Chapter 146 Metal Difficulties, Aura 1 Appearance

Chapter 146 The metal problem, a flash of inspiration (seeking subscription recommendation)
As for another kind of anaerobic composting, it is actually anaerobic fermentation.

Anaerobic fermentation refers to the stabilization of waste through the metabolic activities of microorganisms under anaerobic conditions, accompanied by changes in methane and CO2 production.

In the liquefaction stage, fermentation bacteria mainly work, including cellulolytic bacteria and proteolytic bacteria.

The acid-producing stage is mainly played by acetic acid bacteria, and the methanogenic stage is mainly composed of methane bacteria, which degrade the products produced in the acid-producing stage into methane and CO2, and use the hydrogen produced in the acid-producing stage to reduce CO2 to methane.

Its principle is to use the transformation of anaerobic microorganisms to decompose most of the biodegradable organic substances in the organic substances, convert them into biogas, and generate biogas slurry.

The advantage is that after converting organic matter into biogas, it is easy to transport and store, has high calorific value, low combustion pollution, and is widely used.

Of course, anaerobic fermentation requires the use of a fermenter.

It so happened that there is a small fermenter in the [Organic Fertilizer Factory] supporting the pig farm. It was the equipment that Wu Siyuan bought back at the time, but it was bought and never used a few times.

Back to business.

The [Organic Fertilizer Factory] in the pig farm adopts the compost fermentation method is the fermenter fermentation method.

The fermentation tank is a brick-concrete structure with a length of 30-40 meters, a width of 6-8 meters and a depth of about 2 meters. Several tanks are arranged side by side and placed in a closed or semi-closed fermentation room.

The roof of the fermentation room adopts light-transmitting materials to make full use of solar energy.

A ventilation pipe is buried at the bottom of the fermentation tank, and after the material is filled, a high-pressure air supply device is used to regularly force ventilation to maintain good ventilation in the tank and promote the rapid reproduction of microorganisms.

Use a forklift or special fermentation turning equipment to turn it regularly, usually 1 to 2 times a day.

The more than 800 kilograms of organic matter was put into the fermentation tank, and after about 30 days of fermentation, the temperature gradually decreased from the highest temperature of 70-80°C and became stable, and the material became decomposed.

After the materials are decomposed, some experimenters take samples back for testing.

As a result, the test results were not satisfactory. Sure enough, the heavy metals exceeded the standard!

If this problem is not dealt with, heavy metals will eventually accumulate in the human body along the food chain.

This is not a good thing.

Heavy metals include mercury, chromium, cadmium, lead, manganese, vanadium, antimony, thallium, etc. If they accumulate in the human body to a certain extent for a long time, they will cause chronic poisoning.

Mercury poisoning can cause damage to the brain, optic nerves, mental problems, numbness of the limbs, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases and renal dysfunction.

Lead poisoning in pregnant women will damage the neural plates of the fetus. After birth, the baby will have mental retardation and congenital shallow brain sulcus, and the elderly will suffer from brain death and dementia.

Manganese poisoning can cause hyperthyroidism in humans.

Vanadium poisoning can lead to abnormal cholesterol metabolism; antimony poisoning can damage the skin; thallium poisoning can cause multiple neuritis.

It can be said that heavy metals exceed the standard and endanger the health of the whole body.

For example, Guiyu Town in Vietnam Province is the largest "e-waste village" in the world. It processes tens of millions of tons of e-waste every year, and the proportion of mobile phones is increasing year by year.

Electronic waste is dismantled and classified here, and then precious metals such as gold and copper are extracted, forming a huge and hidden chain of interests that threatens the health of local people.

Every evening, billows of black smoke rise from the fields in Guiyu. The black smoke was caused by workers burning electronic waste such as electronic boards in order to remove the metal from them.

According to the investigation and sampling by the "Greenpeace" organization, six harmful substances including lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polyvinyl chloride plastic, and brominated flame retardants have infiltrated into the local soil and groundwater.

Due to excessive heavy metals, most of the surface water and shallow groundwater in Guiyu were undrinkable at that time, and the coverage of tap water was very narrow, so the local people needed to buy water for drinking.

The concentration of PBDEs in the local air is 21.5 nanograms per cubic meter, 140 times and 70 times that of Hong Kong and Yangcheng respectively.

In 2002, when Guiyu’s e-waste industry was developing at a high speed, it was reported that “the results of the local health center’s physical examination of students in a village in Guiyu showed that more than 80% of the primary and middle school students suffered from respiratory diseases. Five students were confirmed to have leukemia."

A research report released in 2010 showed that 6% of rural children under the age of 81.8 in Guiyu suffered from lead poisoning.

This is exchanging life for money, which makes people sad but helpless, just because everyone wants to survive.

……………………………………………………………………………………………………

Back to the problem of excessive heavy metals in the soil.

This problem has always been a difficult problem in the industry, and the cost of dealing with it is very high.

Many unscrupulous merchants directly sell organic fertilizers with excessive heavy metals, which is why there are many bad reports.

Wu Siyuan's organic fertilizers are ultimately intended to serve his own industry. If he does not solve the problem of excessive heavy metals, the final use of [Lingquan Brand Organic Liquid Fertilizer] will only backfire on him.

Moreover, it is not only the heavy metals in the organic substances screened out of domestic waste that exceed the standard, but also the chicken and duck manure purchased from outside, or the manure of cattle and sheep, which contain heavy metals will not be less!

All these were reported to Wu Siyuan by the experimenter of [Organic Fertilizer Factory].

So this problem still needs to be solved.

Wu Siyuan and the experimenters of the [Organic Fertilizer Factory] experimented with various methods, but either the cost was too high or the effect was not good.

Just when he was a little frustrated, Guan Xuelie, who came to check on the situation of the pig farm, casually mentioned, "Didn't it say that earthworms can eat heavy metals in the soil?"

The experimenter then said, "Some earthworms can enrich the heavy metals they eat in their bodies, but if the heavy metals exceed the standard too seriously, the earthworms will also be poisoned to death. At present, this research is only in the laboratory stage. There are no actual success stories.”

"Maybe there is no earthworm species that can efficiently enrich heavy metals!" The experimenter said, "At present, domestic earthworms are mainly used in the treatment of solid livestock and poultry manure, domestic sludge, fungus residue and other earthworm composting. There are a few applications."

"Oh." Guan Xuelie said softly, disapproving.

Wu Siyuan's eyes lit up, he can't do research, but he has a lot of confidence in cultivating earthworms that can efficiently enrich heavy metals, sitting in the [Shennongjiao Space] and [Spiritual Spring Water].

Wu Siyuan returned to Yangcheng and asked his assistant to buy a batch of [Taiping No. [-]] earthworms and send them to his private factory in the suburbs.

This place is empty, remote, and quiet, which is convenient for Wu Siyuan to do things.
