Arcane Journey
Chapter 573: The Spiral Tower of the Horned Demon King
In the deepest maze tunnel of the underworld, five terrifying figures were surrounding a bright bonfire, like ghosts in the dark, emitting a frightening aura. Through the flickering light of the bonfire, it can be clearly seen that the five figures were covered with black manes, like demons crawling out of the abyss of hell. They were nearly three meters tall, with heads that were a combination of coyotes and demons, fangs exposed, and bloodthirsty green light flashing in their eyes.
They sat around the campfire, forming a strange circle.
One of the gnolls had dark metal claws on its paws, and its eyes were like burning will-o'-the-wisp, flashing with cruel light.
It leaped suddenly and stabbed hard at the belly of a huge horned body on the ground.
With a "puff", the dead body was ripped open, and blood gushed out like a fountain, staining the surrounding ground red. The white, bloody intestines were all hooked out of the belly by the metal claws, and the scene was horrible.
The other four monsters' deep red eyes suddenly revealed looks of greed and desire.
They immediately sat together and began to plunder the corpse frantically, as if they were eating noodle soup, making creepy slurping sounds while chewing.
The sound was like the roar of a demon from hell, which made people shudder.
Just as the five monsters were indulging in the deliciousness of the corpse and feasting on it, a strange figure quietly emerged from the shadows of the two stalactite columns behind them and approached them silently.
The figure was like a ghost, moving silently in the dark corners, as if even the air was trembling in its presence.
When the mysterious figure was about to approach, the monster with dark metal claws on its paws suddenly raised its head alertly, as if being moved by an invisible hand, and looked in the direction of the approaching shadow. Its eyes flashed with bloodthirsty green light in the dim light, as if it could see through all those lurking in the darkness.
When it saw the general outline of the figure clearly, a cruel smile appeared on its hideous face covered in blood.
That smile was like the most vicious flower of hell blooming, full of anticipation for the coming destruction.
Unfortunately, its smile froze on its face before it could fully develop.
The black shadow that appeared in front of it just raised his hand casually, and a bone-chilling cold air gushed out, as biting as the cold wind from the depths of the underworld.
The cold air spread rapidly, and in the blink of an eye, the hideous monster was frozen into an ice sculpture. Its body trembled in the cold wind, as if even its soul was frozen in the horror of the moment.
The air around seemed to freeze, leaving only the strange figure standing there quietly.
The other four monsters also reacted quickly. The moment they realized their companion was frozen, they immediately dropped the thighs and arms they were biting, and picked up weapons such as flails, hammers, and maces that were at hand. They growled softly and looked in the direction where the black shadow was standing.
Then, they saw their companions who were frozen into ice sculptures, with dense cracks suddenly appearing all over their bodies. Finally, with a loud "crack", the ice sculpture completely shattered into ice chips on the ground and scattered around, like the last snowflake in winter, announcing the passing of a life.
This scene is not only a cruel display of the disparity in power, but also a ruthless irony of the survival instinct.
The air around them seemed to be frozen by the bone-chilling coldness emitted by the ice sculpture, leaving only the monsters' heavy breathing and the accelerated heartbeats due to fear, echoing in this cold and cruel dark area. Faced with this sudden horror, the four monsters trembled involuntarily, their eyes were full of fear and despair, and they only took a quick glance at the dark figure like the abyss, and turned around and fled without hesitation. Every step seemed to step on their trembling heartstrings, hoping to get rid of this suffocating death threat as quickly as possible.
However, fate does not seem to let them off easily.
Just when the monsters were about to completely distance themselves from the black shadow, as if they were about to break free from the endless darkness, the ground suddenly boiled, and cold shadow tentacles suddenly opened like the gates of hell, breaking out of the ground, bringing with them an irresistible breath of coldness and death.
These tentacles, like the most vicious of venomous snakes, silent but extremely deadly, danced in the air and wrapped around the monster's ankles with a creepy grace.
As the monsters howled in fear, the tentacles seemed to have life, tightly locking onto the monsters' legs, and then suddenly pulling in the opposite direction. The speed and force of the movements were jaw-dropping.
In an instant, the monsters' faces distorted by fear were swallowed up by endless darkness, leaving only sharp screams echoing in the air.
In the end, their broken bodies were torn in half by the terrifying tentacles. The spark of life was completely extinguished at that moment, and the silence of death enveloped everything.
Seeing that the five Abyss Jackals were completely dead, Brian's figure emerged from the darkness.
He looked around with an expressionless face, his brows furrowed involuntarily.
At least half a month has passed since Brian left the ancient black dragon's lair.

During the past half month, Brian has been wandering in the Underdark, searching for the figure of Yeenoghu, the King of the Gnolls.
During the search, the main focus is naturally on killing the gnolls.
According to Brian's conservative statistics, he has slaughtered at least several hundred gnolls during this period, and even killed more than a dozen abyss gnolls with demonic blood.
Hard work pays off. After Brian arrived at the core area of the extremely complex tunnel in the underground maze, he finally found the trace of the incarnation of the demon lord.
However, what Brian did not expect was that the incarnation of the King of Gnolls actually appeared in the spiral tower of the Horned Demon King Baphrodite. This is why he had been searching for him for so long.
The so-called King of Horned Demons, Baphmet, is the King of the Minotaur, and is also a demon lord whose power should not be underestimated.
The reason why the King of Gnolls appeared in the Spiral Tower, which was regarded as a holy place by the Minotaur, was naturally to deal with the group of believers of the Horned Demon King Baphrodite in the Underdark.
After all, whether in the main material world or in the Abyss, the King of the Gnolls and the King of the Minotaur, the two races, have indelible hatreds, old and new, and they are the kind that will never end. (End of this chapter)
