"In fact, objectivity is the foundation of everything. Even your desires, feelings, and emotions are all products of objective conditions. They are all objective."

Zhang Jingqing nodded: "Yes, so subjectivity is never free. Subjectivity is a product of objective shaping."

“After understanding this, perhaps since I became a Heavenly Master, my practice has revolved around this matter.”

“That is to get rid of the constraints of the ‘objective’ on ‘me’ as much as possible, and in turn use everything in the objective world to complete the subjective shaping of ‘me’.”

"Whether it is greed, anger, ignorance, the three corpses and nine insects, the eight sufferings of life, and all other sufferings, they are just tools I use to shape 'me'."

"I have to look at every decision and see if it's going to help shape who I am."

Zhang Jingqing scratched himself with the golden light, but his face showed no expression at all, and said:

“Pain is an objective influence on my body. I remain calm, not because I am enduring the pain, but because I have let go of the pain.”

“So, pain, an objective product, cannot affect my subjective self.”

“I can also adjust my subjective emotions and behaviors without depending on any objective conditions.”

"Just like the day I went to give Huaiyi a lesson, and Huaiyi attacked me, his behavior was objectively disobeying the master, but I will not let his objective behavior affect my subjective judgment."

"Even if he is wary of me, even if he disobeys me, I will still treat him the same way, because in these aspects, I am free and at will."

“And the reason why I am free in this aspect is because I have let go, or in other words, I have freed myself from the constraints of objectivity.”

“Life and death are also objective. Even if death comes one day, the unfree, objective part will return to the objective.”

“But that polished subjectivity will continue in the form of expectation.”

"No matter what the objective situation is, whether it is the Tianshi Mansion, my country, culture, or the whole world, the subjective situation has not changed. I am still the same 'me'."

“For me, this is freedom, this is ease.”

Zhang Jingqing patted Zhang Zhiwei on the shoulder and said, "That's why I told you before that you don't have to worry about life and death. For me, this may be a kind of..."

Zhang Jingqing smiled with relief: "At ease."

Zhang Zhiwei looked at Zhang Jingqing's face, with a lot of thoughts in his mind.

He remembered Wu Man who had come to him for help and then asked for death.

At that time, Wu Man had clearly realized and reached a new level, but he did not resist.

Zhang Zhiwei's mind echoed with Wu Man's words.

——The true Dharma, the true ignorance, and the true enlightenment are not fixed things. If what you realize is a fixed thing, such as magical powers or something like that, then you are wrong.

There is truly nothing. There is no body, and even no feeling. Therefore, the five aggregates are empty. There is no light, no color, and nothing can be obtained. This is the time when you have attained Anuttara Samyaksambodhi, a great enlightenment.

Aren’t his words consistent with Master’s words? Getting rid of all the constraints of the objective world on the subjective is emptiness.

With this thought in mind, Zhang Zhiwei told his master what he had just thought. Zhang Jingqing listened and sighed, "I originally thought that he was a demon who had gone from Buddha to demon and was beyond redemption, but I didn't expect that he finally got through it. It can be said that his life in this world was not in vain."

"It went through..." Zhang Zhiwei pondered over his master's words.

"Brother, what you mean is that Wu Man, that crazy guy, has reached the level you just mentioned?" Yi Qian was a little bit unbelieving.

Zhang Jingqing nodded, then shook her head.

"Zhiwei often says that your Xuanmen style is back again." Yi Qian said unhappily.

Then, he looked at Zhang Zhiwei: "Zhiwei, you go ahead and talk."

Zhang Zhiwei thought about it and decided to pass on his enlightenment to Zhang Chulan as soon as he saw him. This would free him from the objective factor of life and death.

Ignoring the objective wishes of the company and the Ten Lords is almost like going against the will of the entire world.

His degree of subjective polishing must be very high, but certainly not as high as Yang Zhu's, so high that he could let go of the whole world.

Because the objective constraints on him still exist, that is the heavenly master's degree.

If you let go of the Heavenly Master's guidance.

Then maybe the Taoist priest can do it.

As for how to let go...

Whether he will break free on his own or just let it get out, I don’t know.

If you can break free on your own, that would be fine, but you are not good enough.

If the matter is resolved by letting it get out, then Bilian will be misleading.

With this thought, Zhang Zhiwei put away all his thoughts and said:

"Master, what you want to say is that Wu Man has let go of all temptations and broken free from the constraints of objectivity, but he has not completely let go of objectivity, or in other words, he has not had time to polish his subjectivity, right?"

Zhang Jingqing nodded: "Yes, he realized the truth, but he didn't practice it."

To break free from objective constraints is enlightenment. As for letting go of all objectivity and the entire world, Zhang Jingqing never thought about it that way.

"It sounds like a pity," Zhang Yi looked at Zhang Zhiwei, "You kid don't give me a chance!"

Zhang Zhiwei said: "It's not a pity at all, or it's not important at all."

Zhang Jingqing nodded: "It really doesn't matter. If he insists on practicing the Tao, he won't be able to realize the Tao. It's rare to be able to reach that step. If he insists on practicing the Tao, he will retreat from that step."

"Mysterious!" Zhang Yi sighed, "I have read the Daoist Canon for my whole life, but I still feel that practicing the Dao is as difficult as ascending to heaven."

At this time, Zhang Zhiwei asked: "Master, where did the "free" subjective part of Wu Manzhao, who saw that the five aggregates are empty and freed from the constraints of the objective, go?"

Zhang Jingqing paused for a moment, and just sat there quietly, without any unnecessary movements.

Zhang Zhiwei knew that his words touched upon something that his master could not speak of.

In other words, the master could use anything to screen himself for Tang, but he didn't want to.

Not saying it is actually saying it.

For a moment, there was silence at the table.

After a while, Zhang Jingqing spoke up: "He passed away and naturally went to the Western Paradise."

Nirvana...Western Paradise...Zhang Zhiwei pondered over these two words.

Jiyu was originally a high-sounding word, but nowadays, any monk’s death can be described as Jiyu, so it cannot be considered something that cannot be said.

But there are many adjectives to describe a monk's death. Does Master's use of "passed away" have any meaning?

Zhang Zhiwei recalled Master’s description of reincarnation. Master said that the underlying logic is the same, but the form of presentation is different.

Wu Man belongs to the Three Treatise School of Buddhism, so his form should be Buddhist form.

In Buddhism, the death of an eminent monk is called "Yuan Ji" or "Nirvana".

"Yuanji" means that all virtues are perfected and all evils are extinguished.

"Nirvana" is a religious term in Sanskrit, which means liberation from suffering through enlightenment.

These two are actually the same thing, except that one is a transliteration and the other is a free translation.

Just to mention, "Yuan Ji" is a word invented by Master Xuanzang, the leader of the Faxiang School, one of the eight Buddhist schools.

Tang Xuanzang did not use the word "nirvana" but "enlightenment". There must be a deep meaning behind this. Zhang Zhiwei did not know what it was and had no intention of delving into it.

He was thinking about another thing. Although he was not proficient in Buddhist principles, he still had some basic common sense. Buddha has three bodies: incarnation, reward body, and Dharma body.

The Buddha Shakyamuni passed away under the Posah tree. This was the death of his incarnation, but his reward body and Dharma body still exist.

Therefore, the Buddha’s nirvana cannot be said to be death.

This also seems to correspond to what Master said about the relationship between the subjective and the objective.

The founder of Buddhism, Sakyamuni, died physically in the objective world, but his refined subjectivity survived.

The reward body and the Dharma body may be subjective, but even if not, there should be a relationship between them.

And if, as I think, the subjective and the objective are equal, then Buddha is... the world?
Western Paradise?!
After Wu Man died, would he have a retribution body and a Dharma body?
Even if he is not as good as Buddha, at least he should have left something behind.

Zhang Zhiwei recalled that in the original plot, after Wu Man died, the head of the Wang family became a monk and built a pagoda for Wu Man to enshrine him.

At that time, the Wang family had not yet captured spirits and sent generals, so there should have been no such mess as capturing spirits.

Master said that the underlying logic is the same, since the founder of Buddhism, Sakyamuni, left behind both the reward body and the Dharma body.
