Homecoming from Hogwarts

Chapter 963 Furious

Amosta has long been a household name in the British magical community. To this day, unless he deliberately hides, his whereabouts can always be discovered by those who are interested.

Before he and Remus boarded the plane, the senior officials of the British Ministry of Magic already knew that he would be returning to London today.

After a weekend, Monday morning was the busiest time of the week, as many serious issues required the Minister of Magic to make decisions personally. However, during this time, the door of Cornelius Fudge's office was closed for several hours, and all unintentional visitors were severely reprimanded.

"Black has asked for leave from Madam Bones, Minister Fudge, Madam Umbridge -"

Dawlish grabbed a stamped red paper airplane from the fireplace in the Minister of Magic's office, unfolded it and took a quick look at it. His sweaty face changed slightly and he blurted out.

After turning his head, the two gloomy gazes coming towards him made Dalish's eyebrows jump suddenly, but he still endured the heavy pressure and said in a difficult tone,
"According to the spy who is keeping an eye on Black, just 20 minutes ago, Black handed Ms. Bones a note saying that he would go to the Muggle airport to meet Brian and the werewolf."

The atmosphere in the office was as heavy as lead and mercury. The paper planes hovering in the air seemed to sense the heaviness and, like Dawlish, they stayed far away, not daring to approach the two high-ranking officials of the Ministry of Magic who were sitting opposite each other on the desk.

"It's just like I told you, Minister!"

Umbridge looked anxiously at Fudge's gloomy, round face that seemed to be dripping with water, and shouted in a shrill voice amid the annoying ticking of the pendulum,

"We can no longer have illusions."

"I have no illusions, Dolores."

Fudge clenched his fists and said,
"I'm just wondering if this is the right time. You know, Brian has become popular again in New York. You can hear the voices of the people. If we throw that matter out at this time and cause trouble for Hogwarts, will it cause public disgust?"

"Oh, how could I not understand, Minister!"

Umbridge looked disgusted.

"At the Ministry, I now hear the staff talking about Amos Tower Blaine at least twenty times a day, and many people are chanting Amos Tower Blaine's name as if he were a saint!
But we all know that he has barely concealed his ambitions now. Look at the agreement he reached with the President of the American Magic Congress. The Minister asked the Aurors to go to Hogwarts to discuss how to "safety". Oh, it's ridiculous, as if we can't see that he wants to gather the army and secretly overthrow the Ministry of Magic!"

boom!
Umbridge successfully ignited Fudge's anger. He slammed his fist on the table. The ink from the knocked-over ink bottle spilled and stained many documents black, but Fudge didn't even look at it. He was like an old lion. Facing the provocation of a young lion, he could only vent his fear by roaring and yelling.

"I told you, Dolores, this would never happen!"

Fudge's round face flushed red, and he gasped and shouted,
"This is against the rules. Without the permission of the Ministry of Magic, no Auror from the Magical Congress can set foot on the land of the British wizarding world!"

Fudge's fury not only did not frighten Umbridge, but instead made her slightly bulging eyes flash with a hint of joy.
"But he has already done it, hasn't he, Minister? He agreed to the request of the American Magical Congress without permission. With all due respect, if we are the ones who stop the American Aurors from entering the country, it will be embarrassing for us, Minister. And you need to consider that if Brian secretly allows those Aurors to enter the country..."

boom!
Fudge slammed the table down again, causing the overturned ink bottle to roll to the floor and shatter.

"If he does it, Dolores!"

Fudge blurted out in anger,

"I swear I will send all the Dementors to arrest Brian and make him spend the rest of his life in Azkaban!"

It is hard to say how much effect Dementors, which are a nightmare to ordinary wizards, can have on Amosstar Braine. After all, Braine once captured many Dementors easily in front of the world.

"If Amosta really does this, Minister, then we are too passive. We must become proactive and can no longer allow Amosta Braine to gain a good reputation.
Let the story of that grandstanding little wizard out. In order to save him, Dumbledore and Braine will definitely compromise with the Ministry of Magic. They have no choice but to do this, otherwise they will just have to watch the little guy being locked up in Azkaban and living with the Dementors!"

When it comes to this, the furious Fudge hesitates again. He leaves his desk and walks around anxiously in his office.

"I know exactly what you're thinking, Dolores. It's a good idea. In order to save Harry Potter, they have no choice but to bow to the Ministry of Magic, but that is..."

Fudge suddenly began to stammer and his speech became unclear. "What is it, Minister?" Umbridge asked anxiously.

"After all"

Fudge took a deep breath, clenched his fists so tightly that his nails dug into his palms.

"It's Harry Potter."

It is Harry Potter after all?
Umbridge was stunned for a moment, and then she realized what Fudge was hesitating about. She stood up from her chair and came to Fudge's side. Her shrill and thin voice was filled with disbelief.

"So what, Minister? Unless, oh, you actually believe what that old fool Dumbledore said, and think that the You-Know-Who is really resurrected?"

"Of course not, Dolores, what Dumbledore said is complete nonsense!"

Fudge jumped up immediately as if his foot had been stepped on. He stared at Umbridge with annoyance and guilt.

"I just think that this is one of our trump cards, right? We must make better use of its value. Before that, of course, I agree that strengthening the control over Dumbledore and Brian is something we must do."

"With all due respect, Minister—"

Umbridge's sagging face trembled.

"How should we strengthen our control over them? I'm sure you agree that they won't easily obey the Ministry of Magic's orders. Otherwise, Dumbledore wouldn't be spreading his theory of the resurrection of You-Know-Who everywhere, and Brian wouldn't agree to allow a large number of Aurors from the American Magical Congress to enter the country without authorization!"

"I have an idea, Dolores. In fact, I had it when Blaine agreed to Colehaug's request!"

Fudge stared at Umbridge intently.

"Like I said, to strengthen the control over Dumbledore and Braine, we must always know what they are doing and what they are planning. If they intend to seize the Ministry of Magic, what are their detailed plans? We need this intelligence, so -"

"so?"

"So we can go deep into their base camp, right?"

Fudge said in an excited voice,
"Someone needs to stay with Dumbledore and Brian, constantly observing their movements and understanding what they are doing. Hogwarts is their base, right? There must be someone from the Ministry of Magic there to collect intelligence for the Ministry and prevent them from spreading dangerous ideas to students. Brian's physical education class must be stopped first. The Ministry of Magic has been too indulgent towards him, allowing him to train the army in school!"

Send people to Hogwarts to keep an eye on Albus Dumbledore and Amosta Blaine. Umbridge frowned in thought.

This plan sounds feasible and not so ridiculous. It is rare that Fudge has such wisdom.

"So, under what pretext do you intend to send people to Hogwarts? I must remind you, Minister, if there is no legitimate reason, Dumbledore will surely stop it!"

Umbridge said with wide eyes.

"I have thought of a reason, a perfect reason. Dumbledore has no reason to stop me, but the key now is -"

Fudge turned up his nose in triumph and cast an expectant look at Umbridge.
"Who should I send to carry out this mission? I need someone who is absolutely loyal to the Ministry of Magic, who can withstand pressure and targeting, and who will never go along with Albus Dumbledore and Amos Towers Braine. There are not many such loyal people in the current Ministry of Magic. Of course, if this person completes the mission successfully, she will definitely receive an unexpected reward."
