Chapter 1062 Street Raid
Not long after Jack hung up the phone, Danny Reagan got out of a police car and waved to everyone.

This guy was recently "corrupted" by some people, and his family's financial situation has improved a lot. Linda finally replaced his old work suit and leather shoes with new ones, but he still wears his tweed hat.

The newly established security company of Shangri-La Group offered Danny a part-time consulting job. In addition to an annual salary comparable to his income at NYPD, he also received a small dividend every year.

Jack had talked to his father, Commissioner Reagan, several times about this matter. Even though he threatened to withdraw Shangri-La's promise to donate at least $50 a year to the NYPD, the stubborn Irishman still did not give in.

In the end, it was his eldest daughter-in-law, Danny's wife Linda, and daughter Irene who came forward to persuade him, and Director Reagan finally nodded reluctantly.

Danny has a rough character. Although he is a smart detective, he is too sharp-edged to be a part of the government.

Although the Reagan family has produced two chiefs, even Danny himself has never thought of following in his father's footsteps. After all, the NYPD is not run by their family.

Frank Reagan will retire one day, and he has to leave a way out for his eldest son. In fact, it was not Linda and Irene who really convinced him, but Jack who briefly revealed some of the relationship between the Shangri-La Group and a new senator.

In a few decades, the Reagan family may have a third NYPD chief. That person may not be Danny Reagan, but it may be James Reagan, who is still a street patrolman today.

Danny was obviously not aware of the FBI's plan, and was a little surprised to see the people from the Most Wanted Criminals Team. Although he knew that this was a joint operation between the NYPD and the FBI, he was not very clear about the relationship between the International Department and Jack and others.

"Since you are responsible for the escort, isn't it a bit redundant for the old man to send out the ESU?"

This guy started out by flattering everyone in the FBI.

"We were also captured to help. This is still your job before we get on the plane." Jack said as he observed the NYPD's configuration.

This time, Director Reagan dispatched a large force. In addition to the six police cars in the front and back protecting the ESU armored vehicle in the middle of the convoy, there were eight motorcycles responsible for clearing the way along the way, and a police helicopter hovering in the sky.

While everyone was chatting, the ESU armored vehicle slowly drove out of the prison. The sharp-eyed Jack saw the two North Korean visitors and the head of the International Department, Jon Michaels, get into a Suburban with a diplomatic license plate and follow the convoy.

Danny hurried over to the police car he had driven, and the team members got into their cars, with Clay driving the Suburban in front and Jack driving the Yukon behind.

There are only a few ways to leave the island from Manhattan, and the convoy chose the Brooklyn Bridge route as originally planned. The first half of the journey was uneventful, but when approaching the bridge, there was a sudden traffic jam at an intersection.

"Danny, what's the problem?" The two cars of the wanted criminal team were following at the end and couldn't see the road conditions clearly. Jubal, who was sitting in the passenger seat of Clay, picked up the walkie-talkie and asked Danny, who was leading the way.

The latter's voice on the intercom was a little distorted, but the confusion in his tone could still be heard. "I don't know. Suddenly, more than a dozen protesters appeared at the intersection, holding banners and slogans. They looked like Koreans."

Jack's heart skipped a beat when he heard the conversation on the channel. XX (not allowed to write, you can understand it yourself) The two countries have not officially restored diplomatic relations yet, and extradition is a secret diplomatic action. Where the hell did these protesters come from?
Could it be that the South Korean side leaked the information intentionally? They may have a motive, but who gave them the courage?

Thinking of the familiar face of the two visitors from the North, a sense of crisis suddenly rose in his heart. Jack grabbed the intercom and pressed the call button. "Danny, something is wrong. Tell the armored vehicle to back up and let us lead the way."

"Are you sure? Our people have dispersed them, and there doesn't seem to be any problem."

Before Danny could finish his words, the sound in the channel suddenly went silent. The next moment, a huge explosion sounded in front of him, followed by intensive gunfire.

Turn the minute hand of the clock back a few times.

The long convoy led by NYPD motorcycles moved smoothly through the crowded streets of Manhattan. Whenever it approached an intersection, a mounted police officer would stop the traffic on both sides and wait until the convoy passed before letting it go.

But when the convoy arrived at the last intersection before the Brooklyn Bridge, it had to stop because a group of Asian-looking guys appeared out of nowhere, ran to the middle of the road holding all kinds of incomprehensible signs and shouted loudly in Korean.

"Damn it, get out of here." The two groups of mounted police accompanying the convoy on both sides quickly stepped on the accelerator and drove away these guys.

Fortunately, the other side was not large in number. After a few mounted policemen got off the car and handcuffed the two with the loudest voices, the others immediately threw away the banners in their hands and fled.

However, the matter was not over yet. While the mounted police were busy dealing with the protesters, a homeless man wearing a dirty blanket and pushing a supermarket cart staggered onto the sidewalk towards the police car that was clearing the way.

Danny was sitting in the passenger seat of the police car. He just stepped out of the window and reported the situation to the rear with a walkie-talkie in his hand. "Our people have dispersed them."

While speaking, he stretched his hand out of the window and waved, signaling the mounted police next to him to quickly take the homeless man away, but the next scene made his hair stand on end.

The homeless man, who seemed to have a clumsy legs, pushed the cart in his hand forward and ran away. The cart, which was also covered with rags, hit the front of the police car with a slight noise.

Danny's brain hadn't yet fully realized what was happening, but the scene instantly awakened the instincts he had developed while serving overseas.

Just as he subconsciously lowered his head, the cart exploded, and the fragments and broken glass instantly took the lives of the mounted policeman next to the cart and the police officer driving the car.

At the same time, the homeless man who had fled to the side of the road with his back bent lifted up the dirty blanket on his body, revealing an Uzi submachine gun underneath, and began to fire wildly at several mounted police officers at the intersection.

A long box truck that was originally parked at the intersection on the left suddenly started, shifted into first gear and knocked over the police motorcycle parked at the intersection, and then slammed into the front of the police car where Danny was.

The police car was knocked sideways and flew several meters away. The long body of the truck directly blocked the entire intersection.

The side door in the middle of the truck was slammed open, and several smoke bombs were thrown out. Then four or five gunmen wearing gas masks and holding various automatic weapons jumped out of the car and fired wildly at the police cars behind and pedestrians on both sides of the street.
