Under one person: I, Zhang Zhiwei, the arrogant Zhang.

Chapter 667: Going to Longhu Mountain and Instructing Zhou Sheng

Chapter 667 Returning to Mount Longhu to instruct Zhou Sheng
"A Bodhisattva of the Tenth Bhumi?"

Cheng Zhen was shocked, with a look of disbelief on his face. His master, nicknamed Immortal, was only a lowly person, but the little Tianshi, a junior, was actually a Tenth Bhumi Bodhisattva? Five realms higher than his master?
Arhat is the highest level of achievement in the Hinayana. To go further, one must practice the Mahayana. Above Arhat in the Mahayana are Bodhisattvas and Buddhas. The Bodhisattva level is further divided into ten stages.

"Is the realm of the Little Heavenly Master so high?"

Li Muxuan was also shocked. He had always known that the young master was powerful, but judging from his words, actions, and style of doing things, he didn't seem to be at a higher level than his master.

Zuo Ruotong shook his head and said, "You don't have to be too obsessed with these. In fact, the so-called fourth-level arhats and ten-level bodhisattvas are just a reference. You must not read them literally, otherwise you will be attached to appearances."

"In my opinion, whether it is the realm of the fourth-level arhat or the realm of the tenth-level bodhisattva, it is actually a matter of perspective. The scope and degree of perspective are also related to one thought."

"'The most difficult thing to calm down is the one thought that comes first'. This thought is the thought at the moment, which is caused by the feelings and attachments of greed, anger, ignorance, arrogance and doubt."

"In life, when learning Buddhism and cultivating the Way, if this thought can be calmed, then all things are empty. However, this thought is the most difficult to calm, so all cultivation is very strenuous."

"The little celestial master has a calm mind and clear thoughts, so the fourth-level arhats and the tenth-level bodhisattvas are all within his mind. All dharmas are empty, and for him, all dharmas are accessible."

In a flash, it sounds really mysterious... Li Muxuan said with envy: "Then Master, how did the little master do this?!"

Zuo Ruotong said: "This is determined by one's state of mind and understanding. According to Taoism, this is an innate spiritual root, and according to Buddhism, this is a superior root. The innate root cannot be envied, and the only way to make up for the gap is to improve one's acquired ability!"

Acquired capacity... Li Muxuan also spent a few days with Zhang Zhiwei and his group. Naturally, he knew how hard Zhang Huaiyi, Lu Ci and others worked in their cultivation. And they were just trying to emulate Zhang Zhiwei. In that case, they were probably no match for Zhang Zhiwei in terms of acquired capacity.

But in fact, Zuo Rutong said this to himself.

If you ask who is the number one king in this one-person world, it must be Zuo Menchang.

Si Chong, the second-in-command of the Trinity Sect, and the eldest disciple Cheng Zhen, tried their best to maintain their survival, but they could only hold on for about 10 to 20 days before their minds were damaged, they suffered splitting headaches, and could not continue.

But Zuo Rutong managed to maintain it for decades.

Over the past few decades, he has worked day and night without slacking off at all, even more so than Tian Jinzhong who has not slept for decades.

If he is not the king of the first volume, who is?

Although Zuo Rutong did not have any fruit position, some parts of him had been polished into real gold, which even Zhang Zhiwei could not match.

With such great perseverance, if Zuo Rutong had not been betrayed by the Trinity Sect, who knows how high his achievements would have been!
Of course, it’s a bit of an exaggeration to say that he was cheated, but he was indeed delayed.

He was a determined seeker of truth, but sadly, he spent his entire life seeking the art of immortality under the lie of the Trinity Sect.

Even though in the end, his technique was close to Taoism, it was still technique after all, and ended with regret.

And now, he has walked on the correct path of seeking the truth, with the character and will that he has honed through decades of reverse life, and the crutch of the Three Levels of Reverse Life.

As long as there is enough time, the road ahead will be smooth for Zuo Menchang.

And what the left gatekeeper sought was not to become an Arhat.

This is just the Hinayana path of seeking personal liberation. In Buddhism, the biggest difference between Hinayana and Mahayana is that one is about liberating oneself, and the other is about liberating everyone together.

What he wanted was a road that could lead the entire Trinity Sect to heaven.

At this time, Li Muxuan suddenly asked: "Master, you said that the little celestial master can calm his mind with one thought, so he has reached this state. I said, if, if one day, he can't calm his mind, what will happen?"

Zuo Ruotong said: "Then he will fall."

In the plot, Wu Gensheng fell into depravity due to some unexpected events. He couldn't calm down and ended up causing a lot of trouble.

Li Muxuan remembered that his master said Zhang Zhiwei was a Bodhisattva of the Tenth Bhumi, so he asked:

"Then if he falls to a lower level, will he become an Arhat?"

Zuo Ruotong shook his head. "This account is not calculated that way. No one can predict how it will turn out. However, I hope that there will never be such a day."

Li Muxuan continued, "Speaking of Arhats, when the little celestial master went into the mountains before, the monks of the Three Theories School thanked him, saying that he had saved Wu Man and helped him break through ignorance and reach the state of emptiness of the five aggregates. The emptiness of the five aggregates is the fruition of Arhats, right?"

Zuo Ruotong nodded: "Yes!"

"But he died just after attaining the status of Arhat. Wasn't it all in vain?" Li Muxuan asked.

…………

…………

the other side.

"Then Wu Man died just after he attained the status of an Arhat. Wasn't that a waste of his status?"

Zhang Huaiyi was also asking Zhang Jingqing about this matter.

Just now, they were asking Zhang Zhiwei about his adventure in the mountains. When Zhang Zhiwei started to explore the mountains, they were climbing the mountain and missed a lot, which they of course had to make up for afterwards.

They were embarrassed to ask before because Master Zuo and the master were discussing Taoism. The discussion between the two seniors was very valuable, so the gossip about Zhang Zhiwei's adventure in the mountains had to be postponed. Now that Master Zuo came, they started asking.

Zhang Zhiwei was not a person who liked to hide things, so he told the story.

When everyone heard that Master Mo Lun of the Three Theory School was grateful to Zhang Zhiwei for helping Wu Man and decided not to interfere in the matter, they naturally started talking about Wu Man's case.

Before, they didn’t think Wu Man was anything special, but after listening to Master Heng Lin’s Buddhist lectures, they suddenly realized that Wu Man was extremely remarkable.

But if it is so extraordinary, why should we go to die?
Zhang Huaiyi was puzzled. If it were him, facing Zhang Zhiwei, even if he really couldn't beat him, he would fight to the death.

After all, it’s not easy to reach that state, how can I be willing to die before I can fully experience it?

He asked Zhang Zhiwei the reason, and Zhang Zhiwei said that if he was not decent, he would help him to be decent.

Zhang Huaiyi was not satisfied with the answer, so he went to ask his master Zhang Jingqing again.

Zhang Jingqing said: "When he decided to die, he could see that the five aggregates are empty and attain the status of an Arhat."

"Whether Zhiwei kills him or not, he will die. If he decides not to die, he won't be able to prove it."

Upon hearing this, Zhang Huaiyi was puzzled: "Is it that seeing the five aggregates are empty and attaining Arhatship is just for the sake of death? What's the point then?"

Zhang Jingqing shook his head and said, "Of course it's not for death, but to repay a debt. Among the five aggregates, there is a skandha, which is related to the good and evil of greed, anger, etc., and is the function of all minds."

"If you do something wrong and owe a debt, but don't pay it back and resolve the cause and effect, how can you let go of this karma?"

"The state before Arhat is called 'Anagami', also known as 'non-repayment fruit', which means to pay back debts and resolve karma."

"As the saying goes, my life is over, my practice is complete, my work is done, and I will not be reborn again. This is what it means. This also applies to our Dao sect."

"Do you remember? Your master has always warned you to focus on cultivating your mind, observing the precepts, and not to resort to evil means."

“When dealing with people, one should be able to see the circle everywhere, be round everywhere, and be able to handle everything with ease. One should cultivate a perfect and flawless state of mind and leave no gaps in one’s heart.”

"This way, next time you pass this level, you'll be able to get through it easily."

"Otherwise, the gap is too big, and the wrongs I have done are too many to pay back, so I can only risk my life to get through this."

After listening to the master's words, Zhang Zhiwei recalled the lesson his master had given him on the way to attend the birthday banquet of Mr. Lu. At that time, there was a group of bandits who had evil intentions but did not act. He wanted to kill them, but the master stopped him in order to prevent such a situation from happening.

People may act on impulse and do things that are not in line with their true intentions due to interference from external factors.

However, when you are subjective and independent and eliminate all external factors, and then think about this matter again, you will often get different results.

Just like Lu Xun trampled on his brother's kite when he was a child, and felt guilty when he grew up, this is the gap in the heart.

Wu Manxiu's Three Treatise School is actually the Mahayana path, and what he seeks is definitely not just to become an Arhat.

If he had a master like Zhang Jingqing who taught by example, he might have continued his practice and gone further and higher.

Zhang Huaiyi understood what Zhang Jingqing meant, but he still wanted to ask, given Wu Man’s state of mind at that time, if he wanted to resist, would he be able to fight against his senior brother?
However, he was a smart man and knew that he would probably get beaten if he asked, so he didn't ask.

He looked at Zhang Zhiwei, and actually had the answer in his heart.

Strictly speaking, Zhang Huaiyi is not a seeker of truth, at least, not yet.

For those who seek the truth, supernatural powers are crutches to help them follow the path.

But what Zhang Huaiyi is thinking about now is to build a crutch that is so powerful that no one can beat him.

It would be best if this crutch could beat up my brother.

In this way, he might be able to let go of his obsession and walk the path of peace.

……

The group walked for a while and came to a place that was not on the way. Hong Yin and Zhou Meng left and headed for Wudang Mountain, and Zhang Zhiwei and his group also returned to Longhu Mountain.

As soon as they returned to Longhu Mountain, Zhang Jingqing, Yi Qian and others started to get busy. After all, the Tiantai Sect incident was a big deal, and they had to make some arrangements and clean up the mess.

The others began to go into seclusion. Before going through the mountains, Zhang Zhiwei gave a sermon in the inn. After going through the mountains, Henglin Dashun talked about Buddhism. These were all gains. They had to go into seclusion to sort out what they had gained and digest it.

Even Lu Ci put his farming career on hold and began to seriously retreat.

Zhang Zhiwei took a few leaps and reached the top of Tianmen Mountain.

The crooked tree on the top of the mountain sensed his arrival and quickly waved its branches, making rustling sounds to express its welcome.

After not seeing the tree for a few days, it has become more luxuriant than before. The charred part at the bottom of the trunk that was struck by lightning has sprouted new buds, and even the crooked trunk has been straightened, giving it a completely new look.

Zhang Zhiwei walked over and stroked the branches and leaves with his hand.

The leaves of the crooked tree immediately came over and grabbed his hand like a human hand, but the force was very light, as if afraid to offend him.

"Hello, hello!" Zhang Zhiwei shook his hand.

The crooked tree imitated his action and shook its branches, just like two people shaking hands and greeting each other.

It is already quite spiritual, and with time, it may be able to develop its own wisdom... Zhang Zhiwei is quite caring towards this little tree that he created accidentally.

Afterwards, he began to sit cross-legged under the tree and meditate, carefully filtering his thoughts, trying to organize those scattered inspirations and turn them into gains.

While he was meditating, the crooked tree behind him shook gently. The leaves rubbed against each other without making any sound. Countless stars slowly fell from the leaves, hanging down like a curtain, isolating Zhang Zhiwei from it.

In an instant, the sound of the wind on the top of the mountain disappeared, as did the chirping of insects around. It provided Zhang Zhiwei with an undisturbed and absolutely quiet place for meditation.

Zhang Zhiwei continued to meditate with his eyes closed, and he sat there until late at night.

The moon was shining brightly, the sky was filled with stars. Zhang Zhiwei continued to concentrate on his thoughts, but at the same time he also separated a wisp of his consciousness and began to operate the Saint Thief, absorbing the starlight and moonlight from the three treasures of heaven.

For a moment, the moonlight was as bright as water, and the wind seemed to create ripples, and the starlight turned into scattered stardust.

Zhang Zhiwei sat cross-legged in the seed of moonlight and starlight. His chest and abdomen rose and fell regularly. With every breath he took, the moonlight and starlight entered his body.

The crooked tree behind him was also shrouded in moonlight and starlight. Although it could not absorb it directly, bathing in it had huge benefits.

Until the next day, when the morning light was dim, the moonlight and starlight faded away, and the sun appeared.

Zhang Zhiwei absorbed an equal amount of sun essence according to the amount of starlight and moonlight he absorbed last night, and then stopped breathing.

Although sun exposure is good, one should not be greedy. What he wants is the balance of the three treasures in the body. Too much sun exposure will cause dryness.

When he finished his meditation, the crooked tree behind him also retracted its drooping "curtain", and the trunk swayed slightly, like a puppy wagging its tail.

Zhang Zhiwei waved goodbye to the tree, turned around, went down Tianmen Mountain, and returned to Tianshi Mansion.

At this time, his fellow disciples were attending morning classes, and he skipped classes as usual and found Zhou Sheng.

The boy was lying on a stone slab, his face covered with a lotus leaf, and he was sleeping facing the sun.

Although Zhang Zhiwei's Qi could not be sensed, he did not deliberately hide his movements, and Zhou Sheng heard his footsteps.

Zhou Sheng pushed the lotus leaf off his face, blocked the sunlight with his hands, squinted his eyes and saw that the person coming was Zhang Zhiwei, so he quickly stood up and greeted him.

"Aren't you going to morning class?" Zhang Zhiwei asked.

Zhou Sheng scratched his head and laughed, "Hehehe, when I was in Wudang Mountain, I never attended morning classes!"

Zhang Zhiwei nodded: "You are right, who would go to morning class?"

Zhou Sheng was stunned for a moment, then he smiled and said, "Senior Brother Zhang is really a fellow traveler!"

Zhang Zhiwei did not comment: "Was there any emergency last night?"

"Brother Zhang is fine after yesterday's treatment!" Zhou Sheng said.

"Do you have a solution for this disease?" Zhang Zhiwei asked.

Zhou Sheng said: "My illness is caused by the interference of the solar terms in the outside world. It is the interference of heaven and earth on me. As long as I don't use Tiantong Qimen for a period of time, the self-regulation mechanism of my body will slowly correct the disordered Qi..."

"I mean a permanent solution!" said Zhang Zhiwei.

Zhou Sheng said in a deep voice: "Unless you stop using Tiantong Qimen."

"So do you want to give up?" Zhang Zhiwei asked.

Zhou Sheng thought for a moment and said, "It doesn't matter whether you give up or not. In fact, I practiced this strange art not for the purpose of having powerful fighting skills."

"What I want is to understand the changes in this world and master the changes in this world, and this Qimen is just a tool for me to control these changes."

"Brother Zhang, don't worry. I won't be so obsessed with this tool that I would disregard my own life."

Hearing this, Zhang Zhiwei smiled and said, "Since you have this idea, we can continue the discussion."
