Riding the wind of rebirth

Chapter 1693 Authentic
The days passed one by one, and during these days, the resolution of the autonomous prefecture to develop southward was passed. This development decision had a nice name - Anning River Valley Development Plan.
The Anning River Valley is an important agricultural area in Liangshan Prefecture. It has superior natural conditions and unique resource endowments. Along the river are small plains connected by rivers like a string of beads. These small plains together are the Anning River Valley Plain, the second largest plain in Shu after the Chengdu Plain. It is known as the "granary of southwestern Sichuan" and is said to be "a place where even a chopstick can survive."
The conditions for development here are relatively good, with dense population and urban distribution, relatively high industrial concentration, and various characteristic industries beginning to take shape.
Anning River is a tributary of Yalong River and got its name in the Qing Dynasty. It has two major source, east and west. After the two sources merged in the southeast of Daqiao Town, Mianping County, Liangshan Prefecture, it was called Anning River. It passes through Mianping, Xichang, Dechang, Miyi, and merges into Yalong River in Yanbian County.
Although it is a tributary of the Yalong River, the morphology of the Anning River Valley is different from other tributaries of the Yalong River. It has a shallower cut, a wide valley, winding tortuous paths, and intertwined branches. A huge alluvial fan is formed at the confluence of the main stream and tributaries, with floodplains and river islands dotted around. The unique feathery water system eventually formed the narrow and long Anning River Valley Plain.
The Anning River Valley Plain in a broad sense includes the river valley plains on both sides of the middle and lower reaches, including Miyi County and Yanbian County of Panzhihua City, with an area of about 960 square kilometers, which is exactly one ten-thousandth of my country's land area officially announced.
Because the surrounding mountains block the cold air, like the Shudu Basin, it is like a closed "warm basin". In addition, it has a subtropical plateau monsoon climate, which is even warmer than the Shuzhong Basin.
Because of the high temperature, longer frost-free period, fertile soil, and the river water from the surrounding mountains can be used as irrigation water, the Anning River Valley has always been Sichuan's production base for rice, corn, potatoes, silk, fruits, vegetables, flowers, meat, etc., and its specialty fruits, early-ripening loquat, mulberry, mango, pomegranate, papaya, etc. are all top-quality.
The climate is mild, with distinct rainy and dry seasons, dry and clean air, many hours of sunshine, and it is surrounded by mountains. Even in the severe winter, it is still sunny, with beautiful mountains and clear waters, and warm like spring. In the midsummer, it is still clear and cool here, making it a good place to escape the heat.
Because there are about 320 sunny days a year and the air is fresh, the autonomous prefecture is also known as the "Moon City". Also because of its latitude advantages and climate observation advantages, it was selected as one of the three major space centers and became a launch base for rockets and satellites.
A very important part of the plan is road renovation. In addition to connecting the ferry crossing with Sichuan and Yunnan, opening up the internal ring road and strengthening transportation links among the six southern counties has also become the focus of construction in the autonomous region.
This plan has been recognized by the province, which believes that it takes into account both the "external circulation" and the "internal circulation", and focuses on grain and economic crops such as special Chinese medicinal materials, fruits, and flowers, so as to give full play to the advantages of the Anning River Valley. It is a good way to develop independently without waiting or relying on others.
With support from above and a clear development direction, cadres and masses from the autonomous prefecture and southern counties were mobilized at once.
Compared to the bustle of Anning River Valley, the county town in the north is a bit quieter. Meigu is also in the north of the state capital, but at least in Lianhe Township of Meigu County, it is not quiet at all.
People from the Autonomous Prefecture Academy of Agricultural Sciences have come to investigate. In fact, their main work is in the prefecture, and they came here mainly to report the results to the township. At the same time, they also have to conduct on-site investigations, compare the actual local hydrogeological conditions with the data, and confirm their authenticity.
The result made Zhou Zhi and others very happy. That is, the Meigu River Valley in front of Lianhe Township and the "claws" or valley areas of the entire back mountain are very suitable for growing soft-seeded pomegranate trees.
Pomegranate trees actually have certain requirements for soil quality, because the roots are more sensitive to water, too wet or too dry will affect its normal growth, so the best planting soil is sandy soil with good drainage, looseness and good air permeability.
In other places, in order to avoid waterlogging, it is often necessary to improve the soil mechanically, adding an appropriate amount of sand or perlite to the soil to improve the air permeability of the soil. This is not necessary in Lianhe Township, because the soil here, except for those in the valley, is basically red mud mixed with weathered sandy soil on the hillside, which is equivalent to natural pomegranate planting soil that has been mixed.
The only shortcoming is soil nutrition, which needs to be solved through scientific management measures such as fertilization and base fertilizer.
Another thing is the pH of the soil. Pomegranate trees are generally suitable for growing in neutral or slightly acidic soils with a pH value between 6.0 and 7.5. If the soil is too acidic or too alkaline, it will affect the normal growth of the pomegranate tree and the quality of the fruit. Therefore, the pH of the soil should be tested before planting and adjusted if necessary.
Lianhe Township does not need it either. Generally, acidic soil is humus soil. The land in Lianhe Township has been washed into the Meigu River and is now slowly recovering.
Alkaline soils are generally formed by salt and calcium deposits in arid climates, excessive application of lime, and weathering of basic rocks.
Lianhe Township also does not have this problem. Although there is a dry season of half a year and a rainy season of half a year, there is no shortage of water. There is no rain for two or three months in the dry season, but there is rainfall almost every day in the rainy season, and the salt and alkali in the soil cannot be deposited at all.
In addition to requiring well-drained soil, pomegranate trees also have water requirements and need to be watered once every half a month.
With the construction of the mountain dragon, the water source problem has been basically solved and this development obstacle no longer exists.
The last thing is light. Pomegranates love sunlight, so when planting them, you should choose areas with sufficient sunlight and more than 1,200 hours of sunshine per year. This is conducive to the vigorous growth of the plants and increased yields. If planted in areas with poor light conditions, the pomegranates will have poor quality.
The autonomous prefecture, known as the "Moon City", has more than 2,400 hours of sunshine, more than twice the amount required by pomegranate trees.
Basically, Lianhe Township is an ideal place for growing soft-seeded pomegranates, because the rainy season is from December to March every year, and December to February is a dormant period when not much water is needed. Therefore, you only need to water them once in February and twice in March, and you don't need to worry about them when the rainy season starts in April.
In addition, apply fertilizer again during the flowering period in April, and the management of the pomegranate tree is complete.
Of course, this is only the basic requirement for extensive management. To reach the level of Zhouzhi's ideal soft-seeded pomegranate seedling base, it is necessary to layer high branches, control flowers and insects, dwarf trees, etc. every year. That is a whole science.
But just like the poplars in the north and the bamboos in the south, if the plants are not grown in authentic places, it is extremely difficult to cultivate them. But if they are grown in authentic places, it will be twice the result with half the effort.
For example, the Dendrobium that was moved from Jiachuan in Zhouzhi to Shudu. In Shudu, it was very difficult to grow, and three out of ten pavilions could not survive. But in Jiachuan, it would grow even if it was thrown on sand and stone, or on rotten wood.
There is no place to reason.
