Chapter 24 Halloween Boss: Among the Trolls
After persuading Hermione, Ryan suggested to go to the library to study together. But Hermione thought that her eyes were red and swollen, and the image of crying just now was really not suitable for appearing in front of her classmates. She felt that studying in this empty classroom with no one was good.
No way, Ryan went upstairs to the dormitory to get his schoolbag, and then returned to the empty classroom.Hermione had washed her face and cleared the two desks.
Hermione took out the notes Ryan had copied from the lesson she missed in the morning, and began to make up the lessons she missed in the morning. While copying, he said to himself: "Oh my God, I can't believe I missed a class because of this matter. The Levitation Charm is a very important spell, maybe I will take it in the final exam."
Time passed slowly while studying. After finishing all the homework assigned today, Ryan looked up out of the window and found that it was already getting dark.
"Oops, I think it's past time for dinner now, but there is a Halloween dinner today. I heard that the Halloween banquet at Hogwarts will be very rich, and the decorations in the auditorium will be very beautiful. Woz's first holiday banquet, I think it must not be missed. Let's run fast, maybe we can catch the banquet."
The two packed up their books and were about to open the door to go out when they suddenly heard crackling footsteps from the other end of the corridor.Ryan seemed to have thought of something, grabbed Hermione who was about to open the door and went out, and then opened a crack in the door to peek out.
When he saw Harry and Ron running over, Ryan opened the door and walked out.
……
After the morning class, Harry and Ron discovered that Hermione hadn't shown up all afternoon, and Ryan had just gone upstairs to get a schoolbag and then disappeared in a hurry.
When it was dinner time, they went downstairs to the dining room, to attend the Halloween banquet, and overheard Patil telling her friend Lavender that Hermione was doing homework with Ryan in the empty classroom on the first floor, although her eyes were still a little It was red and swollen, but it didn't hide in the toilet and cry like at noon. I envied Hermione to have such a friend.
Ron looked a little uncomfortable when he heard this.He said to Harry: "Because Ryan is also a bit nerdy, so I can be friends with Hermione."
But Harry said: "I know it made you feel a little uncomfortable because Ryan asked you to apologize to Hermione at noon, but if he hadn't organized everyone to discuss homework in the common room, I might not have been able to finish my homework recently, you know, Quidditch practice takes time."
Moments later, when they walked into the dining room and saw the colorful Halloween decorations, they immediately forgot about Hermione and the others.
A thousand bats fluttered across the walls and ceiling, and another thousand hovered like a low black cloud over the table, making the candle flames flicker in the pumpkin belly.Delicacy pops up on golden plates, just like at the back-to-school feast.
Just as Harry and the others were having fun, Professor Quirrell suddenly rushed into the restaurant with his big scarf on his head and a look of horror on his face.Everyone stared at him as he walked over to Professor Dumbledore's chair, leaned over the table, and gasped, "The troll—in the dungeon—thought you should know."
After he finished speaking, he fell to the floor and passed out.
There was chaos in the restaurant.Professor Dumbledore had to make a few screeching firework explosions from the head of his wand before everyone was quiet.
"Prefect," he said in a low voice, "lead the students of your college to the dormitory immediately."
Percy was naturally familiar with leading the students of this academy to the Gryffindor Tower.
On the way, they encountered some crowds rushing in different directions. Many people had nervousness on their faces, and even some timid girls were sobbing softly.
As they walked for a while, struggling to squeeze their way past a group of bewildered Hufflepuffs, Harry grabbed Ron's arm as if thinking of something, and said, "It occurred to me that Hermione and Lane didn't know Hufflepuff yet." Strange thing, I think we're going to inform them."
Ron bit his lip.
"Oh, all right," he said decisively, "but it's best not to let Percy see us."
They hunkered down, blended in with the Hufflepuff crowd, and walked in the other direction. They walked through the empty side corridor, and just turned the corner when they heard hurried footsteps behind them.
"Percy!" Ron said in a low voice, pulling Harry behind a large stone statue of a griffin.
They looked from behind the stonework and found it was not Percy but Snape. He crossed the corridor and disappeared from their sight.
"What is he doing?" Harry whispered. "Why isn't he in the basement downstairs with the other teachers?"
"how could I know!"
Following Snape's receding footsteps, they walked quietly down another corridor, trying not to make a sound.
Nothing happened on the rest of the road. Harry and the others just turned a corner and came to the road in front of the classroom where Ryan and the others were studying.I saw Ryan coming out from the back door of the classroom: "It's meal time, what are you two doing here?"
Harry opened his mouth, about to say something.Suddenly there was a smell of smelly socks mixed with public toilets that were never cleaned, and then the four of them heard a low grunt and the sound of huge feet dragging on the ground.
Ryan's complexion changed drastically, and he immediately called Harry and Ron to hide in the classroom, and then they hid in the dark of the classroom with their breaths held.
Through the glass on the classroom door, they saw a huge figure walking past the classroom, through the moonlight shining in through the corridor window. They found out it was a troll.
It was twelve feet tall, with dull, granite-gray skin, a huge, clumsy body like a giant heap of boulders, with a small head the size of a cocoa bean. Its short legs were thick as tree stumps, and underneath were large, flat, calloused feet. The stench from it was disgusting. It held a thick wooden stick in its hand, and because of its long arms, the wooden stick dragged on the ground.
Hermione covered her mouth behind her and let out a suppressed exclamation. After hearing the troll's footsteps walking away slowly, the four came to the door and looked towards the corridor.
They saw the troll stop by a door and peer inside. It wiggled its long ears, made a decision with its small head, then lowered its head, and slowly entered the room.
"The key's in the lock," Harry murmured. "We can lock it in so we don't come out and hurt anybody."
"Good idea," said Ron nervously.
They sidled toward the open door, their mouths dry, and all they could do was hope that the troll wouldn't come out suddenly. With a big leap, Harry took the key in his hand, slammed the door, and locked it firmly.
"It's done!"
