Chapter 618: The Fake Tang Monk vs. the Real Xuanzang

Chapter 618: The Fake Tang Monk vs. the Real Xuanzang

"You are Lingshan, and Lingshan must also be you. Otherwise, there is no need for the monks to continue to exist. This is not a discussion, but a result. Do you understand, Xuanzang?"

Emperor Wenchang was not surprised that Xuanzang had no ambition.

To put it bluntly, Xuanzang was just a monk who had many confusions and puzzles about the existing Buddhist teachings. No matter whether he was the Xuanzang who had traveled all over the world and visited famous teachers and was full of confusion, or the Master Xuanzang who has now returned from the source of Buddhism, traveled all over the world, and killed many Buddhas, he was always the same. He only wanted to seek the true scriptures and promote truth and goodness.

Daily practice is all about explaining the truth to those evil monks who are not prepared to preach the sutras properly, not to mention ambitions, power and other such things.

Of course, the word "kill" is not appropriate to describe Master Xuanzang. To be precise, it was the monks who had learned Buddhism incorrectly who suddenly came to their senses in front of Master Xuanzang, realized their serious sins in the past, and voluntarily passed away in order to pay for their sins. It had nothing to do with Master Xuanzang!
"I obey your command!"

Listening to Emperor Wenchang's direct choice of right or wrong, even though Master Xuanzang did not have such thoughts, he loved what he did. Since he chose to become a monk, he had to take on this important task for the sake of the Lingshan inheritance and the succession of Buddhism.

Just as the Tang Dynasty ascended to the mainland of Kyushu, Master Xuanzang, who was supposed to translate Buddhist scriptures in the Big Wild Goose Pagoda until his death, came out again to distinguish the four directions, but his original destiny had already changed.

The world is unpredictable but has a final destination, life is final but unpredictable, and the ever-changing situation will eventually push someone to a certain position.

"Xuanzang is truly kindhearted. Well, there is nothing to worry about here. I have something important to do. Please do as you please!"

Looking at Master Xuanzang who was so aware of the current situation, Emperor Wenchang couldn't help but sigh in his heart. If only his own bear could be so worry-free, there would be no need for these old guys to follow PG around and work hard all the time.

But if you are well behaved, you will never see the unrestrained Emperor You.
As Emperor Wenchang turned into a piece of light and disappeared to follow the other emperors to monitor the four directions, Master Xuanzang, who had come to his senses, also started the difficult climb with several of his disciples at the foot of the devastated Lingshan Mountain.

After an unknown amount of time, the group of four finally climbed up the road that was built with the remains of the Buddha and led directly to the top of the mountain.

The whole journey went surprisingly smoothly. When Xuanzang and his party climbed to the top of the mountain, there was not a single Lingshan Buddhist disciple or venerable to guide them or even to obstruct them. This was not in line with common sense!
After all, even Xuanzang himself, who was in the situation, knew that his personality was not well-liked in the Lingshan sect.

Even from the fact that the Buddhas had descended to the mortal world in Tubo and intervened to debate with him, it could be seen that the Buddhas of Lingshan truly wanted Xuanzang dead and would not tolerate any falsehood. But Xuanzang was too eloquent and, as the original True Man in Journey to the West, he was one of the turning points for Lingshan to flourish completely in Kyushu. The destiny that Xuanzang shouldered would not allow him to die at the hands of his own people.

Its weight is equivalent to a human arm.

You can definitely survive if you lose an arm, but the inconvenience it brings to your daily life is also visible to the naked eye.

In this way, when the Buddhas could not kill Xuanzang and could only use the Dharma to break his Buddhist heart, while Xuanzang could do it without any scruples, the balance of victory and loss had already shifted. Moreover, Xuanzang had encountered all kinds of difficulties and obstacles on his journey from the Tang Dynasty in the East to the West to seek Buddhist scriptures.

He is not the weak and tender Tang Monk described in Journey to the West. It is not much easier for a mortal to break Xuanzang's Buddhist heart by verbal attacks than to ascend to heaven.

Of course, there were also cases where he became so angry and overwhelmed that he lost his mind, but facts have long proved that when you meet Xuanzang, you'd better reason with him. After all, when a fight really breaks out, he will tell you clearly how terrifying it is to have a monk with a mortal body carrying the status of a Mahayana monk!
Standing at the highest point of Lingshan Mountain, where the main hall used to be, Xuanzang looked around.

The various bizarre and beautiful scenes recorded in the scriptures, such as the towering mountains soaring into the sky, looking down at the setting sun, and reaching out to pick flying stars, have disappeared, replaced by scorched earth all over the ground and solidified magma everywhere.

The grayish-white ashes that could be seen everywhere formed a thick layer on the cooled lava rocks. Some broken bones that had not yet been completely burned were randomly stuck on the ground. The ruins and the desolate ground told of the various disasters that Lingshan had suffered.

The Buddhist disciples and Bodhisattvas gathered in the Great Hall, who had not yet been directly affected by the fiery purgatory, were all covered in dust and tattered clothes, with fear and panic on their faces after surviving a calamity.

He understood that at this moment, this experience was the result of Emperor You's anger, but Lingshan's previous actions were purely blessing or curse. It was all self-inflicted and no one else could be blamed.

But some regrets are inevitable.
"Xuanzang, come to Lingshan and sit. I understand!"

Guanyin Bodhisattva, who had been protecting the Buddhas and the Mahavira Hall from the flames of war, looked depressed as he spoke: "Lingshan is a thing of the past. If you want to argue, you probably don't have the chance anymore!"

"Yes, when I saw all this, I knew that I won in the end!"

When Mount Lingshan still maintained various corrupt practices brought from the source of Buddhism, and when secular temples made huge donations, enclosed land, lent money, and even kept private soldiers and other unkind acts without any Buddha or Bodhisattva coming out to distinguish right from wrong and clean up the house, everything was already doomed.

Xuanzang looked past the leader of the group, Guanyin Bodhisattva, and looked at the Buddha in the back, who had a handsome face and a spotless cassock. He looked at the Buddha, who looked like he was 80% similar to himself, but more gentle and innocent, and asked:
"You are Jin Chanzi, that Tang Monk, what is the Meritorious Buddha?"

Hearing this, the disciples who were originally standing behind Xuanzang and whispering to each other suddenly became serious, and looked with undisguised murderous intent in their eyes at Tang Seng, who was standing behind the Buddhas and under heavy protection.

"You're the only one imitating my master? That doesn't look that good. Where are your disciples who are capable of doing anything? Pull them out and let us see. Let's have a competition to see who is better, the real one or you fake ones!"

"Hey, look at this delicate girl, no wonder every demon on the journey to the west couldn't resist the temptation of Tang Monk's flesh. Her pretty face makes even a rough man like me unable to resist falling in love with her, not to mention a female demon!"

"What do you know, you fool? How can those stupid male demons understand the benefits of Tang Seng? When it comes to eating one meal and eating every meal, the female demons are more clear. They not only make themselves happy, but also improve their cultivation. They are simply the winners!"

"Brother, we monks should not talk about evil things!"

"That's nothing. Compared to this Buddha who was able to attain Buddhahood despite his lingering love for the Queen of the Kingdom of Women, our little bad words won't prevent us from becoming Buddhas, right?"

"."

Compared to Master Xuanzang who didn't care much about this, the disciples he recruited one after another on the path to Buddhism could not tolerate this kind of misattribution.

In particular, apart from the horse, the so-called Journey to the West almost forcibly used their master-disciple team. That would have been fine, but the key point was that his master was portrayed as a foolish monk who was ignorant of the world and did not know right from wrong. This was unbearable!
The fake Master Xuanzang: Wukong save me, Wuneng save me, Wujing save me, you naughty monkey, Amitabha!
The real Master Xuanzang: Are there any monks who are not convinced? If you do not understand Buddhist principles, I also know a little about martial arts. Genius is just the threshold to see me; this donor, please pick up the scriptures on the ground, I will teach you to pick them up! Mahayana, liberation, and the spokesperson of the image of great enlightenment!
What is Tang Monk?

With his own strength, he went from the Tang Dynasty to the source of Buddhism, and then back to the Tang Dynasty, Tubo, the barbarians in all directions, and even the deep mountains and old forests, wherever there was Buddhism, all those who were not in line with the Buddhist principles were slaughtered. His few disciples were only useful when eating, drinking water, and attending classes, and they were no different from pendants at other times. This is called Tang Monk!

The one who is either thirsty or hungry all day long, is often bewitched by demons, or is captured and forced to marry someone in a cave is called Tang Monk.

Exaggeration and verbal attacks are the result of their endurance many times.

That is to say, my master did not make it clear. Otherwise, who would still be here making trouble? I would have rushed up and caught that guy and brought him to the master to apologize!
"Why, can you kill me just by widening your eyes?"

"You relied on your three disciples to bully people on the journey to the west, why are you so listless now? Where are your disciples? Come out and take a look!"

"apprentice."

Tang Seng, who was standing among the Buddhas, looked up at his eldest disciple who was squatting on the glazed tiles of the main hall, looking up at the sky, wondering what he was thinking; then he looked at his second disciple who was smiling but retreated after noticing his gaze; the third disciple was loyal to his master, but just as he stepped forward and had no time to say a word, he was kicked off the top of the mountain by the opponent, and turned into a rolling gourd that tumbled down the mountain, and the unbridled laughter was particularly harsh and unpleasant. "This..."

Noticing the eight celestial dragons lying on the pillars of the Great Hall, He couldn't help but sighed helplessly: "I lost!"

When it comes to martial arts, Jin Chanzi may not be good. Even after becoming a Buddha, he is not good at fighting.

But when it comes to Buddhism, there are only a few Buddhas who can surpass Him. However, this only advantage is of no use when He encounters a person who is famous for debating scriptures and can even single-handedly overthrow Tubo, which has the support of the Buddhas in the lower world.

Just like the armchair strategist and the general who has fought in many battles, the one who plays with theory will never be able to beat the big guys who are adept at combining theory with practice.

Especially the desertion of several of his disciples was the last straw that broke the camel's back. He used to think that he was doing a good job as a master and his disciples were filial to him. But now that disaster was imminent, the sudden outburst of indifference and ridicule directly crushed his little confidence.

But when his self-esteem was scattered all over the ground, he became the foolish monk who was "ignorant of the world" on the journey to the West, and his eyes looking for help almost instantly moved to the back of Guanyin Bodhisattva.

Feeling the dense gazes of the Buddha of Merit staring at him from behind, even the Bodhisattva, who was used to big scenes, couldn't help but break into a cold sweat for himself.

Hey, please speak some sense!
He is just a Bodhisattva. Even if someone drags the Buddha's head away, there are still so many Buddhas above his head, the Buddha of the Three Lives, the Buddha of the Three Ages, and the Five Directions Buddhas. When will it be his turn to speak when he is in charge of Lingshan!

In a flash, the Bodhisattva took a few steps back calmly, revealing Amitabha Buddha.

Seeing this, Master Xuanzang, who had just turned a deaf ear to his disciple's reckless and evil behavior, sighed lightly, waved his hand, and the fat disciple behind him obediently brought two slightly old cushions with a black and red color.

One of them threw it on the ground, and the other carefully patted his hands to wipe the dust. He smiled and helped his master to sit down slowly: "Master, do you want me to prepare some dry food and clean water for you? I see that there are many Buddhas in Lingshan, and I am afraid that you will be thirsty and affect your condition later!"

Upon hearing this, Master Xuanzang shook his head and said, "Don't be so rash in front of the True Buddha. The Emperor has a heavy life on his shoulders. I will try my best to save time!"

"Yes, then the disciples will go find some Arhats to warm up first, and you can take care of them if there is anything!"

The eldest disciple leisurely helped his master to tidy up his robes and set the scene, then led his two younger brothers behind him to turn around and look for trouble with the Arhats, completely ignoring the many Buddhas with gloomy faces opposite him, and not thinking about whether his master would encounter any unexpected accidents in front of these thousands of Buddha enemies.

Well, there is really no need to watch Master Xuanzang debating with others on scriptures.

As the saying goes: Waking up is another victory!
When the ruined Lingshan entered the queuing wall, oh no, it was the rhythm of queuing to identify the law, Kyushu was now caught in the panic of disaster warnings from all directions.

Just as he saw the angry Emperor You rushing up to Lingshan, he kicked the gate of Lingshan down.

Before anyone could speculate or peek, he had already escaped safely. Not only that, someone with sharp eyes saw the bald-headed man with the immortal rope hanging around Emperor You's waist, running at a rapid speed.

Having traveled all over the nine provinces, there may be people who are not familiar with the appearance of the Lord of Heaven, but there is definitely no one who does not know the Buddha.

After all, compared to the immortals in heaven who can handle the matter with just a tablet, Lingshan’s publicity work is absolutely intense.

As one of the thirty-two typical characteristics of the Buddha, the fleshy bun symbolizes profound magical powers and wisdom. It is so densely packed all over the head. Who else but the Lord of Lingshan can have this honor?

But it is precisely knowing that causes fear.

Even the sacred mountain was razed to the ground and the Buddha was captured, but the rage in Emperor You did not diminish at all. The violent flames turned into red dragons that circled around Emperor You's legs, baring their fangs and claws. Their golden eyes greedily looked down at all directions, and anyone who dared to look into their eyes could feel the deep despair and destruction.

No one knew why the previous battle failed to quell Emperor You's rage and make him calm down for a few days, but everyone understood that anyone targeted by Emperor You in this state would basically be doomed to death!

No accidents, no luck!
The only human race that was not so frightened in this regard also had a complicated expression.

As the news spread, various sects promoted the new emperor. Even the old farmers who worked in the fields all day learned that there was now an emperor in Jiuzhou who hated evil and hated evil - he had the surname You!

He slays the evil gods above and eliminates the demons below, and no wicked person or evildoer can escape from His palm.

When facing a dilemma, chanting the names of gods and Buddhas may not necessarily save your life, but if you chant the name of Emperor You, someone will definitely send the other party to the underworld for public trial afterwards. There will be no mercy, no favoritism, and the rewards and punishments will be clear, even illiterate people can be satisfied.

The reason why he was still so speechless when he knew that there was another ruthless character among his ancestors who would grant any request was entirely because this person's style of doing things was too eccentric.

It is true that the Emperor hates evil, but wherever He appears, it is common to see mountains collapse, earth dragons turn over, rivers dry up, and prairie fires. These disasters, which are rarely seen in a thousand years, are common. The destruction of all things and the death of all living beings are not uncommon.

Even if the Emperor's own means are enough to avoid the impact on mortals, the changes in the local environment and the damage on the material level are enough to harm countless people. This cannot be concealed. There are more than tens of millions of people who have been affected by this disaster and reported to the underworld in advance.

Although afterwards, whether it is the imperial court, the gods, or even the underworld, many parties will be busy cleaning the floor.

Redraw the mountains and rivers, ensure a good harvest, resettle refugees, and even the dead will have a record of merit in the Book of Life and Death to offset past sins, or slightly improve their treatment in the next life when they are reincarnated.

All arrangements are satisfactory and there are no complaints.

But the fear and worry during the period are always inevitable, not to mention that no matter how big the compensation is, for ordinary people who like stability, stick to the present and do not encounter any disturbances or injustices, such unnecessary actions are somewhat annoying.

But just as the world will not stop because of one person, when the concept of human race is divided, these people who were born and raised in peace are also not within the scope of Zhang Ke's attention.

At this time, Zhang Ke, who was flying in the sky, was holding the Buddha head on his waist, which felt bad. He asked calmly, "Since you know my purpose, the Buddha is knowledgeable and should be able to give me some advice, right?"

"Even if the Buddha puts life and death aside, he still has to think about the many Buddhist disciples and grandchildren in Lingshan. Even if I make a surprise attack now, the emperors will not say much, not to mention."

"Lingshan has suffered such a great crime, can the Buddha just sit back and watch other beings stay out of it?"

"."

Originally, Zhang Ke was worried that the Buddha would be stubborn and simply give up and refuse to cooperate after his mentality collapsed. In that case, it would not be so easy for Zhang Ke to find a know-it-all guide. But who would have thought that this thing would be surprisingly cooperative.

Before Zhang Ke finished speaking, He had already listed hundreds of targets like pouring beans.
