Homecoming from Hogwarts
Chapter 1165 Lovegood Father and Daughter
Mr. Lovegood's home is very similar to his personality, and its appearance is very strange, like a miniature black castle.
Egwene suffered a terrible loss during her first visit to Mr. Lovegood's home.
At that time, she came to deliver some fresh fruits and vegetables to Mr. Lovegood as agreed. It was completely unrealistic to expect a single man living alone to go to the village at the foot of the mountain to buy vegetables on time.
Mr. Lovegood seemed to be writing an article in the house at the time. When she knocked on the wooden door of the fenced yard with some strange warning words on it, Mr. Lovegood just called out from inside the house and asked her to come in.
As a housewife who often deals with crops.
Egwene was immediately attracted by the various exotic plants planted along the winding path leading to the house.
She involuntarily walked towards a vine full of plump bean pods.
Then, Egwene got to know a magical plant called the knotweed vine, which she will never forget!
"I'm sorry, Mr. Lovegood—"
Perhaps to fit the round outline of the house, all the furniture in the room is made into a curved shape that can fit the wall, including the stove, sink and cupboard.
Moreover, the furniture is painted with flowers, insects and birds in bright primary colors.
Yiwen felt uncomfortable suddenly coming from her gloomy home into such a warm and serious environment.
She stood in front of the fireplace, clutching the corner of her clothes, leaning forward and nodding her head, looking at the ceiling pierced by a cast-iron spiral staircase in the center of the room.
Mr. Lovegood was nowhere to be seen on the first floor, nor were Luna and Bona, and Egwene supposed they were upstairs.
"Come up on your own, Egwene. I'm writing an important article that needs to be published tomorrow morning!"
From upstairs came the muffled voice of Mr. Lovegood, who sounded like he had a cold.
Egwene left the fresh vegetables she brought for Mr. Lovegood on the first floor and climbed the stairs alone.
She had never been to the second floor of Mr. Lovegood's house. It was much messier than the first floor. It looked like a living room and a studio, with papers and books piled everywhere.
Hanging from the ceiling were some exquisite animal models. When they saw a stranger coming to the house, the models all grinned at her.
Egwene shrank back in fear, turned her eyes, and found Mr. Lovegood writing furiously among a pile of papers.
He was wearing a stained nightgown, and his long, cotton-candy white hair was swaying in the wind that came in through the window, blowing his nightgown into the shape of a puff that medieval noble women would wear.
"Oh, Mr. Lovegood, you'll catch a cold."
Egwene said in surprise, she hurried over and closed the window for him.
Mr. Lovegood did not even look up during this process, as he was concentrating on "working on" his article, which made Egwene a little embarrassed.
"Oh, may I ask what that is, Mr. Lovegood?"
A huge gray spiral horn in front of Lovegood naturally caught Egwene's sight.
"Ah, that's what I'm writing about—"
Mr. Lovegood, who had been keeping his head down, finally raised his head. He introduced Egwene enthusiastically.
"A friend of mine from the Ministry of Magic saw it while cleaning up the ruins after the Battle of Diagon Alley.
He asked several people what it was but couldn't figure it out, so he came to me and I recognized it right away: it was the horn of a Scimitar-Horned Snorkle!"
There was a hint of inferiority in Igwen's confused eyes. She did not continue asking, but nodded slightly.
"The Scimitar-Horned Snorkle is a very sensitive and shy magical animal, but it can become very unfriendly if provoked. Now that it was found in the ruins of Diagon Alley, I have solid evidence!"
Mr. Lovegood stared at the strange-looking horn in fascination.
"Uh what evidence?"
Evan couldn't help but ask.
"Of course it was You-Know-Who who used the Squigglehorn Snorkle in the Battle of Diagon Alley!"
Mr. Lovegood shouted in a matter-of-fact tone,
“That’s the article I’m writing!”
"Who are you talking to, Dad!"
Suddenly, there was a sound of a door opening upstairs, and a teenage girl skipped out of the room.
"Mrs. Senna down the mountain, she and Bona are going to stay at our house tonight."
Mr. Lovegood had a completely different attitude towards his daughter. His eyes, bloodshot from staying up late, were full of tenderness.
"mom!"
A crisp little girl's voice came from the room. After a thud, a girl with pigtails and bare feet rushed down the stairs and ran into Egwene's arms.
"Oh, you didn't get into any trouble with Mr. Lovegood and Sister Luna, did you, Bona?"
Egwene happily picked up her daughter and pecked Bona's chubby cheeks. "I'm not messing around, Mom!"
Bona shook her head seriously, then looked at her mother eagerly.
"Are we going to sleep here tonight?"
"Oh, because your dad is going to entertain some friends at home--"
Egwene glanced at Mr. Lovegood, who was writing his article again, and breathed a sigh of relief when she didn't see any unhappy expression on his face.
She pinched Bona's cheek, her expression full of maternal tenderness.
"What were you and Luna just playing in the room?"
"Sister Luna is telling me about Hogwarts and Professor Brain!"
Bona said excitedly,
"Mom, when can I go to Hogwarts? I also want to take Professor Blaine's physical education class!"
"Oh, you are too young, Bona, you need to wait a few more years before you can go to school."
Egwene said, her eyes flickering.
This answer made the little girl very dissatisfied. She pouted and continued to make a noise.
"Good afternoon, Mrs. Sena--"
Looking at Egwene and Bona, Luna spoke at the right time with a smile that contained a hint of envy.
"Oh, good afternoon, Luna--"
Egwene smiled shyly in response.
"You're at least an inch taller than you were at Christmas, Luna."
Luna tilted her head and smiled sweetly. She saw her father was immersed in the article.
"Come to my room, Mrs. Senna. I'm telling Bonnie about how Professor Brains subdued dozens of Dementors during the Quidditch match between Gryffindor and Hufflepuff."
Luna waved to Egwene as if she were an old friend.
"Let's listen together."
With that, she skipped back to her room.
A little weird girl——
Yiwen thought so in her heart, but then, inexplicable uneasiness and worry came over her again.
Mr. Amos Towers Braine has single-handedly subdued dozens of the terrible Dementors in Azkaban. Is there really anyone who can fight against creatures as terrible as the Dementors?
Egwene pursed her lips.
However, it is not impossible that a wizard as great as Amos Towers and Albus Dumbledore could be more powerful than a Dementor.
As soon as she entered the room covered with light blue carpet, Ewen was attracted by a large picture frame placed on the cabinet beside the big bed.
The photo in the frame shows a young Luna embracing a woman who looks very similar to her.
Egwene's expression changed.
She is an 'old resident' of St Catchpole Village.
It's not like she hadn't heard of Mrs. Lovegood's tragedy.
As soon as she entered the room, Bona twisted her body out of Egwene's arms, jumped onto Luna's bed and bounced around freely.
"I haven't finished the story just now, Sister Luna. I still want to hear how the great Professor Braine drove away so many Dementors!"
There was not a single stool in the room, and Egwene was wondering where she should sit.
"Just sit on the bed, Mrs. Senna—"
Luna said this with understanding, then she jumped onto the bed and told Bona about the guardian angel that occupied the entire campus.
"Hurry up and sit down, Mom, Sister Luna is going to tell you a story!"
Bona saw that her mother was still standing uncomfortably at the end of the bed, waving her hands in dissatisfaction.
Egwene had no choice but to obey her daughter's command and half of her butt was resting on Luna's fragrant bed.
She had no intention of spending the entire afternoon in Mr. Lovegood's daughter's room.
Just out of politeness and to appease Bona, she planned to look around the house later to see if there was anything she could help with, such as cleaning the room and tidying up the clutter.
A home without a hostess would seem a bit inappropriate no matter how warm it is.
While thinking about how to tidy up Mr. Lovegood's messy studio, Egwene listened to Luna's "long talk" about the well-known Amos Tower Blaine.
Then, I stayed like this until the evening.
