Chapter 30 The Big Dog Guarding the Sorcerer's Stone

Chapter 30 The Big Dog Guarding the Sorcerer's Stone
Rigg sang the school song loudly before the big dog sprang at them.

Hagrid sometimes hummed this little tune while cooking.

The sound seemed to confuse the big dog, and it froze.

The raised paw tightened a few times in bewilderment, and Harazi stopped in mid-air.

Although only for a few seconds.

But it bought time for Harry, who clung to the door.

Harry fumbled to turn the doorknob. Between Filch and death, he preferred Filch.

Everyone turns around, you squeeze me and you squeeze you out of this gate of hell.

They had never moved so fast, even faster than when Snape had asked them to take notes in Potions.

Rigg was the last to come out, and he slammed the door shut.

The angry roar of the big dog can also be vaguely heard.

Then, the big dog, who couldn't see the stranger, sat down again.

Rigg felt the floor shake.

Now, the fivesome are back in the safety of the hallway.

This time, everyone tacitly did not speak.

They looked at each other in the dark, then ran away, almost galloping.

No one cared about footsteps anymore.

Filch must have been busy looking for them elsewhere.

They saw no sign of him, nor did they hear the meow of the strange warning.

What's more, I can't care about it at all.

The five of them just wanted to get away from that dangerous big dog as far as possible.

They ran to the portrait of the Fat Lady at the door of the Gryffindor lounge on the eighth floor before stopping.

In the middle, Neville almost went up the wrong stairs, but fortunately, Rigg came over quickly with his quick eyes.

"Where did you all go?"

The fat lady who just came back from a date asked in confusion, she didn't even remember opening the door for these little wizards.

They were sweating profusely, and the sleeves of their wizard robes had already been rolled up.

Hermione was even still wearing her nightgown, which was even more crumpled from the tugging all the way.

Rigg and Harry are fine.

Hermione was only sweating slightly, her chest heaving and exhaling.

Neville didn't dare to catch his breath when he ran, and he suffocated himself half to death.

Now bent over with his hands on his knees, gasping for breath.

Ron was the worst one, kneeling directly on the ground and retching.

He hadn't learned much magic since entering Hogwarts.

Instead, keep fit and exercise every day.

"Don't ask, 'pig nose, pig nose,'" Harry gasped for the door command.

The Fat Lady shook her head, and the portrait spun forward.

They staggered into the common room, Rigg dragging the dead dogs of Harry and Ron into armchairs.

Several people sighed comfortably as soon as they sat down, and only now did they feel alive again.

This night was really exciting for the little wizard.

For a while, no one spoke.

As for Neville, he looked like he would never speak again.

He just slumped in the armchair with a pale face, staring blankly ahead.

"What the hell are they trying to do? Keep such a thing in the school!"

Ron growled under his breath, "If there's a dog that needs training, it's that one."

Rigg knew what the three-headed dog was guarding, but he had no reason to know.

So I just panted silently and didn't say a word.

Hermione's panting eased, but so did her bad temper.

"You, you guys, what's the use of eyes?" she said angrily. "Don't you see what it's standing on?"

"On the floor?" Harry guessed. "I didn't look at its feet, I was just looking at its head."

Harry was embarrassed to say that he was petrified, but he was not as good as a girl like Hermione.

Rigg had seen it from the moment he entered that room, and Hermione's words followed: "No, it wasn't on the floor. It was standing on a trapdoor. The big dog was obviously guarding something."

Hermione stood up, glaring at Harry angrily.

She thought it was mainly Harry's problem.

Rigg is a good student, obviously no problem.

Ron was even more of a fool.

"I hope you're proud of yourselves, we were all nearly killed." Hermione smirked, but there was no smile in her eyes.

"Or worse, I'll be expelled from school for you too." Hermione emphasized the word you, echoing Rigg's initial defense of Harry.

"Well, if you don't object, I'm going to bed."

Hermione tossed her hair and turned away.

I don't want to say a word to this group of people.

But in the middle of the journey, he remembered that Li Ge had kindly dragged her to run together.

So, looking back at Rigg, "Good night."

Ron stared at her back and opened his mouth wide in surprise.

"Go to bed, we have no objection," he said. "What's this called? It's like we dragged her away."

Ron didn't see that Hermione was just saying good night to Rigg, which made his impression of Hermione a little better.

Harry could see it, but Hermione said exactly what he thought.

He is now overwhelmed by guilt, and he is very worried that his good friends and classmates will be expelled together because of his involvement.

Neville was still in a daze, looking into the distance.

Rigg stuffed him with a fluffy cushion, and he just took it mechanically and held it in his arms.

Neville was really freaking out today.

Seeing Neville like this, Rieg called Harry and Ron, and brought Neville back to the dormitory.

After lying down, Neville might finally have finished buffering, and Rigg heard him cry softly.

There was also the sound of Harry turning over irritably, turning back and forth.

After rustling for a long time, the tired little wizards finally fell asleep.

Harry went to bed thinking he was going to visit Hagrid.

When Hagrid took him to Gringotts to withdraw money, he also gave the goblin a letter from Headmaster Dumbledore.

"It's about 'that thing' in the underground vault of No. 713." This was what Hagrid said mysteriously that day.

After reading it, the goblin took Hagrid and him to the 713 vault to pick up a small dirty package.

The last time he was in Hagrid's room, Harry also saw a small piece of paper.

It was a report cut from the Daily Prophet.

"The investigation into the break-in at Gringotts on 31 July is still ongoing... the underground vault searched by the break-ins was in fact emptied earlier in the day.

Although Hagrid refused to answer last time, isn't this right?
Packages being taken, wizards trying to snatch them, and Hogwarts' new corridors that are not allowed to be entered and guarded by big dogs.

Harry pondered for a long time how to share his analysis with Rigg and Ron, and fell asleep before he knew it.

Rigg was also thinking on the bed, how could he tell Harry tactfully that the package contained the Philosopher's Stone.

Rigg remembered it was the Sorcerer's Stone, and maybe some clearance tests like adventure games.

But it's not difficult.

There is also a key figure, Hagrid.

Thinking about how to ask Harry to go find Hagrid together, Rieg also fell asleep.

A night without dreams.

"Why are you still at Hogwarts?!" Malfoy couldn't believe his eyes.

He stared at Rigg and Harry, who were eating, and shouted angrily.
