unearthed from Tomb No. 438.15 weigh only 2 grams, or less than [-] catties.

King Jing of Zhongshan, Liu Sheng, was the son of Emperor Jing of the Han Dynasty. He was a nobleman of the royal family.

It can be seen that the number of unearthed and surviving gold coins in the Han Dynasty is rare.

Therefore, 75 complete Han Dynasty gold coins were unearthed at one time from the tomb of Haihunhou in the Western Han Dynasty, which naturally caused a sensation.

Of course, compared to the treasures unearthed from Liu Sheng's tomb, the value of those unearthed from Haihunhou's tomb is still much lower.

It's just that the gold buried in Liu Sheng's tomb is a little less, but there are tens of thousands of other treasures!
In fact, saying so much is mainly to explain the value of gold cakes.

Don't look at many of these gold cakes are not big, but the value is indeed not low.

Due to the scarcity of surviving pieces, Han Dynasty gold cakes have become highly sought after by collectors in recent years.

In 2010, China Guardian once auctioned an exquisite Western Han gold cake with an estimated price of 8 to 12 yuan. After the auction started, collectors raised their cards one after another. The price rose all the way, and finally it was sold at a high price of 19.04 yuan.

The current batch in Chen Wenzhe's hands, if he manages well and releases them to the market one by one, they may all be sold for more than [-] yuan.

After all, no matter how many things there are, there is nowhere to go.

In other words, such a pile of unremarkable gold cakes is worth more than [-] million.

"Okay, let's go back!"

"Don't move on? I can already hear the sound of the waves, the exit should be nearby!" Gao Qijing asked doubtfully.

Chen Wenzhe shook his head and said, "The exit here cannot be opened, and besides, the exit here should not be so easy to transport things."

He knew that if he went out from here, he would arrive at a reef that was more than ten meters high.

This side is facing the ocean, and the ventilation is good, which makes the air here relatively dry.

Even if there is moisture, it is blown away by the wind.

Although this channel is suitable for hiding treasures, it is not the right way.

It is definitely impossible to choose a cave more than ten meters above the ground for the truly correct place to hide the treasure, because it is too difficult to transport it from the sea.

Gao Qijing didn't continue talking, but followed Chen Wenzhe and returned to the cave where the gold bricks were stored before.

"Dig carefully from here, there must be a passage here, if there is still a treasure, it must be hidden here!"

Looking at the place Chen Wenzhe pointed to, this is the north side of the passage.

Entering the passage, the wall on this side falls behind. It can be said that this side is a blind spot of sight.

Unexpectedly, the correct passage is actually here.

Gao Qijing and the others already had great trust in Chen Wenzhe.

Now that he had spoken, they went to work.

It didn't take much effort, just digging for more than ten minutes, and another channel was opened.

This time it was another upward passage, and after walking a few meters, a dry cave appeared.

And the light shone through, and at the entrance of the cave, Chen Wenzhe saw a row of neatly placed golden beasts.

This is obviously a group of small golden beasts. Compared with the large golden beast before, these are smaller and cute.

The size of these small golden beasts is no more than ten centimeters, and they may be a set of toys for a child from a wealthy family in the Eastern Han Dynasty.

The most conspicuous among them was a golden dove cart, which Chen Wenzhe was very familiar with, and he never thought it could be made of gold.

In addition to this conspicuous golden dove car, there are also familiar golden rooster, golden monkey, and golden pig, which seem to be the twelve zodiac signs?
No, after a closer look, the little golden beast is second from the left, similar to a deer, and the animal with long horns seems to be a "horned deer".

If you are familiar with the stone portraits of the Han Dynasty, you will know that this animal is the "unicorn" in the eyes of the Han people.

In addition to these, there is another eye-catching price comparison, and that is an elephant.

There were still elephants in the Han Dynasty, otherwise, the people of the Han Dynasty would not have produced such naive golden elephants.

There are quite a few of these little golden beasts, and with just a little counting, there are more than twenty of them.
