Chapter 803: Doomsday Prophet

The structure of the church is not just an auditorium, but an entire complex of buildings that once housed hundreds of clergymen living and working there.

No matter how glorious it was in the past and how many people believed in it, the church is now in ruins, with large sections of collapsed buildings, missing top floors, and broken glass.

Because the front gate had fallen into disrepair and was stuck, the monks originally entered from the living quarters at the back, walked all the way up to the auditorium, and then were beaten back.

Now that he had determined the enemy's position, Lance entered directly from the front and forcefully pushed open the broken door. The wear and tear caused it to make a fierce sound, just like the powerful music for defeating a boss in a game.

After who knows how many years, the sun shines into the church from the main entrance again, and the brilliant light penetrates the huge wall made of colored glass.

Everywhere you look are benches that were originally provided for believers to pray, but now most of them have been destroyed. The scene is very chaotic, and you can feel that a fierce battle once took place here.

Because Martin and his team didn't even have time to take the bodies away. It was only because the winter temperature was low enough, otherwise they would have been filled with stench.

Just entering would give way to the maddening echo of that insane laughter—that lunatic hiding here, behind the bench, spouting his stupid nonsense!

The sound seemed to carry a strange power, echoing in the empty auditorium and making people tremble unconsciously. The team entered and quickly found the source of the sound.

He was taller than an ordinary human, with a dirty rag draped over his head that obscured his face. One could vaguely see his eyes wrapped in red cloth. His mouth was full of sparse teeth, as if his gums were withered due to old age. The dirt made the beard on his chin turn dark yellow, and with his pointed nose, he looked like an evil wizard from a horror story.

A wooden shackle bound his head and one hand. The other hand broke free from the shackle, but it was stained with blood, and contained something.

Its gray skin was covered with pus and its body was covered with marks left by various vicious torture instruments. A large number of swords were still inserted into its body. It was restrained by chains and iron blocks, but it had not died yet, as if declaring that it was no longer human.

Prophet of Doom!

The person who once peeped into the ancestor's secrets.

Like many villains, the Old Ancestor likes to write diaries. Lance obtained the memoirs left by the Old Ancestor before he performed the Cataclysm ritual from the packages he found in the dungeon.

Just by simply flipping through the text, one can feel the viciousness and cruelty of that guy from the distant text. Information about this prophet is also recorded in the memoirs.

But in the mouth of the ancestor, the prophet is an incoherent madman, a spreader of the end of the world, and a messenger of the apocalypse.

[While the excavation beneath the mansion was in full swing, a poor, ragged man came to our town. This dirty, toothless degenerate strangely knew what I was pursuing, and predicted to anyone who would listen that I would bring about the end of the world.

This nonsense man must shut up! But what annoys me is that doing so has almost proven to be impossible. How did he survive death row, deep cold water, and even when I stabbed him in the back so madly? How did he come back again and again to provoke strong reactions from the townspeople with his crazy predictions and speculations?

Finally, giving in to his unusual physical resilience, I lured him to the dig site. There, I showed him the "thing" and explained my plan in detail. Successfully, I watched him tear his eyeballs out of their sockets and run screaming into the shadows - crying madly: Doom will come to us all.

From that memoir, it is easy to see that the prophet once predicted that the old ancestor would bring the end of the world, and then he was captured and persecuted by the "evil-leading" old ancestor.

You have to know that the ancestor has killed witches, sank pirates, and killed wizards. He showed no mercy when he was ruthless, but no matter whether he chopped with a knife or an axe or sunk him into the water, the prophet could not be killed. This strange scene even gave the ancestor a headache.

The ancestor had no choice but to take him to see his own excavation site, and with the help of that indescribable power, he finally defeated the prophet's reason. The terrified prophet dug out his own eyes and fled in fear into the ruins of the church, which was the last possible safe place for Hamlet in his instincts, the refuge of holy light.

But unfortunately, the church was still destroyed in the catastrophe, leaving him alone, still babbling nonsense and telling prophecies about the end of the world.

Lance didn't have time to explain to them because the two sides started fighting as soon as they met.

The prophet of doom saw that the newcomer had made the first move, so he stretched out his blood-stained hand. When he opened it, he found two living eyeballs inside. These were the eyes that he had dug out when he spied on the indescribable thing itself.

At this moment, as he moved, a complex double-ring ritual pattern composed of dark red runes appeared.

prophecy!

The chosen Bigger became alert like a nervous beast, but as the dark red rune disappeared, no strong spells were cast.

But Lance noticed that the power of the ritual was entangling Bigby and he didn't know when it would erupt.

"It's the power of destiny! I know, he is the lost wandering prophet..."

Alhazred's reaction was even more intense. He spoke incoherently and lost his usual composure.

Lance couldn't care less about these things at this point. The best solution was to kill that thing first.

"Bigby, just go get him!"

As he spoke, he raised his hand, pulled out the hand cannon and fired. The huge bullet was shot out under the propulsion of gunpowder, and the speed was so fast that it even tore the air and made a whistling sound.

The bullet penetrated the prophet's body, but it only caused him to stagger. He did not seem to have suffered much damage. He had indeed been transformed into an inhuman being.

Lance's shout woke everyone up. Bigby didn't care about anything else and immediately took off his coat, dropped his chains and let out a roar.

The next second, the beast form appeared and rushed forward roaring.

But the prophet was surrounded by piles of shabby benches, and if he wanted to get close to them, he had to destroy them first. Bigby thought so too, and he swung his claws out, as if he was going to tear the rotten wood into pieces in the next second.

Then the claws collided with the wood and made a dull sound. It was not torn into pieces, but only left a few scratches.

But Bigby was rushing forward without time to stop, and was stopped only by crashing into those wooden chairs. Only he knew how embarrassing that was.

Anyway, Lance couldn't hold back anymore after seeing this scene.

Before, I laughed at the fact that the friars, a team of masters, champions and legends, couldn't even beat a madman. Now, after Bigby transformed, he couldn't even break a few broken chairs and was tripped.

"That bench is blessed with extraordinary power." Alhazred reminded, and he also used the [Hand of the Abyss] to try to control the prophet.

However, the tentacles passed by but were easily resisted by the prophet. His resistance to the power of the abyss was much stronger than that of the Lord of the Undead.

The prophet had no intention of sitting there and waiting to die. He opened his mouth and let out an incomprehensible roar.

Scold! The strange power covered everyone on the field, making people feel a strong discomfort. Even Lance was not immune because it was a curse acting on the flesh.

On the contrary, after Bigby's transformation, his resistance to various attacks far exceeded that of humans, so he was directly immune. However, at this moment, he was still destroying the benches like a raging beast.

Junia was not someone to be bullied. She held up the iron torch, and the flames bursting from it were just like her heart.

Trial!

The holy light, stronger than ever before, turned into a bolt of lightning and fell down, and the prophet finally showed obvious damage.

But this was not enough to kill him, his tenacious vitality left the old ancestor helpless.

Joan of Arc was hit, but then she got out of that negative state with Lance's blessing. She originally thought that her promotion to a master was amazing, but in this kind of battle she was not even qualified to intervene, and even became a burden.

But she understood that the lord had asked her to come here to train herself and would never allow her to hide behind.

Then she picked up the axe that she had taken from the skeleton shield soldier and started to chop. However, the prophet was hiding in the corner, surrounded by benches, so it was not easy to get close. She could only bite the bullet and chop wood. It was really better than Bigby using his claws. In some ways, it was a professional match.

From their two situations we can see the difficulties that the mendicant monks’ team was in at that time.

Those knights are all melee fighters. If you can't break through those benches, you can't hurt the prophet directly. The monks and bishops can't kill him in a short time even if they use their skills.

But the prophet is not a target that stands still. Just like now, several bricks and stones suddenly fell on Bigby's head.

Ruins and falling rocks!

Stones the size of a human head falling from a great height were still very dangerous. Bigby's fighting instinct of course realized it and he wanted to dodge, but he was inexplicably tripped by a piece of wood, and the next second the square stone hit him hard.

Even though he was in beast mode, his body was still injured from the confrontation with the rocks. However, having thick skin did have its advantages, and he climbed up by himself, but his eyes no longer had the madness they had just now.

Because the prophet raised the eyeball in his hand again, the dark red double ring ceremony descended again.

prophecy!

But this time it was not Bigby, but Alhazred and Junia in the back row.

The prophet predicted that Bigby would be hit by falling rocks, and he really was hit. Now there are two of them, as if those strange eyes really saw future events.

"The power of fate controlled by the prophet modifies events. No matter what is guided by fate, it will all end up happening."

Alhazred gave an explanation, which simply meant don't try to hide.

Now he no longer hopes to gain control, but directly activates the [Curse of Weakness] to severely weaken the prophet, hoping to have the power to escape fate later.

Junia transformed herself into a turret and continuously used divine magic to bombard the prophet, which attracted the prophet's attention, and the eyeball in her hand was raised again.

But this time, what bloomed out was a single circle made up of bright white runes, with a pyramid-shaped triangle in the middle, and of course the phantom of an eye.

Empty gaze!

The special ritual pattern created another effect. The strange power even affected Alhazred who was standing beside them. Both of them suddenly stopped moving, as if they were sinking into nothingness, with a look of fear on their faces.

Lance naturally couldn't just sit there and do nothing, so he blessed and woke them both up immediately. However, at this time the prophet used his skills again.

Ruins and falling rocks!

At this moment, Lance seemed to hear a noise coming from above. Without any hesitation, he took out his large shield and rushed towards the two of them.

"Stand by my side!"

Lance, who was at the end, picked up the nearest Junia with one hand and rushed towards Alhazred, holding up the shield with the other hand.

Almost the next second after he finished, the stone fell and hit the shield with a loud bang. Even Lance's hand holding the shield bent down, and the big shield was deformed.

Lance now knows that he should call the legion over and have them guard the place, otherwise if there are too many people, Lance won’t be able to split himself.

Lance now understood why the friar couldn't defeat the bishop. Which spellcaster could withstand two falling rocks after such a combo?
No wonder such a champion bishop died in the church.

There was no need to guess at that time, everyone knew that the mendicant monk must be an old hand, and he formed a "Siamese twin" with the candle-burning priest. The priest took the damage, otherwise Martin might have died suddenly like the bishop.

The two finally woke up from the dizziness, and their expressions were a little ugly. It was conceivable that breaking free from nothingness still had an impact on them.

But he reacted quickly and returned to the battle quickly, but he didn't dare to stand too close and get implicated.

But there was no time for so much nonsense on the battlefield. While they were holding back the prophet, Joan of Arc and Bigby's persistent house-demolition operations finally paid off, tearing the benches into pieces.

┗|`O′|┛哦~~
Bigby roared and pounced on the prophet, and Joan of Arc was not to be outdone and killed him with an axe.

The two spellcasters also began to take action. The scholar's [Curse of Weakness] descended again to weaken the prophet, while Junia's divine magic turret continued to shoot flashes.

Under the infusion of unreasonable damage, the prophet of doom who even escaped the catastrophe and survived the natural disaster still fell to the ground.

But for some reason, Lance felt a sense of relief and relaxation from him at this moment.

Did he foresee his own death?
Maybe, now that he is dead, those questions have no more meaning.

After the battle, everyone couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief. The pressure brought by this guy was very strong, but for Lance, it was time to reap the rewards.

He went straight over to initiate the sacrifice, and the void tried to devour him, leaving only a pile of torture instruments that hurt him... (End of this chapter)
