Chapter 15 Chuck II

Chapter 15 Chuck II
"No, I won't marry her just because you said to marry her!" Anger trembled in Zhuo Ke's body.

"Control your emotions, son." Vigrich stood in front of Zhuo Ke and said with a suppressed voice. His white hair and brown eyes were still piercing beneath his forehead lines. "People outside the garden can hear you."

"I don't care!" roared Zhuo Ke, "I won't marry her!"

It's so funny that he doesn't have the slightest say in his marriage.

"In the past, you could still use your young age as an excuse," Wigrich sighed, "but you are already 26 years old, and I won't accommodate you anymore."

"Accommodate me?" Zhuo Ke asked back, "You only make me do what you want me to do!"

"Everything I do for you is so that you can become a competent ruler in the future." Wigrich said.

"It's a 'competent ruler' in your eyes." Zhuo Ke corrected Vigrich.

His father was always smug about himself, and Chuck had had enough. He was fed up with his opinions being ignored, fed up with being arranged by his father every step of the way in the future.

He justifies his actions with the future of the empire and his father's love, but in fact he is only for his own selfishness.

"What? What do you mean?" Vigrich asked in amazement. "What I have taught you is the key to the stability of the empire. It is my life's experience. All you need to do is listen to it."

"I've heard enough," Zhuo Ke refused, "You don't want me to be the ideal heir, but to be a second you. You don't care what I think, just like a mother."

Vigrich opened his mouth to say something, but then closed his mouth again.

"If that's the case, why don't you go to Monty?" Zhuo Ke sneered. "He's more like you than me."

"You are the firstborn, and this is your birthright." Vigerich sat down on the marble that divided the garden bed. "Although I disagreed with my father when I was growing up, it turned out that I was right and he was wrong."

"Then give me a chance," Chuck said, "and let me prove myself."

"This time is your chance," Vigrich folded his arms, "marry Lozaria, and your children will be the heirs of Hastrza and Vivalia."

"She's my aunt, my mother's sister."

Chuck has little memory of his biological mother, who died giving birth to Monty when he was four years old.It wasn't until the age of nine or ten that Di Ya's appearance filled his need for a mother.

"She is two years younger than you, and she is said to be very beautiful." Wigrich said, "You have no blood relationship, and besides, we all have the blood of Apollyon."

Chuck frowned, turning his back on his father. Before the rising sun reached the zenith, the shadows under the mulberry trees in the garden of Apolion Palace swayed with the summer wind, and the fragrance of lavender was accompanied by insects.

"I thought that after such a long time, you should be able to understand my intentions, son." Vigrich's voice came from behind, "I care about you a lot."

"I care about you too, Father," Zhurk replied, "but that doesn't mean we have to agree on everything."

"You must marry Lozaria," Vigrich insisted. "This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. In the future, they will be re-incorporated into the empire."

"Since when did you care about the territorial expansion of the empire?" Zhuo Ke turned his head and asked, "You haven't provoked any war in the past 30 years."

"Sometimes we don't need to use war to expand our territory," Vigrich said. "If your own strength and influence are strong enough, other lords will naturally scramble to follow. I have been waiting for this moment."

"If we don't try some more radical methods, we will never catch up with the Holy Palacis Empire." Zhuo Ke disagreed.

The "Rebellion of Apostasy" not only caused the Hastza Empire to lose the capital Starfall City and the gold mine in Tragia, but the trade route of its Starfall Strait was also controlled by the Holy Palacis Empire.

The believers of the Supreme God are all over the land of Hastza, and they who worship the sun will always be a hidden danger for the people of the stars.

"We are not ready to take any risks," Vigrich said, shaking his head, "Your grandfather's two failed southern expeditions are still dragging down the empire's economy."

"Not every war is doomed," Zhuoke said. "We have the best swordsmen on the continent. When Odoma comes to the east coast with his fleet of Gray Harbor, we can fight Papa at sea." The first battle of the Lasis Empire."

"No matter how powerful they are, they are just inexperienced young people," Wigrich said, "and the Knights of Palacis were forged by continuous border wars."

"The gods of the stars will be on our side, and they will never support those apostates."

"That's not enough," Vigrich murmured, "The kingdom of Vivalia is the key to everything, and we need their black army."

"The Black Army is indeed Vivalia's elite," Zhuo Ke said affirmatively, "but I don't think the queen can control them. The loyalty of the Black Army belongs to Rudomir Korva."

After the death of King Izdor I, the nobles of Vivalia did not choose the warlike grand prince Rudomir, but the young Princess Lozaria as the new ruler.

Presumably Rudomir did not have much affection for the Queen's sister who was sitting on the throne that belonged to him.

"The Korva family has always been united." Vigrich stood up. "Rudomier and your mother are also siblings. If things don't go well, let her bridge the gap."

"Where are the dukes of Vivalia?" Drake asked. "You know we have to deal with them."

"Most of them only care about their own land, just let them taste some sweetness." Wigrich said nonchalantly.

"Well," Zhuo Ke said, "if I agree to marry the queen, you have to promise me one condition."

Vigrich sighed. "This is about the future of the empire, not a bargaining chip you use to negotiate terms."

"I know I messed up the carpenter's matter," Zhuo Ke said seriously, "I have learned my lesson, let me be in charge of the investigation of the Star Pantheon, this time I will not let you down."

Vigerich looked at Zhuo Ke with a slight frown, his pupils dilated slightly.Zhuo Ke still stared at his father seriously.

"Okay, I promise you," Vigrich said, "when we return from the Hall of Ashes, I will have Hagen tell you all about his discoveries."

Chuck nodded contentedly.

"Be careful, we don't know who they are yet," Wigrich warned.

"I will, father."
