The gate of Chongsheng Temple is grand, which is different from those famous ancient temples in the Central Plains. It looks very gorgeous and luxurious, with gold and colorful paintings, luxury and splendor, showing the style of a royal temple.

There is a Bodhi tree not far from the mountain gate. It has a huge canopy, blocking out the sun. Its green leaves are like stars, its twigs are like clusters, its flower buds are beginning to take shape, swaying in the wind, and its trunk is big enough for several people to hug it.

"What a tree!" Zhao Tong put his hands on the arbor and looked at it. This bodhi tree does not exist in the north. Since it came from Tianzhu during the Southern and Northern Dynasties, it can only be seen in Guangdong, Guangxi and Dali.

"Your Majesty, this tree is famous in Dali. It is hundreds of years old and is known as a Buddhist tree." Duan Yi said beside him.

"Go over and take a look." Zhao Tong said.

When we came under the tree, it was indeed shaded. It was even more majestic than it looked from a distance, which was surprising.

"After my grandfather became a monk, my grandmother came to visit. The two of them met under this tree. The Buddha tree is the proof. There was no personal relationship and they only discussed state affairs."

"The two of them met under this tree at that time?" Zhao Tong wondered: "How do you know?"

Duan Yichang said: "This matter is written in my Duan family's lamp biography."

"The Record of the Lamp Transmission." Zhao Tong nodded, knowing this book. He looked at the bodhi tree: "Your grandparents..."

Duan Yichang's grandfather was Duan Zhengchun, Emperor Wen'an, and his grandmother was the most talented woman in Dali at that time. Gao Shengjie was known as the White Phoenix of Cangshan. Because she liked white clothes and was good at both civil and military affairs, she was called White Phoenix.

"This tree has seen too many joys and sorrows in the world, and has experienced many changes in wind and rain." Zhao Tong said with emotion.

"Yes, Your Majesty, this tree is older than the history of our country, Dali." Duan Yichang looked at the big tree with a look of awe.

"The body is like a Bodhi tree, and the mind is like a bright mirror. I must brush it diligently at all times to prevent any dust." Zhao Tong said slowly.

"Your Majesty, this...shouldn't it be that the bodhi tree is not a tree, and the mirror is not a stand. There is nothing in the first place, so how can it cause dust?" Duan Yichang wondered. He knew that these were six groups of Huineng's verses, but he didn't know This is what Zhao Tong said.

Zhao Tong smiled slightly. In the two gathas Shenxiu and Huineng, Shenxiu was in front and Huineng was in the back. In fact, Shenxiu was also proficient in Buddhism. However, Hongren, the fifth patriarch, felt that this gatha was not advanced outside the door, but Hui Neng felt that it was not unadvanced when he composed it. , but it was not finished, so I wrote the second verse, which is the one about Bodhi not being a tree.

In fact, the two poems can be read together, that is, from the realm of seeing mountains as mountains and water as water to a higher realm of seeing mountains as not mountains and water as not water.

Looking at it this way, it's actually just the length of a road, the distance a pair of eyes can see, and the shallowness of a heart's understanding.

Buddhism emphasizes putting down the butcher's knife and becoming a Buddha immediately. From this, it can be seen that the so-called distance is actually the distance of understanding, rather than the distance of observation, distance and distance visible to the naked eye.

Then the gradual enlightenment that Shenxiu has always advocated is the primary stage. It doesn't matter if you haven't started, or you have just started, or you have just learned to walk.

The sudden enlightenment advocated by Huineng is in line with the true meaning of Buddhism. One thought is a Buddha, another thought is a devil. Put down the butcher knife and become a Buddha on the spot. Pick up a flower and smile, and then turn around and become a Buddha.

Therefore, the sudden enlightenment advocated by Huineng is actually an extremely profound state. If this state can be achieved, it will already be a quasi-Buddha.

If you can do this, you will become a Buddha.

Putting down the butcher's knife and becoming a Buddha suddenly, whether it's an ordinary person or a demon, it's just a thought.

Everyone has Buddha-nature, and demons sit in the Buddha. They only realize that the world is vast, and humans and Buddhas can only think about it.

Enlightenment, enlightenment...?
It was like a big thunder exploded in Zhao Tong's mind. What exactly was epiphany?
Is it just enlightenment and Buddhahood?
So why do heavenly beings in the realm of martial arts also need to have enlightenment?

Could it be that... the great road leads to simplicity, different paths lead to the same destination?
No matter what kind of study and practice, the final achievement must be a direct hit, a "sudden enlightenment", or enlightenment all at once? Is this an epiphany?
Regardless of Buddhism, Taoism, or Confucianism, do they all emphasize "sudden enlightenment"? Are the goals different but different paths leading to the same goal?

All the sages, all the classics, all the brilliant methods, the truth in them all talks about reaching the highest goal?

The so-called journey to the highest goal is actually enlightenment? Rather than the gradual enlightenment mentioned by Shenxiu?
Yes, yes, how can the word "enlightenment" be achieved gradually? The gradual process mentioned is just to complete the final flash of inspiration, and the final successful epiphany. Gradually is just to pave the way for the epiphany!

This supreme, this supreme, is "there is no best, only better"!
Confucianism says, "The way of a university lies in Ming Ming De", which means standing directly on the pinnacle of "uprightness and righteousness", and cultivating Qi Zhiping directly communicates personal self-cultivation and family governance with the lofty goal of governing the country and bringing peace to the world. That is In one sentence, "Everyone can be a saint"!
Buddhism says, "Everyone has Buddha nature." Is this "nature" the Confucian "nature is inherently good"? Is it the "nature" of "knowing one's heart and one's nature"? The "This is what I heard" at the beginning of various classics is a direct "This is what it is", which directly corresponds to "Everyone can become a Buddha"!
The Taoists say, "The Tao can be Tao, but it is not Tao." This means that you should not stand on the ordinary Tao, but should stand directly on the extraordinary Tao, directly occupy the Supreme Way, and stand on the Supreme Way!
From this point of view, enlightenment is the highest form of wisdom, that is, reaching the highest position and reaching the supreme!

Sudden enlightenment is "taking the Dharma from the top", it is "upright and bright", it is "the best is as good as water", it is "seeing the wise and thinking about them"!
Enlightenment is an instantaneous change, a direct change. It is not a quantitative change that leads to a qualitative change, but a qualitative change that leads to a quantitative change. It is straightforward, "a tiger changes into a leopard," an adult changes into a tiger, and a gentleman changes into a leopard!
I understand!

Zhao Tong remained motionless under the bodhi tree. His whole body seemed to have melted into the air, into the heaven and earth, into the bodhi tree, into the grass, every tree, and all things.

His figure was silent and silent, as if he existed and yet he seemed not to be there. He was clearly there, but the people around him seemed to be in a daze, and they seemed unable to notice him.

There is a smile on the corner of his mouth, just like the wind is full of emotion, and the trees and grass are also fighting for spring.

His gaze was profound, as if the sky was far away and the earth was endless.

If he didn't speak, no one around him would dare to say anything, no one would dare to move, and even the breathing would be kept to a minimum.

Yuan Ying kept looking around. She had seen Master Dog like this, which seemed to be called enlightenment. Once he was like this, no one was allowed to disturb him, and no noise or noise was allowed.

I don’t know how long passed, it might have been a quarter of an hour, it might have been half an hour, it might have been an hour, but Zhao Tong finally moved.

He raised one arm and pointed upward, and the other arm pointed downward, and softly uttered two words: "Heavenly Man."

At this moment, this moment, this scene, he was finally promoted to...the realm of heaven and man where heaven and man are one!

Looking at the vastness of the world, today I am not myself.

There is no limit to the world, and everything is renewed.

Everything seems to be different from the previous world. That side is false and this side is true.

"Enter the temple!" Zhao Tong opened his mouth and spat out two more words.

Originally having a secret conversation with Wang Ruochu, he learned that Duan Heyu was infinitely close to heaven and man, so he wanted to discuss with him to see if he could understand some realm principles from it and achieve the realm of unity between man and nature. But at this moment, there is no need for anything. He has become a heaven and man. There is no opponent in the world. Even Duan Heyu is not his opponent. Even if Duan Heyu has...

There are the steps to reach the sky, the whale to swallow the sea, and the yin and yang latitude and longitude sword fingers.

These three martial arts are Duan Heyu's unique skills and were told to him by Wang Ruochu.

These three are martial arts, not just internal skills, but martial arts that can be used internally and externally!
Like his life-threatening sword, it can actually be used both internally and externally. Zhao Tong had previously wondered why the life-threatening fourteenth sword could be used directly with the power of blood. It turned out that the life-threatening fourteenth sword had evolved into Internal and external martial arts with higher internal strength.

This is several times more powerful than a single internal and external power, because it is faster to use, more handy, and more suitable.

The martial arts of Huang Shang, Mi Zhenting, and Huo Siju are all single internal skills. When practiced to the extreme, they can truly reach the state of harmony between man and nature. Although they can force their energy and blood to injure the enemy, they are not universal for both internal and external use. Because there are no moves, they cannot To respond flexibly, we can only use our internal strength to unleash brutal attacks.

Even the Everlasting Eternal Spring Kung Fu is also a single internal skill, but this skill is powerful and is the best among internal skills. Although this skill has no ability to release qi and blood outside the realm of heaven and man, it has various other wonderful uses.

As for Duan Heyu's three special skills, apart from the Yin Yang Jingwei Sword Finger, which is a family tradition, the other two, Jiuxiao Lingtianbu and Whale Swallowing Sea Kung Fu, all come from the Zi Zi Sect.

He inherited the lineage of Zi Zi Men Tian Lu Zi.

Tian Luzi and Li Shuangmei eloped, each carrying the secret code of the sect. It can be said that what he took away was the most powerful part.

Later, the two fell out. Li Shuangmei returned to Western Xia, while Tian Luzi lived in seclusion in the mountains where Dali and Chengdu meet.

Tianluzi took in several disciples and failed to live up to expectations, so he kicked them all out in a fit of anger. Some went to Xixia Zizimen to recognize their ancestors and return to the sect, and became one of the several disciples in the post-Zizaimen era. Xiao Min's mother was born in Tianluzi and returned to Zizimen. Some of the disciples are living in the world.

After Tianluzi was enthroned, Duan Heyu ran away from home and happened to enter the place where Tianluzi was enthroned. On the stone wall, he learned the Lingxiao Step and Whale Sucking Kung Fu.

The secret scriptures in Tian Luzi's hands were destroyed in front of his disciples, but no one expected that he would write another one on the wall after he passed away.

However, what he writes about is martial arts, not martial arts. There are actually two versions of these secrets, just like Li Xian's Sun-Transfer Needle. Sun-Transfer Needle is a martial art, but it also has martial arts, called the Sun-Transfer Book.

Tianluzi only writes about martial arts, and not writing about martial arts is also a consideration for future disciples who have never been masked.

If the disciple is extremely talented in martial arts and can reach the peak of Grand Master, he will develop these martial arts to the extreme through careful consideration, which is the level of martial arts.

Therefore, it can be deduced from the Lingxiao Step that the martial arts is the Jiuxiao Lingtian Step, and the Whale Sucking Kung Fu is the Whale Sucking Sea Kung Fu.

As for the yin and yang latitude and longitude sword fingers passed down from the Duan family, the martial arts version is called yin and yang fingers, and the martial arts is called this yin and yang latitude and longitude sword fingers. It can send out the power of qi and blood, as sharp as holding a sword in the hand, and it is also like the legendary sword qi released outward, causing rapid As fast as electricity, it is indestructible and has no opponent.

These three unique skills are among the best in the world, and Duan Heyu is infinitely close to the unity of heaven and man. When he comes out, he really doesn’t dare to say who will win. Although Zhao Tong will not give up, he can’t just say it. Definitely winnable.

But Zhao Tong no longer cares, he has reached the Great Perfection of Heaven and Human Realm, and Heaven and Man are one.

Even the fifteenth fatal sword has been completed. One sword can break through all kinds of magic. The master of the fatal sword kills without any other martial arts. As long as this sword is in hand, even if the opponent has all kinds of skills and infinite means, just ask him. In one sentence, can the enemy hold the sword in my hand?
Zhao Tong smiled faintly and headed towards the gate of Chongsheng Temple. At this time, Chang Yi had already opened the door, and the two young monks inside looked around in panic.

Duan Yichang scolded: "You should have known when the army came. How could you not notice when the army and horses were galloping outside? Now that His Majesty is here in person, why don't the abbot and abbot come out to welcome him?"

He was angry. This was a royal temple, but the last time he came to see Duan Heyu, he couldn't even get in. There were many monks inside, including some members of the clan, but he, the prince of Dali, couldn't even get in. , how could you not be angry?
The young novice said hurriedly: "Please be patient for a moment. Senior brother has already gone to call the abbot and abbot."

Duan Yichang sneered, and was about to report to Zhao Tao, and led the people to rush in, when there were rapid footsteps from the other side, and he saw a haggard old monk coming with many monks in the distance.

After a while, when they came closer, they all put their palms together and chanted the name of the Buddha.

Zhao Tong ignored him, closed his eyes slightly, and asked Duan Yichang to negotiate.

After a while, Duan Yichang came back, with a look of relief on his face, and said politely: "Your Majesty, I have inquired about the whereabouts of my father. There is a dangerous building hidden deep in the temple. Please move away."

Zhao Tong had already heard the conversation and nodded: "Dangerous building?"

Duan Yichang said hurriedly: "It is the dangerous building where the scriptures of Chongsheng Temple are stored. The monks said that my father has been living there since he entered the temple, studying Buddhism and practicing martial arts in seclusion."

"The dangerous building is a hundred feet high. You can pick the stars with your hands. You dare not speak loudly for fear of frightening the people in the sky." Zhao Tao touched his chin: "King Duan chose a good place. The name of this building is also good, for storing scriptures. It takes a well-educated scholar to give you such a name."

Duan Yichang learned about the Gao family's usurpation of the country and came to seek help from Duan Heyu. He was a little angry at his father and said at this moment: "Your Majesty, my father has taken the name of Wangchen. Even the monks in the temple are rarely seen. This dangerous building is designated as It is a forbidden place, and monks who want to consult the scriptures have no choice but to approach it. "

Zhao Tong smiled and said: "This is indeed a bit too much. If you can't read scriptures in the Buddhist Scripture Pavilion, what kind of Buddhist Scripture Pavilion is it? If the place of Buddhism is not empty, what kind of Buddhism is it?"

The monks in front suddenly chanted in a low voice, and the leading abbot took a step forward: "Your Majesty, Emperor Qin, these words are clever and have a connection with my Buddha."

Zhao Tie glanced at the abbot: "What do you call the master? How long have you been in the temple?"

The abbot said: "Lao Na Jueyin has been taking refuge in my Buddha for a period of time."

Zhao Tong said: "One Jiazi is a lot...Master, would you like to go to the Daxiangguo Temple in Tokyo to communicate and discuss the Dharma with eminent monks from all over the world?"

When the abbot heard this, his body suddenly trembled and he hesitated: "Your Majesty, is this possible? The eminent monks in the world are scattered in all directions, how can they be seen?"

Zhao Tong smiled and said: "It can be done, it can be done. When I go back, I plan to hold a lotus altar purification meeting. The ashram will be placed in the Daxiangguo Temple, so that eminent monks from all over the world can gather together and debate the Dharma together."

The abbot said happily: "In this case, it is better to obey orders than to be respectful. I just obey orders."

Zhao Tong nodded and moved his eyes to the distance: "Lead the way to the dangerous building."

The abbot led the monks to turn around and said in unison: "Your Majesty, please come..."
