Chapter 33 King's Game
Joffrey's king game begins.

Robb Stark and Theon Greyjoy play two opposing "lords";
Seven people, including Bran Stark, Jon Snow, and Roderick Cassel, act as "knights" and serve the two "lords" respectively;
Another 77 spectators were recruited as "soldiers" to serve under seven "knights" respectively;
All at the same time allegiance to the "King".

The "king" spoke.

"What is the reason for the petition?"

All players got serious.After hearing the rules of the game described by His Royal Highness, no one thought it was just a simple entertainment game.

Robb spoke first.

"Your Majesty, your vassal Stark is requesting a ruling from the territory."

He has four knights loyal to him, and this is the Winterfell of the Stark family, which undoubtedly has a greater advantage than Theon.

"Greyjoy has usurped one of Stark's knightly lands. Stark demands that Greyjoy return it."

Each "lord" has the right to take the initiative to challenge 3 times, and the challenged party can counterattack once without consuming the number of challenges.

Robb challenges Theon for the first round.

Victory, one of Theon's knights and eleven of his soldiers;

If it fails, there is no reward, and the king will randomly give punishment.

Theon, of course, would not give in directly.

He also petitioned, "Your Majesty, this is a Stark insult! Greyjoy demands a trial by combat."

Joffrey nodded.

"Trials by combat are permitted. Starks and Greyjoy nominate knights."

Robb appointed Ser Rodrik as coach.

Theon looked at Jon, who was the most difficult to deal with on weekdays, "Jon, you didn't deliberately lose the battle, did you?"

Jon snorted uncomfortably.

"I still have the honor, 'respected' Lord Lord."

Jon didn't break his word.

He tried his best, and his swordsmanship and body, which he had trained hard since he was a child, were his greatest reliance these years. He defeated the experienced Sir Rodrik.

Robb's challenge fails.Joffrey did not punish him.

Theon decided to fight back, "Your Majesty, Stark has usurped Greyjoy's two knight territories, and Greyjoy demands that Stark return them."

Theon upped the ante.

Most of the people present were from Winterfell, and some of Theon's subordinates were already a little unhappy.

Robb didn't ask for a trial by combat. He knew Jon's martial arts skills. If this went on, there was no chance of winning, so he had to vote.

"Your Majesty, Stark is innocent, please convene a great council!"

Joffrey agreed.

The "Grand Council", another form of ruling in the game of kings, voted on issues by the presence of 77 soldiers.

Each knight now has 11 soldiers, and the decision of 7 or more soldiers must be adopted by the knight, otherwise the knight can choose to agree, disagree, or abstain.

The final seven votes will determine the final result.

Before the voting begins, the two lords can speak to win the support of the soldiers.

"The lord began to speak."

Robb is very confident, he just said, "Please support me."

Yes, this is Winterfell.

Theon understood even more clearly that he seemed to be tasting failure and ridicule again.

This game is not fair!

But, how can there be fairness in the world? !Isn't Winterfell just like this game!
He was in pain.

I am the heir of the Iron Islands, the son of the sea monster, I am the tenacious ironborn...

am I?
My father was Lord Balon of the Iron Islands, and now I have blurred his face, and Lord Eddard's face and words have replaced him;

My motto is "strength is better than hard work", and now I am in the north where "winter is coming";

My god is the cruel Drowned God, "What dies never dies shall rise again, stronger." Now I pray to the gods of the Green Land;

My belonging is the sea, the longship, and now I have forgotten the saltiness of the sea.

Who am I?
Will Stark accept me?
Theon tasted iron and bitterness in his mouth.

He only felt that his soul kept falling until he reached the dark and crazy abyss. That was not Winterfell, nor Pike City in the Iron Islands, but a place of ignorance and non-existence...

Joffrey put his vast spirit into his eyes, and there was magic in his words.

All he said was, "Greyjoy speaks."

Theon couldn't help raising his head, and the crown prince's eyes hooked him to look over.

Gods, what monsters dwell there?

There is a storm sweeping the world hidden in the calmness and warmth. It is unpredictable and unwavering.

Like a supreme king.

King.

Yes, king! !

Theon's face was overwhelmed by fanatical emotions, and his eyes were filled with hope mixed with despair.

Theon prostrated himself on the ground as if on a pilgrimage.

"Your Majesty the King, Theon Greyjoy offers unfading loyalty to you! My sword, my body, my soul, and everything I have is yours!!"

Everyone was stunned!

The corners of Joffrey's mouth curled up in a presumptuous arc.

He drew out Longyan and pressed the tip of the sword heavily on Theon's shoulder.

"I accept your allegiance."

"In the name of the Seven, Theon of House Greyjoy, I Joffrey Baratheon has made you a knight of the king's seat. Remember, you do not flinch in battle."

"Arise, Ser Theon Greyjoy."

The knight ceremony, which was so simple that it couldn't be simpler, was even somewhat unruly, but no one dared to take it as a joke.

People can only watch blankly.

Joffrey withdrew Long Yan, put one hand on his hips, and held on to the hilt of the sword with the other.

"Let's start voting."

Robb lost most of his confidence.

The 77 soldiers gradually began to move. They looked at each other and tacitly chose to obey the biggest lord whom everyone was loyal to.

Robb closed his eyes.

The seven knights lost the right to choose.Their soldiers were overwhelmingly on the same side.

The Great Council, Greyjoy has won!

Robb lost two of his knights, half his strength, and the balance of victory was in Theon's favor.

Theon attacks.

"Your Majesty! Stark has forcibly occupied Greyjoy's two knight territories, and Greyjoy demands that Stark return them!"

One more win, and Robb was a complete failure.

At this point Robb had to face a difficult choice.Trial by combat, with Jon on the opposite side, the Great Council doesn't seem to have much hope now.

Do I have to pledge allegiance to win?
Robb was in a complicated mood, and he seemed to understand the crown prince's intentions.The king's game, it really is the king's game.

Jon was also struggling inside.

Keen, he has long seen that this game is not easy.At least, the crown prince meant to let him make a decision at this time.

King's Landing?Night watchman?

Now it seems a choice must be made.

Jon looked at the crown prince, just in time to meet the crown prince's eyes, as if there was an inexplicable force.

Jon only felt a heat in his head, and immediately knelt down on one knee.

"Your Majesty, Jon Snow is willing to offer his eternal loyalty and ask for the canonization of the lord."

People were surprised again.

There is another rule of this game: a knight can make a request for the canonization of the lord, as long as another knight and seven soldiers renew their oath of allegiance.

Joffrey was pleased with the outcome of the game.
