Chapter 55 The Plague
Xu Miaomiao glanced at Gu Yuanniang gratefully, then turned and left.

When he came to the man's house, there was a violent coughing sound in the house, and the smell of herbs around him lingered for a long time and could not dissipate.

"Doctor Xu, please—"

Following the man's gesture of invitation, Xu Miaomiao walked in.

The woman lay weakly on the bed, without a trace of blood on her face, and her haggard cheeks made people feel very distressed.

It may be that opening the door brought in a little cool breeze, and the woman started to cough violently as soon as she lay down.

Xu Miaomiao didn't care about other things, pinched her nose and began to feel the woman's pulse.

Xu Miaomiao was a little surprised by her weak pulse, as she expected, it was the plague, probably because the man was stronger and not infected.

"Doctor Xu, what is my wife's disease?" The man asked cautiously, looking at Xu Miaomiao with some urgency in his eyes.

Xu Miaomiao called the man outside, then lifted the veil, looked at the man and said, "It's the plague."

The man was shocked, and looked at Xu Miaomiao in disbelief: "How could it be, Doctor Xu, it's not true, right?"

Xu Miaomiao sighed helplessly. Being infected with the plague in this era is basically a death sentence, but she can only nod her head.

Suddenly, a pungent smell came, and Xu Miaomiao followed it to the side of the well, and found that the water at the bottom of the well was jet black, deeper than what she saw with Erbao last time.

"Has this water always been this color?" Xu Miaomiao asked aloud.

The man thought about it, and counted the days with his fingers: "No, no, it seems like it's been here since three days ago. I thought it was nothing, so I didn't care about it. Who would have thought that there would be a bad smell later on, just as now."

"Okay, I see." Xu Miaomiao nodded, and packed up her medicine box: "Take me to a few other houses to see, maybe there are some clues."

The man nodded, took Xu Miaomiao to the door of another family, pointed to the courtyard inside: "This is it, Dr. Xu, I won't go in."

The man said with some embarrassment, if it was really a plague, he would be afraid too.

Xu Miaomiao nodded and knocked on the door alone.

"Dangdangdang—"

"Who is it?" came a frail girl, coughing a little while speaking.

"I'm a doctor. I heard that someone in your family is sick and I came to see you."

Only a heavy sigh was heard, and the woman opened her mouth: "You go, we have no money."

Xu Miaomiao was stunned, and quickly explained: "I am a free clinic this time, and there is no money."

As soon as I heard this, the door was opened in the next second, and I saw the woman blushing, coughing non-stop, and holding a crying child in her arms.

Xu Miaomiao walked in slowly, only to see a man lying on the bed, his face was pale and it looked like his time was running out.

Xu Miaomiao didn't dare to delay, and immediately took out the silk thread to diagnose the pulse.

The same situation as the previous family, I am afraid it is the plague.

Xu Miaomiao shook her head, and could only take out a little herbal medicine from the space and handed it to the woman: "Drink it first, it may not be effective but it can delay for a while."

Seeing the herbal woman's excitement, she almost knelt down and looked at Xu Miaomiao with gratitude in her eyes: "Thank you, thank you."

Xu Miaomiao felt sore, helped the woman up, looked at her and said, "You don't need to say thank you, can you show me your well?"

The woman nodded and led Xu Miaomiao into the back room.

Looking at the color of the bottom of the well, Xu Miaomiao was startled. Although there was no such smell as before, the gray and black color still revealed the characteristics of water problems.

Along the way, Xu Miaomiao was thoughtful. There was obviously a problem with the water at the bottom of the well. Is there something wrong with the river that was brought in, or something fell from the water?
Thinking of this, Xu Miaomiao was startled, Wang Xing'er had drugged the well in her home back then, luckily she found out early.

If there is a problem at the bottom of the well, then your own home...

Xu Miaomiao didn't dare to think about it any more, and rushed to her home without stopping.

After returning home, seeing Erbao and Xiaobao playing in the yard as usual, Song Wushao was relieved to sit on the stone table and read his book.

As soon as I entered the room, I saw Gu Yuanniang cooking.

"Liu Niang, where's Weiwei?"

Gu Yuanniang looked at Xu Miaomiao, tasted the saltiness of the dishes with a spoon, and responded: "You said Weiwei, she went to take home to eat."

"Eat?" Xu Miaomiao frowned, why did she always have a bad feeling.

"Where did you go?"

"It's her close friend." Gu Yuanniang replied to Xu Miaomiao's words: "It's Wang Buyi's house next door."

When Xu Miaomiao heard this, she hurried to the next door to drag Song Weiwei back.

As soon as she entered the door, she saw Song Weiwei holding the pastry and preparing to eat it.

"Miaomiao, do you want to eat something together?"

Wang Buyi warmly invited Xu Miaomiao, but Xu Miaomiao was not in the mood to talk to them at this time, and quickly patted the pastry off Song Weiwei's hand.

Song Weiwei looked at the cakes distressedly, and said to Xu Miaomiao dissatisfied: "Xu Miaomiao, what do you want!"

"Come home with me." Xu Miaomiao didn't have time to explain, she just wanted to take Xu Song Weiwei away first.

"I'm not going, I'm just eating here."

"Weiwei! Don't be petty." Xu Miaomiao scolded, and Song Weiwei stopped.

Before leaving, Xu Miaomiao still looked back at the dishes on the table: "The flu is rampant recently, it's better not to use the water from the bottom of the well."

Back home, Song Weiwei pushed Xu Miaomiao's hand away dissatisfied, and looked at her dissatisfied: "Why don't you let me eat?"

"Weiwei, I went to the doctor today, and several family members have flu coughs and fevers. I suspect it's the plague."

"Is it really a plague?" Hearing Xu Miaomiao's words, Gu Yuanniang came out with a spoon.

Xu Miaomiao nodded solemnly, and led Gu Yuanniang and Song Weiwei to look at the well in her home.

Sure enough, it was black.

Gu Yuanniang was a little puzzled: "It's strange, it was normal when I was cooking and scooping water just now, why did it change color all of a sudden?"

"Liu Niang, thank you for your hard work." Xu Miaomiao said solemnly: "Today's dishes have to be redone, using the water in that jar."

Saying that, Xu Miaomiao pointed to the water tank in the distance, which is the spring water in her space, which can not only improve immunity, but the most important thing is that it is relatively clean.

Gu Yuanniang nodded and looked at Xu Miaomiao: "Don't worry, I will definitely pay attention."

"There is also Weiwei, who has been staying at home recently, so she is not allowed to go there, so are Erbao and Xiaobao."

"Got it, mother."

Erbao looked at Xu Miaomiao with a sweet smile.

Xu Miaomiao shifted her eyes to Song Wushao who was at the side again, only to see the man frowning and nodding stiffly.

"Tomorrow, I will go to Lan Yinxuguo in the restaurant to make it clear, and I will buy something by the way. You guys should go to bed earlier."

"Yeah." Gu Yuanniang nodded.
