Arcane Journey

Chapter 575: Legendary Minotaur

A gnoll slowly stepped out of the shadows, like a ghost crawling out of the abyss.

His hunched and dirty body was tangled with tattered clothes, and the bloody and rotten armor added a sense of doomsday desolation and tragedy.

He squinted his eyes cautiously, staring at the pile of heads at the crack, and his pitiful and dirty face revealed a look of utmost fear.

It looks like a fear of the unknown, a sense of powerlessness towards fate, and a deep awe of death.

The gnoll looked so miserable, as if he was being mercilessly hunted by some terrible monster.

Even one of those green eyes was blind.

One eye was dim and lifeless, like an extinguished candle, while the other eye was just a blood-stained hole, as if telling of endless pain and despair.

Brian, who was hiding in the dark and observing, could even see from the wound on the werewolf's eye socket that the werewolf was obviously shot in the eye by a sharp arrow with a barb.

Then, the werewolf endured the severe pain and pulled the arrow out of his eye socket with all his strength, so that the entire eyeball was pulled out by the barb of the arrow.

"What a strange gnoll." Brian looked at the extremely embarrassed gnoll with a puzzled look.

He could clearly sense that this gnoll was not very strong, and his challenge level was only about level seven or eight at most.

However, what is unbelievable is that such a seemingly frail werewolf, despite being seriously injured and almost unable to move, was able to pass through the dangerous and daunting spiral tower maze tunnel alone and finally escape from the Minotaur territory.

This is a bit unreasonable.

What made Brian even more confused was that after the gnoll had finally escaped from the maze tunnel in the Minotaur's territory, his first thought was not to continue running away. Instead, he stopped and stood there, looking as if he was waiting for the Minotaur to catch up with him.

After realizing the weirdness of this werewolf, Brian hid in the darkness again and chose not to show up. He wanted to see what tricks this little guy was playing.

Soon, Brian noticed a commotion coming from deep in the rift. It sounded like someone was chasing him out, and he also judged from the trembling footsteps that the pursuer in the tunnel was definitely a Minotaur.

Brian originally thought that this werewolf who escaped from the tunnel would panic and choose to run away after feeling the approaching pressure.

However, to his great surprise, the werewolf not only showed no signs of running away, but the green light flashing in his single eye became stronger and stronger, and a hint of excitement quietly crept onto his face.

His breathing became rapid and hot, as if he had some inexplicable expectation for this sudden chase.

Seeing this situation, Brian's heart suddenly tightened, and an ominous premonition arose.

He vaguely realized that this jackal was no ordinary person and that there must be some deep meaning behind his actions.

He used himself as bait, intending to lure the group of minotaurs out of the spiral tower. His intentions were so sinister that it was chilling.

After all, the spiral tower in the Underdark is the place where Baphrodite, the king of the horned demons, is sacrificed.

The Minotaur have been worshipping this demon lord in this deep maze tunnel for countless years, which naturally contains the divine power left by the Horned Demon King.

Because of this, dealing with the Minotaur in the Spiral Tower is undoubtedly an extremely difficult task.

If you are not careful, you may attract the attention of the horned demon king Bafomet, who will instantly teleport his avatar to the main material world to assist the minotaurs in dealing with the enemy.

If they could lure these minotaurs out of the spiral tower, the effect would be different. This made Brian curious about what kind of minotaurs the gnolls were trying so hard to deal with.

Soon, under Brian's expectant gaze, the answer was revealed.

Accompanied by a burst of shocking footsteps that became increasingly stronger, in just a moment, tall and burly figures gradually appeared in the deep tunnel.

These figures were as majestic as mountains, and every step they took seemed to shake the earth and make the air around them tremble.

Brian looked at the Tauren warriors that appeared in his sight with interest.

They are tall and strong with muscular bodies, just like warriors on the ancient battlefield, exuding an inviolable majesty.

There are eight minotaurs in this group, six of whom are minotaur warriors with strength reaching the fourth level. They hold heavy battle axes or halberds, and exude a frightening fighting spirit.

The remaining two minotaurs have entered the legendary realm, and their aura is even more unfathomable.

From the weapons in the hands of the two tauren, Brian determined that their professions were druid and ranger respectively.

The druid held a staff that emitted a faint light, and ancient vines were wrapped around his body. He had obviously become one with nature. The ranger carried a longbow on his back, with arrows flashing with cold light. His eyes were as sharp as an eagle, as if he could see through everything.

When this group of minotaurs emerged from the tunnel and saw the werewolf with one eye blind, the two sides immediately became hostile.

A strong smell of gunpowder unconsciously permeated the air, as if just a spark would trigger an earth-shattering battle.

Brian stood quietly by, his eyes moving back and forth between the two sides, thinking secretly about the upcoming showdown.

This blind werewolf, instead of showing any fear when facing this group of burly minotaurs, had a cruel smile on his face, as if he was full of morbid anticipation for the upcoming battle.

Immediately afterwards, an extremely loud wolf howl pierced the sky, like a thunderous explosion, shaking every inch of the air.

The minotaurs were stunned by this sudden change and were trying to find the source of the sound, but Brian, who had been hiding in the dark, keenly noticed something unusual.

He noticed that there were inexplicable ripples in the air behind a minotaur warrior, like waves gently spreading on a quiet lake.

At this moment, a gnoll covered with pitch-black hair suddenly appeared behind the Minotaur warrior, as if it had torn a hole directly from the void, silently and hard to guard against.

"Ouch!"

Along with this terrifying wolf howl, the Minotaur warrior's extremely shrill scream followed.

The gnoll, with his mane as black as the night shaking and his hands covered with cold and shining metal claws, slashed at the minotaur warrior without hesitation. The speed of his movements and the fierce momentum were breathtaking.

This horrific blow, accompanied by the sharpness of the metal claws and the strength of the gnoll, instantly tore through the metal armor of the Minotaur warrior, leaving behind horrifying blood marks deep enough to see the bones, which was a shocking sight.

The air around seemed to freeze, leaving only the heart-pounding roars and wails, interweaving into an extremely cruel visual and auditory feast.

The fight only took a moment, and by the time the group of minotaurs noticed, they had already discovered, to their disbelief, that around them, more than a dozen cruel and bloodthirsty jackals had appeared in unison. (End of this chapter)
