Homecoming from Hogwarts

Chapter 967 The Deterrent Power of the Strongest Wizard

Midsummer is approaching. Even in the early morning, the sun's rays shining on the earth contain a lazy heat.

Remus had already left the house and went to the alchemy workshop, and Sirius also went to work at the Ministry of Magic. After leisurely eating breakfast, Amosta and Amelia said goodbye to Kreacher and walked out of the house.

"Similar to the American wizarding world, the main means of travel for wizards here in the UK are the Floo Network, Apparition, and broomsticks."

As he came down the steps, Amosta said,
"Of course, you can also choose the Knight Bus as a means of transportation, but the comfort level is terrible. If you can't adapt to the flying broom, then the Knight Bus is not a good choice for you."

A magical world that she had never been exposed to, and a life that was completely different from the past. Even the air was filled with a sense of freshness, just like the life when she had just graduated from Ilvermorny and joined the Magical Congress of the United States of America. Everything made Amelia feel expectant and curious.

"So how do we get to Diagon Alley now?"

Amelia jumped down two steps, her upturned face glowing in the bright sunshine.

"Through Apparition, the Leaky Cauldron is the passage connecting the wizarding world and the Muggle world. If you want to go to Diagon Alley, you have to pass through this pub.

Of course, if you know anyone in Diagon Alley, you can use the Floo Network, and then you can do that when you go to work in Remus' workshop -"

Amosta said, he raised his right hand, and Amelia immediately put her hand on it.

A hazy illusion quickly appeared before Amelia's eyes, and in an instant, she followed Amosta into a crowded Muggle street.

There was obviously magic in the space near where they landed, perhaps a interference spell or an expulsion spell, because the people nearby ignored her and Amosta who suddenly flashed out of the space, and Muggles always subconsciously avoided that small space when walking.

Looking around, on both sides of them were bookstores, record stores, hamburger shops and cinemas. Amelia carefully imprinted the surrounding environment in her mind so that she could use Apparition to get here by herself later.

After making sure she had the details down, Amelia's eyes fell on the bar in front of them.

The entrance to the bar was dingy and narrow, and Amelia was sure that even without magical protection, not many people would notice it.

“The Leaky Cauldron.”

Amelia read the words on a rotten panel with green scars hanging on the door, and frowned slightly.

"Is it just like the Blind Pig?"

"it's not true--"

Amosta walked in and led Amelia in, saying in a gentle tone,
"Generally speaking, the business done by the Leaky Cauldron is in compliance with the law. It is not like the Narrak, where the main purpose of running a bar is to resell information and provide shelter for wanted criminals. Of course, some guys who wander in the gray area do like to trade here. However, if it is a truly dangerous business, they will find another place-"

Amelia followed behind Amosta and listened carefully. When she crossed a certain boundary, an inexplicable force suddenly cut off the sunlight and the surroundings suddenly became dim.

Clang!

Before she had time to take in the environment of the bar, the sudden sound of collapse drew Amelia's attention to a smoky corner of the bar.

About a dozen wizards were divided into two groups and were confronting each other. One of the groups was wearing the black cloaks that Amosta was familiar with, which were used by wizards in the underworld.

As for the other side, the wizards did not conceal their appearance, and each of them exuded a bold aura. From their looks, they clearly had some Nordic characteristics.

It didn't take much to find out what caused the conflict between the two groups. Amostas glanced at the pieces of armor that were swept to the ground after the round table collapsed. They were shining with a bright silver luster and engraved with intricate and exquisite patterns. He knew that one of the parties had provided fakes, which were recognized by the other party. Amostas even knew which "master" in the underground world made these armors.

I'm afraid these 'newcomer' wizards in the underground world didn't expect that the other party had quite a keen eye and a violent temper.

The tense atmosphere attracted the attention of everyone in the bar, and no one noticed Amosta standing at the door, watching everything calmly. "Pay five times the money. Contract!"

The leading Nordic man had a pair of blue eyes. His rough face had fierce lines between his eyebrows. He spoke in a rough voice in broken English.

Several wizards in the underground world were silent.

The fivefold compensation for fake goods clause is indeed a clause in the contract, but there is something fishy about it.

A wizard in a black robe opened his cloak and pulled off the space bag tied to his belt.

Seeing this scene, the leading Nordic man mistakenly thought that the group of wizards who traded with them really intended to make compensation according to the contract. He and the people behind him looked a little relieved. But when they saw that the man who opened the space bag dumped a pile of silver armor on the ground, they were stunned at first, and then their cheeks turned red!

"Payment in gold galleons, not... rubbish!"

"You can take a closer look at the terms of the contract--" one of the wizards in the black cloak said indifferently in an obviously fake hoarse voice,

“We did not violate the covenant.”

Up to this point, the Nordic people no longer knew that they had been thoroughly fooled by these local scums. Their breathing was rapid, their eyes were red, and they looked like they were ready to start a fight if they disagreed with them for a moment.

The wizards in the underground world remained unmoved, but their slightly fluttering cloaks showed that they must be holding wands in their hands under the cloaks. A bloody fight seemed inevitable.

The bar's owner, hunchbacked old Tom, had already hidden his head behind the bar.

"What are you doing!"

Seeing that a conflict was about to happen, Amelia forgot that she was now in another country, and that she was no longer an employee of the magical government, nor an Auror. She frowned and shouted in a clear voice.

The sudden stop startled everyone, including the two groups confronting each other. All the wizards in the bar turned their eyes to the door, and Old Tom also poked his head out from behind the bar.

When they noticed that the one who stopped the conflict was not an Auror, but a young witch, many people couldn't help but laugh and cry, but -
When these people glanced at the young man standing next to the little witch, the sneers on their lips suddenly froze!
The bar was so noisy that you could hear a pin drop, as if there was an invisible force suppressing everyone from making any sound.

The sudden silence made Amelia a little overwhelmed. She blinked and turned her head blankly to look at Amosta.

But Amosta ignored the questioning in her eyes and remained calm, only his gaze shifted from the faces of the two confronting groups to the counterfeit products on the ground.

The underground wizard who had just dumped out all the garbage suddenly felt a palpitation. He bent down tremblingly and stuffed the garbage back into his space bag one by one.

The Nordic wizard who had just pushed the round table also silently bent down and lifted up the table.

Under the indifferent gaze of Amosta, the two groups of people who were about to fight walked out from the corner of the bar obediently. When passing by the stunned bar owner Tom, a Nordic wizard silently took out a few gold coins and placed them on the bar. He also nodded at old Tom, said "sorry" vaguely, then quickly caught up with the team, walked out of the back door of the Leaky Cauldron, and disappeared from people's sight.

puff-
At this moment, there was a strange atmosphere in the Leaky Cauldron, which was immersed in silence. Amelia suddenly covered her mouth and burst out laughing.
