Chapter 39 Night Tour Zhong Nanshan, Reading Mohist Under the Moon

Chapter 39 Night Tour Zhong Nanshan, Reading Mohist Under the Moon

Going forward along the winding narrow road, a small wooden house appears under the long forest and grassy hillside.

"Cuckoo!"

The little squirrel stood on the wooden table with a nut in its arms, staring at Li Changqing with big round eyes.

After Li Changqing approached, the little squirrel stretched out its scarlet slender tongue to lick away the crumbs of nuts at the corner of its mouth.

The two little paws moved the bowl Li Changqing gave it to drink, and looked at Li Changqing with very pitiful eyes.

"You little guy is almost mature, and your mouth is getting more and more picky!"

Seeing that the bowl of clear water that was given to the little squirrel hadn't moved at all, Li Changqing said with a smile.

Seeing that Li Changqing hadn't moved, the little squirrel jumped over and hugged Li Changqing's trouser legs with two little paws.

Li Changqing had no choice but to pour out the clear water in the bowl, took out the spirit-gathering pot and filled it up for the little squirrel.

The little squirrel was willing to get down from Li Changqing's trouser legs after smelling the fragrance of the spirit water, and put his head into the bowl to drink.

Li Changqing moved out from the wooden house to write some dried vegetables, lit a bonfire and boiled a pot of spiritual water to make a cup of tea.

The tea soup is bright and clear, and the essence floats on the bowl surface, steaming like green clouds.

After taking a sip of hot tea, I feel that my mouthpiece is full of body fluid, as if every pore in my body has been opened.

Li Changqing held "Fei Gong" and began to read it carefully. The little squirrel was sitting by the fire, eating nuts or licking his paws.

The Mohists do not use elegant rhetoric to express the general idea of the article in the most plain language.

Moreover, most of the materials are drawn from daily life or agricultural production experience, and the metaphors are very vivid.

"Today there is a man who enters someone's garden and steals his peaches and plums. If the public hears about it, he will be wronged. If the ruler gets it, he will be punished."

"Why is this? To benefit others at the expense of others."

"The unrighteousness of those who steal people's dogs, pigs, chickens and pigs is even worse than entering people's gardens and stealing peaches and plums."

"What's the reason? Because it hurts more people."

"The more you injure others, the more unbenevolent you are, and the heavier the crime."

……

If a person enters other people's orchards to steal peaches and plums, everyone will scold him when they find out, and the upper-level rulers will punish him after arresting him!Why is this?Because he benefits himself at the expense of others.

As for the person who steals other people's dogs, pigs, chickens, etc., the degree of unrighteousness is even greater than the person who enters other people's orchard and steals the peaches and plums. What is the reason?Because the damage to others is even greater.

The more harm a person does to others, the more serious his immorality and the more serious his crime.

"Nowadays when there is a big attack on the country, you don't know what is wrong, so you can praise it and call it righteous. Does this mean you know the difference between righteousness and unrighteousness?"

Expanding to the matter of wantonly attacking other countries, but I don't know what's wrong, and instead praise it for (this matter).

To say it is moral, can this be said to be knowing the difference between moral and immoral?

This is Mozi's extension from stealing peaches and plums to attacking the country to demonstrate the truth of opposing aggressive wars.

From Li Changqing's point of view, Mozi's "Fei Gong" is justified.

But human greed is unlimited, and the strong will plunder more wealth and pass on their own crises.

Just like in the century-old history of humiliation in China, can you use Mozi's "Fei Gong" to reason with the empires?

Mozi once argued with Gongshuban to prevent Chu State from attacking Song State, but in the end it relied on technological strength!

Li Changqing's reading of the Mohist classics is only to understand his thoughts, but what he is really interested in is his scientific spirit.

The first part of the "Mojing" proposed that force is the cause of physical acceleration, 2000 years ahead of Galileo and Newton.

It even elaborates on the optical principles of pinhole imaging and the three laws of mechanical design.

Moreover, with the characteristics of various schools of thought, the "Mo Jing" produced must not be consistent with the Mo Jing that has been circulated in history.

It is very likely that it will be a theoretical masterpiece that surpasses the current science and technology. This is what Li Changqing is really looking forward to.

Li Changqing was reading "Fei Gong" in the thatched hut, carefully experiencing the scene of Mozi running around for the peace of the world.

After reading it, I feel lost, maybe the world needs idealists like Mozi!

Li Changqing looked up at the night sky. Did the ancient sages look up at the same night sky?

The cold starlight sprinkled on Zhongnan Mountain, what is the scenery of Xiaoshitan at night?

Li Changqing leaned on a wooden stick, went out under the light of the stars, and went upstream along the stream.

Both sides of the creek are covered with azaleas, and it seems that you can even hear the sound of flowers falling into the running water.

Some petals stuck to Li Changqing's feet with the running water, and one could smell a little fragrance.

The moon emerged from the clouds, and the quiet moonlight streamed down.

A few birds woke up from their sleep, whispering from time to time, drinking the sound of running water in the mountain stream.

Li Changqing immerses himself in the nature while walking, and feels this quiet artistic conception with his heart.

Under the soft moonlight, the bamboo forest in front of Xiaoshitan is mottled and uneven, which is very enchanting.

Under the blowing of the breeze, the bamboo shadows seem real and unreal, interlaced with the moon shadows, leaving shadows in the clear pool water.

Under the quiet moonlight, Xiao Yuer seems to be dozing off. When he is asleep, he is as quiet as a virgin, and when he is awake, he moves like a rabbit.

Li Changqing leaned on a cold stone and read the book "Jian Ai" under the moonlight.

"Zi Mozi said: Those who do things for the benevolent must seek the benefits of the world and eliminate the harm of the world."

"However, in today's time, which harm is the greatest in the world?"

"Say: If a big country attacks a small country, if the big ones disrupt the small ones, if the strong one robs the weak, if the many oppress the few, if the deceitful ones seek the foolish, if the noble ones despise the humble, then the whole world will be harmed."

Mozi believes that the cause of benevolent people should strive to promote the benefits of the world and eliminate the harm of the world.

But now, what is the greatest harm to the world?
For example, when a big country conquers a small country, when a big family invades a small family, when the strong oppress the weak, when the many abuse the few, when the cunning preys on the stupid, when the noble despises the humble, this is the calamity of the world.

"Gu taste that the origin of all harm is self-generated. Is this self-generated? Is this self-loving and benefiting people?"

"That is to say: It is not true. It must be said: Live from wicked people and thieves."

"The name is divided into the world, the wicked and the thieves, and the same? Don't you?"

"That is to say: don't."

"However, the one who is about to say goodbye, and the one who will give birth to the world's great harm?"

"It's true, so don't be wrong."

Let's try to deduce the origin of these many disasters, and explore where did they come from?

Does this come from loving others and benefiting others? It must be said that this is not the case.

It must be said that it came from hating and harming others.

Distinguish the name: Do people who hate others and harm others in the world love each other or hate each other?

It must be said that it is evil.

That being the case, isn't this kind of hostility really the cause of great harm in the world!
Therefore, it is wrong to hate each other, so Mozi thinks that mutual love should be used instead of hatred.
