Chapter 198 Talk about "Water Margin" Zhu Wu Chen Da Yang Chun
I have always liked "Water Margin", especially the text.

From the perspective of bibliographies, the sophistication of the first seventy chapters of "Water Margin" already represents the pinnacle of Chinese popular novels.Even junior high school students today can understand the characters printed hundreds of years ago (traditional characters changed to simplified characters, with punctuation marks added).

When I first started working, I read "Zheng Zhenduo Shuhua" which tells the story of the discovery of the leftover leaves of the Jiajing version of "Water Margin", and I became very interested in "Water Margin" and the Ming version of the novel.

At that time, financial resources were weak, and I only bought a large stack of Guanhuatang editions of Jin Shengtan's commentary on Water Margin in the middle and late Qing Dynasty.During that time, the better novel books I got were at most the early Qing editions of Post-Journey to the West.

The original version of the Ming version of the novel is estimated to be as rare as the Song and Yuan versions. Therefore, Zheng Zhenduo found the Ming version of "Ping Yao Zhuan" from the Huanhun Paper Factory, and his ecstatic mood is understandable.

When I was young, I bought a lot of books. Except playing mahjong, I bought all the books (losing), and I didn’t do my job very well.

The advantage is that you can see and buy more version catalogs.I remember that very few novels were banned in the Ming Dynasty, except for Qu You's "Jiandeng Xinhua", which was reported to be banned for its heretical and outrageous content, and "Water Margin" was probably the only novel that was officially banned. up.

The main reason for the ban was that the influence of "Water Margin" was too great. During the reign of Chongzhen in the late Ming Dynasty, there were internal and external troubles, and some people reported the Water Margin, so the authorities had to ban it.

Personal estimate: Water Margin is very likely to be the most created fan fiction in Ming and Qing Dynasties among the four great classics. It is true that many peasant uprisings have learned it, and it has a far-reaching influence on the creation of martial arts novels in later generations.

The text of "Water Margin" is extremely wonderful. If the first [-] chapters are determined to be written by Shi Naian, according to Shi Naian's life, at the end of the Yuan Dynasty, he participated in the planning under Zhang Shicheng's curtain (the character design is somewhat similar to the wise star Wu Yong).

The story of "Water Margin", personal guess: it generally originated from the Southern Song Dynasty, and even many story characters directly came from the story of the era when Song Jiang's uprising.

The story of outsmarting the birthday card may be true.

In addition, it can be seen from Gong Kai's "Song Jiang 36 People's Praise" and "Praise Preface" in the historical notes "Gui Xin Miscellaneous Knowledge" of the poet Zhou Mi in the late Song Dynasty and early Yuan Dynasty:

"The story of Songjiang is seen in the street talk, and it is not well read. Although there are masters such as Li Song's biography...and at the same time, see "Dongdu Shilue Zhongshu Shilang Hou Meng Biography" has a sparse article, Chen "The plan to control thieves" Yun: 36 people from the Songjiang River ran rampant in Heshuo, and there were tens of thousands of officers and soldiers in Jingdong who dared not resist, and their talents must have surpassed others. If they were pardoned and surrendered, they would ask Fang La to redeem themselves, and the chaos in the southeast might be quelled..."

1. The story of Song Jiang was widely circulated in the Southern Song Dynasty. Perhaps the story books of "The Green-faced Beast" and "The Flower Monk" by later storytellers all came from "street talk".

2. The story of Song Jiang's crusade against Fang La after Song Jiang was ordered to security was undoubtedly initiated by the "Zan Preface", because there is no such thing in historical facts, it is just a "out of thin air imagination" created by later generations.

Another recognized origin of "Water Margin" is "The Last Event of Xuanhe in the Great Song Dynasty".I have also read this book. There are stories about "Tong Guan Zheng Fang La" and the story of "Tong Guan Zheng Fang La" and the story of 36 people from Song Jiang who were summoned by Zhang Shuye after they got together. Very contradictory.

From this, I personally estimate that the story of Song Jiang's conquest of Fang La is completely inconsistent with historical facts. When the source is in "Zan Xu", the sporadic stories may be formed in the late Yuan and early Ming Dynasties, and the complete book is in "Water Margin".

The story characters in "Water Margin" first originated in street talk, and later developed in storytellers. At the end of Yuan Dynasty, why more and more literati participated in the creation of it, personally think:
In the Southern Song Dynasty, the end of the Yuan Dynasty, and the end of the Ming Dynasty, the spiritual sustenance of the literati in "Water Margin" is just like the expression in "Preface to Praise":
Zhizhi and Jiang, who steal names with them without giving up, and steal their tracks without concealment, are they like the chaotic officials and thieves of the world, fearing the shadows and walking on their own.Alas, compared with the disciples who meet Shenggong, who are like Zhi and Jiang!

I once saw that in the preface of the Ming edition of "Water Margin", there is a saying: Wu Yong, who hates the world without Niu Gao, made Ha Chi rampant in Liaodong.

Shi Naian's "Water Margin", it is rumored that the original title of the book was "The Legend of the Rivers and Lakes".

Why "Water Margin" has such a wide influence among literati and chariot dealers, personal opinion:

It is not "loyalty", but the spirit of "chivalry" derived from "Gao Zhi".

As for the plot of being Zhaoan, part of it is indeed historical fact, and to a large extent it is YY after the literati participated in the creation.

The common people probably don't like this plot very much. In other words, the common people say: "It's none of my business if I order it or not."

The appeal of the spiritual core of the Water Margin lies in "chivalry" and "elimination of violence and peace, and justice for the sky."

For example: Zhi Duoxing Wu Xuexue (Wu Yong) has 36 praises and is not highly rated:
"The ancients used their wisdom to protect the country and the people. It's a pity that what they did is a drunk and lustful person."

Such comments appear, according to the background of the late Song Dynasty, the meaning of the 36-like "Preface to Zan":
"Rebellious ministers and thieves" and "holy princes" are not as good as Song Jiang's robbers (at times of national crisis)!

The list of 36 Tiangangs in "Water Margin" is almost the same as "36 Likes" and "The Last Event of Xuanhe of the Great Song Dynasty". The biggest controversy is "Sun Li".

The list of 72 Disha is mostly original by Shi Naian. Due to too many characters and limited space, it is inevitable that almost everyone will not have a story and a lot of scenes like 36 Tiangang.

Among them, the one I am most interested in is Zhu Wu, the "Di Kui Xing" magic military strategist who ranks first in the 72 Disha.

Presumably, when Shi Naian created this character, he was entangled in contradictions. I understand it as "dare not, unwilling".

If Shi Naian's experience is solid, as Zhang Shicheng's counselor, he can freely play the role of "Smart Star Wu Yong", but if his strategy ability is crushed in the story, it is estimated that It is really not daring and unwilling.

Therefore, in the setting of the "array" in the battle of the large army, during the Liangshan Northern Expedition and the Liao Dynasty, Zhu Wu "knew the array", but Wu Yong did not know the "array"; Zhu Wu knew the array, but suffered heavy casualties.

It is even more interesting in the fictional story of Liangshan's crusade against Fangla. The Fangla uprising was a "Mingjiao" and "eating vegetables are evil". Unfortunately, the Red Scarf Army joined by Zhu Chongba (Zhu Hongwu) was also a Mingjiao.

Zhu Wu is one of the main characters in Liangshan's crusade against Fang La in "Water Margin". Liangshan's heroes conquered Fang La with heavy casualties, and Zhu Wu even lost the lives of his descendants Chen Da (Xu Da) and Yang Chun (Chang Yuchun).

The Northern Expedition of Liangshan, the great power of the Liao Kingdom, went smoothly (the heroes of Liangshan were not damaged), and the rebel Fang La, who was wiped out within a year by Tong Guan, was conquered, but more than half of them were killed or injured.why?Fang La, Mingjiao also, probably in Zhang Shicheng's camp, the Red Scarf Army Mingjiao represented by Zhu Yuanzhang is more difficult to deal with than the Northern Expedition!Xu Da and Chang Yuchun did not die during the Northern Expedition. Since the author writes in a cryptic way, the most exciting plot kills, these two should die by the butcher's knife of their own Mingjiao!
If Shi Naian dared to "kill" Zhu Wuye, then he would really be considered bold, but unfortunately this is too obvious.

It is estimated that he really did not dare to bet on Zhu Chongba's "narrow-mindedness".

Not only Zhu Wu was one of the few people who finally achieved good results in the Water Margin (he went to Gongsun Sheng to learn Taoism with Fan Rui), but another man named "Zhu" in Tiangang, the bearded man Zhu Dian, also died well.

The other two miscellaneous fish-level characters "Zhu Fu" and "Zhu Gui" surnamed "Zhu" in Disha were both killed during the crusade against "Fang La". They died of an infectious disease and plague.

The role of Zhu Wu in Water Margin is very interesting, and it runs through the author's entangled creative state of "dare not, unwilling" in creating this character from beginning to end.

To be honest, it is clear that the original intention of the author is to smear "Zhu Chongba" like Jin Yong's "Yi Tian Tu Long Ji".

Jin Yong dared, Shi Naian's era, he really didn't dare.Don't write it in a cryptic way, if it is discovered, it will really implicate the whole family.

In addition, Zhu Wu's asterisk is "Dikuixing", the author is very particular about originality, hahaha.

However, as a fan of Zhu Chongba, Xu Da, and Chang Yuchun, I was super depressed when I first watched Water Margin.

What?Known as the last person in the era of cold weapons in the Celestial Dynasty who can command a large army to fight and can enter the top ten philosophers of the Wu Temple, has he been insinuated as a dispensable fish?
Tiaojianhu, uh, "Tiaojian" is still a military term, isn't that Han Shizhong's patent.

What does Yang Chun's "white flower snake" allude to?Chang Shiwan, known as "the world's number one vanguard", is so cowardly?
Chen Da, Yang Chun, the author has named these two miscellaneous fish characters well, I think it will be very cool. But in the era he lived in, he really didn't dare to put a lot of effort into shaping these two characters, it was obviously too dangerous.
