Chapter 2341 Night Going
Old Nan went to bed early. He was in high spirits tonight. If Nan Jue hadn’t stopped him, he would have wanted to drink two taels of wine before going to bed.

After Old Nan rested, Nan Jue drove away, took a detour, and entered through the back door of Wu Garden.

The door opened, and I didn't see any servants waiting on me, but the lights were on all the way.

Although there were few servants in the Mist Garden, they were not so few that not a single person could be seen.

Nan Jue's lips curled up slightly. He had been to this Mist Garden many times when he was a child, but he remembered every path clearly. He deliberately took a detour and passed under Jiang Yu's master bedroom window to go to the medicine garden at the back.

Jiang Yu was still there, bending over tending to the herbs, with his pipe, which he always carried with him, tucked around his waist.

Nan Jue squatted down and said the scientific name of a herb, "Is this the one I found two years ago and sent to you?"

Jiang Yu glanced at him and asked, "You sent a lot of herbs. Do you remember every one of them?"

"Everything I give you has passed through my hands, so of course I remember it."

"What's the point of remembering? You're not willing to learn my skills."

Jiang Yu rolled his eyes at him, threw the used hand towel to him, stood up and picked up the pipe.

Nan Jue stood up and said with a smile, “Jiao Jiao has learned it, right? You taught her very well.”

"What else? The person you two gave me is not interested in anything else but this. I don't really want to teach her. I have to find someone to pass on the skills to. Otherwise, how can I bear to close my eyes?"

Nan Jue’s heart skipped a beat. This was the first time he heard such open-mindedness and indifference from Jiang Yu. He felt relaxed and resigned to his fate, which was several levels higher than accepting one’s fate.

He hid the strange look that flashed across his eyes and smiled gently, "I'll learn. Please wait for me. If you hadn't taught me these years when I was a child, I wouldn't have been able to recognize so many herbs."

He didn't lie. He had been through life and death, and even the people around him couldn't be trusted. He was able to distinguish whether what he came into contact with was poison or medicine, all thanks to the skills Jiang Yu taught him.

Unfortunately, he didn't make it to the path of studying medicine, but chose another, more dangerous path. He couldn't say more, there was a rule that required him to keep his mouth shut.

Jiang Yu didn't ask. She was already this old, and the only thing she regretted in her life was getting married, and the thing she regretted the least was having children.

Nan Jue is very outstanding and has grown into a child that others praise. Jiang Yu doesn't say it and rarely praises him, but she is proud of him in her heart. She doesn't ask what he does, as long as she can see a living person every year.

"What are you doing here? You don't have to keep me company, old man?"

Nan Jue couldn't help but laugh. They had been arguing for a lifetime and never gave each other a good look. They would argue with each other whenever they met, but neither of them would look for him again.

He knew that his mother didn't have that intention and was devoted to medicine. Getting married was more like a way to fill a gap in her life, nothing more.

But the same cannot be said for my father.

This is the one he misses all his life.

"I missed you. Come and keep you company."

Jiang Yu glanced at him and asked, "How long will you stay this time?"

"Leave early tomorrow morning."

Nan Jue was frank. He always told his parents the truth whenever they asked him about something. But in recent years, they asked less often, as if they had a tacit understanding that they had never discussed with each other. But they couldn't hide it in their expressions. No matter how hard they tried to hide it, he would still be able to see the clues.

The conversation turned much gentler, "Tomorrow night is fine."

"Then you should leave in the morning. Don't disrupt your plans easily to avoid unexpected events."
