However, for many characters that were no longer used after the Shang Dynasty, it is difficult to find clues to the evolution of their glyphs, and it is also difficult to obtain confirmation from later generations of characters. It is quite difficult to research.

At that time, Mr. Qiu found a unique way and used "subject linkage" to solve many difficult texts.

For example, his first paper on textual interpretation was based on the punishment of the Shang Dynasty as a research angle, and was summarized as "Five Punishments of the Shang Dynasty Seen in Oracle Bone Inscriptions", which is quite impressive.

Therefore, when Zhou Zhi came up with a set of research on oracle bone inscriptions, Mr. Qiu attached great importance to it and wrote to Mr. Gu asking him to "reduce the burden" on Zhou Zhi so that he could spend more time on oracle bone inscriptions.

Four hundred thousand volumes of ancient books and materials need to be scanned into a digital library. Before the release of Hanwen's third phase large font database and related scanning recognition and translation software, Zhou Zhi would not have dared to even think about it.

However, Mr. Qiu believes that since Zhou Zhi has begun to study the roots of characters, it is equivalent to giving radicals to oracle bone inscriptions. The presence of radicals means that the text can be searched. Being searchable means that the text research system is mature. The mature system is basically equal to the maturity of the character research system. You can make a dictionary...

Therefore, Zhou Zhi should publish an "Oracle Bone Dictionary" to benefit many scholars.
