Chapter 68 Escape (IV)

"A few days ago, a man found me and gave me these..." Dila leaned on the wall, panting heavily, and sat down slowly.

The high-speed battle with all his strength made him, who was already weak, almost exhausted.

"Sian Weistein and... these medicines?"

"CPH4..." Dila said word by word, with a weak but solemn expression, as if calling the terrifying real name of the abyssal demon.

"This medicine...how could you have it too?"

Boros squatted on the ground, the revolver in his hand trembling slightly, and pressed hard against the man's chin.

His eyes were as sharp as two sharp knives, as if he wanted to nail Dila to the wall with anger.

"Sure enough, I guessed right... Did they dispense this drug to you, with a fancy name: 'Medical Benefits'?"

Dilla spoke slowly, and the sound of life passing by was lingering in her ears, clearly audible.

But those slow sentences were like poisoned steel needles, about to stab Boros' heart insidiously.

"why?"

"what why?"

"Why would he rather die than give up resistance?"

"You should tell me the answer, Xita. I still know too little about human beings."

Yawei stared at the slowly dimming screen, stroked the girl's silver hair, and whispered in her ear.

"..." Xi Tan didn't make a sound, but turned her head sideways, grabbed Yawei's collar, and gently wiped away her tears.

"I don't know...Anyway, I'm afraid of death, and I'm getting more and more afraid of death." The girl lay in his arms and continued talking sullenly.

"Ha..." In the darkness after the movie ended, Yawei chuckled lightly, resting his chin on her forehead, rubbing back and forth a few times, enjoying the sweet tenderness of the moment together.

"Don't be afraid, I'm here." He murmured softly, and tightly hugged Xita who was curled up into a ball.

"We want to make another promise, based on the previous one."

"Why?" Yawei asked in a low voice following her intention.

"It was a stranger before, but not anymore."

"What promise?"

Yawei threw away the rubbish, took Xita's warm hand, walked slowly along the sparse crowd, and left the screening room after the show.

Leaving the movie theater, Xi Tan could not help shivering due to the blowing cold wind, and quickly hid in Yawei's arms.

"I haven't thought about it yet." She stepped on her toes and sucked hard on the man's neck, leaving a deep blood red streak.

"Why do you want to kiss here?" Yawei was a little strange, he didn't feel any pain, just a little itchy.

"It's becoming more and more like a human..." Xita smiled irresponsibly, turned her head and dragged him, and walked towards home.

"I don't like promises. I don't like promises themselves, nor do I like making promises to people." The sound of rain beat on his gradually icy body, and the blood flowed until it dried up, leaving an indelible color on the ground .

Boros gently smoothed Dila's eyes that could no longer close, and said softly, as if he was afraid of accidentally waking up the sleeping man.

"Thank you for your last gift." This man as strong as an iron tower slowly lowered his high head, and a fire from outside was ignited in the cold heart made of steel.

The old firewood is burned out, but a new fire is passed on.

"he died?"

At some point, Rottweiler quietly came to Boros' side.

"He's dead." The man was silent for a few seconds before confirming.

"I have no doubts about the result, I'm just curious about the process." Rottweiler chuckled, watching Boros silently leaning over, using the fire to ignite the man's completely cold body.

"What's there to be curious about? Is Bit okay?" Boros waited quietly for Dilla's body to be swallowed by the fiery snake before slowly answering Rottweiler's question.

"I can't die...I'm really worried about you now, boss."

"Where did it start?" He asked softly, his words were vague, but the two people present knew it well.

"Promise...maybe sooner."

"..." Boros fell into silence again, which was far longer than the sum of the previous times.

He was hesitating whether to drag his teammates into the bottomless vortex.

The man who dragged him down the abyss, now even the body is only a warm embers.

"I can't tell you, Rottweiler, it's not that I don't want to, it's just that I can't."

"Why?" Rottweiler raised his eyebrows in surprise, opened his mouth, hesitated for a few seconds, and couldn't help asking.

"There is still hope for you to live, Rottweiler, you have Bit, and Melissa... Only crazy people who really have nothing are qualified to know all the secrets of tonight."

"You..." Rottweiler gritted his back molars hard, his anger seemed to break through the monstrous storm.

"Don't worry, I won't do anything stupid." Boros said solemnly, making the second promise tonight.

"Whatever you want!" Rottweiler glared at Boros fiercely, threw the emergency medicine that had been in his pocket all the time to the man's face, turned around and left without looking back.

Boros stood where he was, silently staring at the red-haired woman's receding figure, letting the manic rain erode him from head to toe.

After a while, he sighed.

Cleaning up Dilla's remaining embers in a bag, carefully putting them in his pocket near his chest, he walked away from this winding narrow alley with heavy steps.

Walking to the street, looking around, in the night sky, dots of bright neon lights are dotted by the grand smoke and rain into clusters of psychedelic flowers.

Only then did he realize that he had returned to the world from hell.

Slowly letting go of the hanging heart, Boros took a deep breath, devouring the breath of this world greedily.

It was late at night.

In this noisy night with the sound of rain, there are still scattered pedestrians on the street, coming and going.

There are company workers who walk on their feet, and drug addicts who walk frivolously and wobble.

There are slow old people, and there are children who follow their parents and jump around.

Single people keep their heads down and run, while couples stroll leisurely.

One umbrella after another covered their expressions, only the sound of joyful laughter and long sighs were heard.

Boros doesn't like Night City, and hates this city that eats people from the bottom of his heart.

There are too many innocent or guilty people drowning here, sinking into the bottomless abyss.

But at this moment, even he couldn't help feeling from the bottom of his heart that this demon had an indescribable beauty.

Like a poisonous flower, it blooms with deadly beauty.

"After watching the movie, what are we going to eat later?"

Boros walked slowly on the side of the street in the rain, trying to imitate normal people, took off the windbreaker on his body, put it on top of his head, and covered his body.

Faintly, he heard a couple talking softly.

"It's all up to you." The blue-eyed man chuckled, sharing the same umbrella with the silver-haired girl, and gradually moved away from the sight he wanted to explore.

Boros shook his head and laughed, only thinking that he was nervous and overthinking, so he turned and walked in the opposite direction.
