Chapter 1218 We Will Meet Victor

A middle-aged man traveling with a little girl would always attract some strange looks, especially Victor's harsh and cold eyes, which made the Wissen soldiers who were checking passers-by more vigilant.

Daphne wanted to ask for help from the real good people when she saw the soldiers with the flag of Leader Wishen, but when Victor said calmly that he was going to take a wild wizard to Altdorf to stand Sigmar's trial, the soldier who symbolized hope looked at Daphne with indescribable disgust.

A reality that terrifies her is that the witch hunter who has the power of life and death over witches has now become her protector.

Fortunately, Victor was not a psychopathic witch hunter. He treated Daphne impartially. Apart from saving a life in Barton Village, he only gave the wild mage some instructions on what to pay attention to in the empire...

The girl tried her best to do her bit by washing some clothes for Victor in the wild or cooking for him, but the witch hunter refused the help offered by the wild wizard even when fleas appeared on his black coat.

Just keep things business-like and don't get too involved with her...it's good for everyone.

Victor thought to himself that the School of Magic hated witch hunters. Both sides were organizations founded by His Majesty Magnus. They were originally united under the banner of the church, but with the departure of the pious...

The relationship between the two sides cannot be said to be tense, but it can only be said that they are at loggerheads. If Daphne becomes a magic apprentice and it is known that she was led by a witch hunter, it will cause a lot of trouble...

The witch hunters' indifference made Daphne have little hope for the future, and her body gradually weakened. Until she arrived in Noon, Victor hired a carriage to see that the girl could not endure the hardship of the long journey, and only then did her condition improve a little.

The road from Styria to Altdorf is long, but Victor is looking forward to it. Altdorf, the center of the empire, is where the Temple of the Twin-Tailed Comet is located...

After half a month, the carriage, which had crossed many narrow terrains, finally arrived near Altdorf.

At this moment, the carriage suddenly stopped.

"What's going on?" Victor asked the coachman in a hoarse voice. He had hung the skull mark of a witch hunter on the outside of the carriage, so ordinary thieves, robbers and gangsters did not dare to have any evil thoughts.

"My Lord, there is a spirit...standing on the road."

Elf?

Victor signaled to Daphne to stay in the carriage, saying that she might be Elvis's messenger. The elf must be sick again and wanted to listen to the witch hunter preach Sigma's wrath.

After stepping out of the carriage, he saw a handsome elf on the road. He had a faint smile on his face, was wearing a blue and white robe that could not reveal his identity, and had a sword at his waist.

"Victor Salzepyre?"

The witch hunter nodded. During the time he spent in the Lauren Lauren Forest, he had gained some knowledge of the Elvish language... With his keen observation skills, he could hear a hint of the Elvish accent in the very standard Imperial language spoken by the elves in front of him.

It should be from Caledor... The high elves in the Laurenlorn Forest all speak with this accent.

"It's me, who are you?"

"This is not an important question... It's not important right now." Imrik licked his lips, looking a little excited.

He asked Tigris to teleport himself to Aldorf first, just to meet Captain Plague Cockroach and wait for the Phoenix King to officially enter the empire. It is not possible to meet a small witch hunter whenever he wants.

The visitor is not good...

Victor's hand gradually sank towards his waist. He would not mistakenly think that he could make a troublemaker leave immediately just by relying on his slight friendship with Elvis.

"Elf, attacking witch hunters is not a wise move... I believe Ambassador Rachel should have said not to interfere in the affairs of witch hunters in the Empire."

"Really..." As soon as he finished speaking, the figure disappeared from Victor's sight. Relying on his keen intuition, the witch hunter drew out his rapier and raised it to the left.

The heavy guard of the light sword is a special feature for duels. The backward center of gravity makes this fancy aristocratic weapon very flexible. Victor blocked very quickly, so fast that he actually blocked Imrik's serious attack.

What Imrik was holding was definitely not the Sword of Creation, but just a standard long sword that could be seen everywhere in the empire, much rougher than the sophisticated light sword in the hands of the witch hunters.

But he held the sword in one hand and held Victor firmly.

The difference in strength between the two isn't that big... just a little bit at most.

Victor, who was blocking with a sword, only felt a numbness in his arm.

He stared at the blue-eyed, blonde elf in front of him and commented secretly.

Very strong, and very fast... much stronger than the elven soldiers in the Lauren Lauren Forest.

But, Sigmar's servants are by no means weak!
Victor blocked with one hand, but when the guard of his sword touched the standard long sword, he had already pulled out the pistol from his waist with his left hand and shot at the elf's chest without hesitation at a close distance.

The elf had no protective gear around his body, and the long sword in his hand was firmly stuck by the hilt... Victor did not shoot at the heart. He could feel that the elf in front of him had no intention of killing, otherwise the sword would have hit his neck instead of his shoulder.

As flames appeared at the muzzle of the gun, Victor thought he had succeeded...

The same flames emerged from around the elf in front of him. When the bullet was about to hit the clothes, a fist-sized white flame suddenly appeared and instantly burned the bullet to ashes.

"Bullets have no effect on me, Mr. Witch Hunter."

Imrick gave a warning and shifted his sword to chop at Victor's neck. This strike was more fierce than the previous one.

Although he was surprised that his reliable gunpowder weapon had failed, Victor still maintained his offensive posture, but his movements were more hesitant...

He deliberately slowed down his battle pace and found that the elf in front of him actually adjusted the intensity of his attack according to his own strength. No matter how he fought, it seemed that they were evenly matched.

Victor had only felt this feeling from two people, the first was Oliveira who was stationed in the Laurent Forest, and the second was Elvis.

But from the records the witch hunters had read, these two elves were both top-tier warriors in Ulthuan...

So any elf that randomly pops up on the side of the road has the strength to rival a monster? This is not right.

Taking advantage of an opening, Victor pulled out another spare pistol, and while shooting bullets at his opponent's chest, he stared with wide eyes at the white flames that might appear.

The flames once again devoured all the bullets, and Victor threw down his rapier, no longer having any intention of fighting.

"Your Majesty the Phoenix King... You should be meeting with the Emperor in Altdorf, not tangling with a witch hunter in the countryside."

Imrick smiled. It seemed that the witch hunter was indeed very perceptive. After doubting his strength, he used the musket to test the platinum holy fire...

The Phoenix King had a subtle look on his face. He did not directly respond to the witch hunter's words. As his figure disappeared into thin air, he left behind some meaningful words.

"We will meet again...Victor." (End of this chapter)
