Chapter 977 In Hawaii (Part )

When Danny told Jack that his ex-wife's current husband and his daughter's stepfather, Stan Edwards, was a wealthy businessman, Jack had no idea until he saw the mansion they lived in.

After the car drove into the gate, there were two stone lions of equal size placed on the left and right of the driveway. They were not the round-headed Chinese-style stone lions stepping on hydrangeas, but sculptures carved from marble with a distinct ancient Greek style.

The neatly trimmed lawns on both sides of the driveway are about the size of three or four basketball courts. At the corner is a small fountain that is nearly two people tall and is also carved from marble.

The house is a modern-style villa with a light steel structure. The area occupied by the garage alone is almost as large as the entire bungalow of an ordinary family.

"Rachel, do you have a live-in maid?" Jack looked at the half-open door of the villa and felt something was wrong.

"No, I locked the door when I left." Rachel, who was sitting in the passenger seat, also realized that the situation was not good.

Danny, who was playing with his daughter in the back seat of the Camaro, looked out, then took out his cell phone and called the police.

"911, what's the emergency?" the police officer at the alarm center asked calmly over the phone.

"My name is Detective Danny Williams, my ID number is 7576. Please send two police cars to 4347 Curioso-Summer Street. There may be a burglary in progress."

"Received. Police car on the way."

"Thank you."

Seeing Danny hang up the phone, Jack opened the car door and got out, putting one hand on the pistol behind his waist while paying attention to the movements in the villa.

"Danny, it's best to let Rachel drive Grace around the streets first."

Danny kissed his daughter on the cheek, "Little monkey, you are going for a ride with your mom. It will only take 5 minutes at most. You can see me before you even finish saying 'I love you Danno', OK?"

The little girl stared with her big eyes, which were clearly black and white, and nodded sensibly.

After Danny struggled to climb out of the reclined seat of the two-door, four-seater sports car, Rachel quickly unbuckled her seat belt, moved from the passenger seat to the driver's seat, and backed out.

After all, Jack came to Hawaii for vacation this time, and he only brought his SIG Sauer P320-XTen sidearm. He had to go through many declaration procedures before taking the plane, but it just came in handy now.

He and Danny entered the house carefully, one after the other, and searched around. They found that the house was empty, so they returned to the door and explained the situation to the HPD (Honolulu Police Department) who had received the call.

Danny's face looked very ugly. Besides the fact that his daughter's room was also turned upside down, which made him feel threatened, there were other reasons.

Of course Jack knew why. Any man would feel uncomfortable seeing those photos in the villa, those intimate photos of his daughter and ex-wife with other men.

"The valuables in the couple's bedroom were all there, including jewelry and expensive watches, but the traces of rummaging were obvious, and the other party had a purpose."

Jack seemed to be communicating with Danny, but he was actually speaking to Rachel who was standing at the door of the house and had not yet come to her senses.

"So why don't you go in and pack some of Grace's and your things?" Danny's meaning was obvious. He hoped that Rachel and her daughter would live outside temporarily.

Rachel looked blankly at the cordoned-off house, then at Danny, speechless, "You mean?"

"Until Jack and I figure out what's going on, I suggest you and Grace stay in a hotel for a few days," Danny suggested. "I've already informed Stan, he's on his return flight and will land in an hour at most. I'll discuss it with him when he gets home."

Rachel subconsciously wanted to refuse, but was frightened by Danny's sudden serious expression.

"You now have two choices, either you take my daughter to stay at the Hilton Hotel, or she will stay with her real father tonight, the man who loves her most in the world."

Rachel looked at the man in front of her and suddenly felt a little strange, even though he was once her husband. After a while, she reorganized her expression and said, "I'll go in and pack some clothes."

Watching his ex-wife disappear into the house, Danny sighed, "I'd bet my last tie that Stan has something to do with this."

"Is there really someone wearing a tie in Hawaii?" Jack looked at the time on his watch suspiciously.

"Rachel said Stan Edwards will be landing in an hour at most. Can you find out his flight? Maybe I can help arrange a pick-up for your ex-wife's current husband."

Danny took out his phone and said, "I'll ask Kono to check it out. She's the best at this kind of thing."

Ten minutes later, the silver Camaro was driving on the highway to Honolulu International Airport, and Danny, sitting in the passenger seat, was still talking nonstop.

"I feel very uncomfortable. To be honest, I haven't recovered from the shock yet. What happened just now has shortened my life by at least five years."

"No, you're fine. If you hadn't been hit by a bullet while fighting the criminals, you would have lived a long life. The pleasant climate in Hawaii keeps your body functioning well."

Jack patted his shoulder and released a long-acting healing spell, and found that his "uncle" was as strong as a bull, not at all like a middle-aged man over 40. At least he didn't have to worry about hardware problems when he went to the beach to pick up bikini girls.

He turned his head to look at Danny's face and tried to persuade him, "In fact, you should accompany Rachel and Grace to the hotel. I said you can leave this matter to me. The way you look now makes me a little worried."

Danny frowned and looked at Jack who was driving with some confusion, "What's wrong with my face? I'm normal now. You are also a policeman, and federal agents are also policemen, right? Tell me, do you think Stan has anything to do with what happened today?"

"I agree with you on this point, but as an FBI psychological profiler, Danny, my dear 'uncle'. Uh."

Jack felt a little awkward because the repetition rate of American names was too high, like him and Reacher, or the "Uncle Danny" in front of him and Danny Reagan in New York.

".As a not-so-experienced psychological profiler, your expression right now tells me that you are not going to the airport with me to pick someone up, but to beat up someone who has made you very unhappy."

"I certainly had reason to be angry, my daughter lived in that house and her bedroom was also rummaged through every night.

If I find out that Stan is indeed involved in this matter, I will "encourage" him to tell everything he knows." Danny's eyes almost popped out when he spoke.

"But you are also a policeman. You have a pistol and a badge on your waist. You will mess everything up." Jack tried his best to comfort this man who is obsessed with his daughter.

"I know the governor of Hawaii gave Five-O a lot of power, but I believe if you were to go to court over something like this, you might not lose your job, but something more important.

Think about Grace's custody. Why did you move all the way from New Jersey to Hawaii? Do you want to lose your daughter again? Trust me, there's no need to make things too complicated."

Jack's words hit Danny's sore spot directly, making him deflate instantly like a punctured balloon.
