Only in this way can we find a way to cut it off, and enter the state of emptiness without desire and color, as if alive but not born, as if dead but not dead.

Only in this state can one understand what is called the seventh consciousness, mana consciousness.

Mana is translated from Sanskrit, which means "meaning". It seems to be the same as the sixth consciousness, but in fact the sixth consciousness is the conscious mind, which is the instinctive desire of the body through external perception.

And the seventh consciousness Mana consciousness should be called the root of consciousness, which is different from the sixth consciousness consciousness heart.

The root of consciousness focuses on the perception of "I", which is the human thought after abandoning all desires and forms. It is also called obsession. It is the source of delusion for all beings.

At this point, the Buddha and the devil are just a thought, clinging to me is going to the way of the devil, and letting go of the obsession can cultivate the Buddha freely.

After enlightening Mana Consciousness, then cut off false self-obsession, everything is empty, colorless and stainless, and you can see the eighth consciousness, Alaya Consciousness.

Alaya Consciousness is the root of all consciousness, which is similar to or the same kind of existence as the Taoist said.

Whether it is the Alaya consciousness or the primordial spirit, they all come first and then become the master. Here, the first coming refers to before the conception, and the second going refers to after passing away. So far, everything is empty.
