Homecoming from Hogwarts

Chapter 1074 Deadly Cold

On the platform at the finish line, everyone smiled at Fleur, and they all agreed with Harry's proposal.

Facing everyone's friendly smiles, Furong looked caught off guard and shocked.

Admittedly, she was the one who found the pattern and saved everyone, but she never expected that because of this, other people would give up this key that should be very important.

"You really want to."

Furong hesitated, as if she still couldn't believe it.

"Oh, just take it."

Harry shrugged and said in a nonchalant tone,

"Like Viktor said, we will try our best in the next competition."

After a pause, Harry urged again,

"Take it quickly, before we regret it."

"Oh--"

Furong's mouth corners tilted, and arcs of light flashed in her blue eyes.
“You guys are so nice!”

Turning to face the torch-like light, Furong took a deep breath, stood on tiptoe, reached her hand into the white light, and took out the key from it.

Everyone gathered around immediately, looking curiously at the old bronze key lying flat in Furong's palm.

"What effect will it have?"

Cedric asked doubtfully.

"have no idea--"

Hermione answered simply,
"Opening a door or something, I guess we won't know until the end."

Furong happily hid the key in her pocket. Before she had time to thank everyone for their generosity, another quaint stone door, the one they had passed through twice, appeared on the platform.

"It feels like a game of levels—"

Harry breathed a sigh of relief, exhausted.

Complaints are complaints, but giving up is impossible anyway.

Everyone adjusted their mood slightly and then headed towards new challenges again.

The expected darkness fell again, and Harry's vision had just adjusted to the dimness when the strong white light that shone into his eyes roughly stimulated his eyes to tears!

Wow!
The dizzy feeling brought about by the sudden change of environment had not yet left Harry's mind, and the deep cold that seemed to freeze even the soul made Harry scream in pain.

"What the hell is this place!"

Harry screamed 'terribly',

"Professor Blaine got us to the North Pole?!"

The North Pole was just a joke, but the warriors participating in the competition were indeed trapped in the ice and snow.

Everything in sight was white. The north wind was as cold as a knife, carrying heavy snow that was swirling in the air. The whistling sound was audible, as mournful as the wailing of a female ghost!

hiss.
Hermione snatched the sports jacket that Harry had helped her hold and put it on tremblingly. However, the thickness of the sports jacket was too thin for such a harsh environment and could not bring enough warmth to both of them!

Harry and Hermione huddled together, hugging each other tightly for warmth.

"Do something, Hermione!"

Harry continued to scream, the severe cold made it impossible for him to think about what he should do.

"I'm trying, Harry!"

In less than half a minute, a layer of 'white hair' grew on the two of them, Hermione said in a trembling voice.

The cold made her body stiff. Hermione struggled to pull her wand out of her sleeve and waved it several times before she could barely make a lily-of-the-valley-shaped flame come out of the wand.

However, the warmth brought by the fire could not reach the two of them at all. It was taken away by the biting cold wind and had no effect at all.

"Damn it, this won't work!"

Hermione screamed frantically, she put out her own flame and tapped Harry and herself with her wand.

A warm current flowed through his body, and Harry, whose mind was almost frozen, finally survived. But before the two of them could breathe a sigh of relief, the endless cold took away the warmth in their bodies.

"Again, Hermione!"

Harry shouted as the white frost filled the sky and filled his vision.

So Hermione used the magic again, and taking advantage of the brief relaxation of his body, Harry pulled out his wand and made the tip of his wand emit an orange-red flame.

The flames were a little more intense, barely enough to make the howling cold wind less biting.

"What do we do now, Hermione!"

In order to overcome the noisy wind, Harry had to shout as he held up the flaming wand with great effort. He could feel the flames consuming his remaining magic power like a thread unraveling. "There must be a way."

Hermione's face turned ashen as she gritted her teeth. She squinted her eyes and looked around. She could vaguely see a few figures struggling not far from them, and another person tripped over something and fell in the snow.

In addition, there were several things standing in the snow.

About a hundred feet away from them there was a dark, irregularly shaped but tall object, and around it were four... door frames?

"I—I think."

Hermione curled up and spoke in a shrill voice.
“We have what we need there”

"Red stones on the ground!"

Before Hermione could finish her words, the man who had just fallen down some distance away from them let out a roar.

It was Viktor, who used magic to amplify his voice.

"Break it and you'll get warmth!"

Harry and Hermione looked at each other and Harry hastily pointed his flaming wand at the snow that had buried him knees.

The flames melted the snow on the ground, exposing the black mud.

There were many red stones as big as the Quaffle growing one after another on the black land. These stones were extremely fragile. The flame of Harry's wand flickered and only swept across the stones. Then, the red stones shattered, and a few wisps of green smoke with red fluorescence emerged and quickly surrounded Harry.

"Ugh!"

It was like soaking in a hot spring. The sudden warmth made Harry squint his eyes and show an expression of enjoyment!

"W-what's the matter, har-harry?"

Hermione's teeth were chattering as she looked in amazement at the red smoke that was surrounding Harry like a floating smoke ring.

Harry opened his eyes, looked at the red smoke surrounding him, then looked at Hermione who was almost frozen, and suddenly realized that something was wrong.

"Viktor is right, Hermione, break some rocks quickly, this smoke can keep out the cold!"

Hermione pointed her wand at another red stone with doubt. After a flash of silver light, she was also trapped by the red smoke.

"Oh!"

Hermione opened her hands to touch the white ice and snow everywhere, but she didn't feel any cold at all.
"This is amazing, I never knew any magic could have such an effect!"

Harry was too lazy to be surprised by such things. He let out a long sigh.

"Merlin's beard. For Viktor's sake, I forgive Karkaroff!"

Hermione rolled her eyes at Harry and looked again at the dark figure standing in front of her.

After the severe cold disappeared, wind and snow became a rare scenery.

Harry grabbed a handful of snow from the ground and toyed with it in his palm, enjoying the strange pleasure of touching the ice and snow but not feeling the cold.

"Come on, let's go take a look."

Hermione was obviously more concerned about how they should get through this level. She held Harry's arm, and the two of them rushed towards the tall black shadow, one step deep and one step shallow. The warrior teams in all directions had almost gotten over their surprise and walked towards the black shadow like them.

The black shadows were surrounded by stone gates.

Inside the rough stone door frame was a mysterious transparent vortex, which seemed to be able to teleport them to another dimension.

The four doors seemed to mean that each team needed to choose one.

"Let's go."

After standing in front of the door for a while, Hermione pulled Harry again.

They would surely not be able to escape and enter the door, but before that, they had to figure out what that shadow was.

When Hermione and Harry arrived under the shadows, several other teams also arrived one after another.

"Thank you, Viktor!"

Cedric nodded to Viktor to express his gratitude.

"We were almost frozen to death if you hadn't reminded us in time."

"Oh, you're welcome. It was just luck that I tripped over the red stone."

Victor frowned and spoke in a muffled voice.

Harry walked up to it, brushed off the floating snow on the surface of the giant in front of him, and frowned slightly.
"Ice. What do you mean, do we need to break it?"

Hermione raised her wand again and conjured fire, melting the snow covering the icy blue surface of the ice.

Well!
When the ice was completely exposed in front of them, everyone's expressions became slightly enthusiastic.
