Chapter 12 The Divergence of Rumors

Chapter 12 The Divergence of Rumors
After everyone had left, the prefect looked at Itana again. With doubts on her brows, she asked softly, "Did you do something bad recently?"

Itana blinked in confusion, "I don't think so."

The prefect opened his mouth several times to say something, but in the end he swallowed it back, and finally just reached out and patted her shoulder lightly.

"I know that you have added a lot of points to the college during this time, so please keep them." Her voice softened, "Okay, go to sleep."

Itana thought that this was also a troublemaker, but she didn't expect that the other party just left such a sentence and left. She looked at the empty lounge, shrugged, and headed towards the bedroom.

Pushing open the bedroom door, despite having confidence in the house elves, she subconsciously held her breath.

The door was pushed open silently, and the house elf Sander stood at the door, bowing to her, "The cleaning is complete, miss, I wish you a sweet dream."

After finishing speaking, he snapped his fingers and typed out, apparating and leaving the dormitory.

Looking at the clean ground and smelling the air without any peculiar smell, her mood improved a lot, and she praised the house elf.

With this good mood, she climbed into bed, relaxed, and spent a peaceful night with nothing but the daily zero o'clock prophecy.

The next day she woke up late, and when she came to the Slytherin table for dinner, she noticed that many people were looking at her, and she couldn't help wondering what the hell was wrong.

"Is there anything interesting recently?" She usually sat next to Tom and asked casually in a dress.

Tom glanced at her, "Yes, it is rumored that you joined a Muggle hobby club and wanted to let Muggles know the existence of the wizarding world."

"Ahem——" The pumpkin juice that Itana drank into her mouth almost spewed out, but she swallowed it forcefully, choking herself to cough.

Tom and his little friends watched quietly, while Abraxas took a sip of the juice and asked ponderingly, "You really did that?"

His words were full of doubt and disbelief, as if as long as she dared to answer yes, she would be rewarded with accusations and criticism.

What the hell, don't you believe it?

The corner of Itana's mouth twitched, looking around the faces of the boys, seeing that they all had similar expressions, she rolled her eyes unabashedly.

"How many people know about this rumor now?" she asked.

"Everyone," Tom spread his hands innocently, "it was announced an hour ago, and it's here, if you come earlier, you won't miss it."

"So everyone believed it? A sudden, unsubstantiated rumor." She even laughed out loud, with undisguised mockery in her eyes.

Abraxas turned his head away from her. "It's not completely groundless." He reminded, "Muggle wizards and half-bloods from other colleges, many people know that you have a good relationship with them."

He was referring to Elena and the others.

"It doesn't mean anything, Malfoy." Itana said calmly, "So you also believe what they said, I joined an organization that wants to expose the existence of wizards, right?"

"Oh, no." Abraxas opened his eyes wide and said tactfully, "Itana, you are Tom's friend, aren't you? We all have a common goal, that's why we came together."

Itana looked at Tom who had been silent and watching the play quietly since just now, "What did you tell them?"

Tom threw an unintelligible flick at Abraxas, who was visibly uncomfortable.

"It's nothing, just some ideals after graduation." Tom turned his head and gave her a faint smile, "For example, to work in the Ministry of Magic."

"Really?" Itana nodded, "Very good."

At least he didn't say something like "Muggles rule the world".

Of course, judging from Tom's increasingly proficient camouflage skills, he would definitely not say such words that are not conducive to character creation.

It was as if they were blocked by food, no one spoke again, and the atmosphere suddenly became dull.

After filling his stomach, Itana put down the knife and fork, and was about to stand up to say goodbye to them, a little boy next to Abraxas finally couldn't bear it anymore, "Itana, you really didn't join that kind of organization, did you?"

His face with tiny freckles was palpable worry, obviously in a state of tangled anxiety.

Itana turned her head, her voice was not loud but it was very clear in the noisy environment, "I can see that a person is not relying on rumors."

"You have to see for yourself, think for yourself, and then ask yourself if you want to walk with it."

These words are a bit confusing to the 11-year-old boys. They can only feel that Itana is trying to tell them not to believe the rumors, so this is a disguised denial of the rumors, right? The three boys breathed a sigh of relief.

Tom watched her leaving, squinted his eyes, explained a few words to his companions, and then stood up and chased after Itana.

He caught up with Itana outside the auditorium, and Itana didn't stop, but slowed down to keep pace with him.

"That's what you mentioned yesterday as a possibility?" Tom raised an eyebrow. "I don't think there's anything difficult about it."

"For example, I can form a society with them, about pure blood research, and then you join and spread this matter like these rumors that happened today, at least half of the suspicion and exclusion will be avoided."

"It is indeed a good way, Tom. This is a matter of position. It is not important that I join the club itself. What matters is what kind of club I join."

Tom remained silent, with the corners of his mouth slightly raised, obviously satisfied with Itana's understanding.

Itana wrapped a strand of hair around her fingers, "But it's not this matter that I want to ask you for help, I'll just do it myself."

"Oh, what the hell is that?" Tom raised one eyebrow. "I thought you wouldn't mind telling me the whole story, would you?"

In fact, I still mind a little bit, who knows if you will turn your head and give me a backstab, Itana let go of the hair wrapped around her fingers, and decided to only speak half.

She briefly told about the whole process of being involved in trouble because of saving Helen, and finally got a contemptuous look from Tom.

"You should know the consequences of every choice you make." The boy said bluntly, "You jumped into it knowing there was a pool ahead."

Itana chuckled and didn't refute.

"So what are you going to do?" Tom looked annoyed.

"Nothing to do." Itana smiled, "I'm just a student now, right? I don't even have the right to use magic outside of school, so what can I do?"

Tom's footsteps came to a sudden halt.

"So you plan to pretend that nothing happened, right?" His voice sank, his face was rarely disguised, and his dark eyes were covered with a layer of ice, "Weak people can't do anything, You get nothing, Itana."

Itana had already walked ahead of him at this moment, without looking back and waiting, "I know, even better than you, Tom."

"It's just an insignificant twist and turn, so there's no need to be too concerned."
