Homecoming from Hogwarts

Chapter 979: Useless Occlumency

"Harry, Harry?"

A voice echoed in Harry's ears, sounding anxious and worried.

"What the hell is going on, brother?"

Another slightly confused voice also reached my ears.

"Is what Hermione guessed true? Your scar hurts again?"

Two voices kept appearing in Harry's mind alternately. They sounded very close to him, but also vague as if they were through a dream. At the same time, two figures were shaking desperately in front of his eyes. Harry blinked hard, trying to see them clearly. His hazy consciousness made him not know how much time had passed, but suddenly at some point, his keen senses returned to his body.

hiss--
With a sudden gasp, Harry jumped up from the ground nimbly. Then, like a drowning man who was about to suffocate finally emerging from the water, he bent over and gasped loudly.

"Are you all right, Harry? Are you back to your senses?"

Hermione suppressed her voice and shouted anxiously, while patting Harry's back hard. The force made Harry feel that Hermione wanted to break his spine. He was grateful for Hermione's attempt to help him, but in terms of the outcome, he would rather Hermione stood there quietly, at a loss, like Ron.

"I don't want to spend the rest of my life in a wheelchair, Hermione, so can you please stop filming?"

When Harry showed clear mind and the ability to speak, Hermione immediately stopped her actions. She covered her mouth with her hands and tears welled up in her eyes. It seemed that the accident that just happened to her really scared her enough.

But Harry had no time to comfort her. After his breathing became smoother, Harry subconsciously covered the scar on his forehead. Then, he found that in the past who knows how much time had passed, his originally dry hair had become wet, as if he had just washed his hair. From this, it can be inferred that his current complexion must be ugly and terrible.

"I saw him!"

Harry wiped off the sweat from his face and lifted his collar to let the breeze from the field blow into his collar.

"Who?"

Ron looked at him as if he had seen a ghost, and asked in a trembling voice.

"Voldemort!" Harry said simply, without any hesitation.

Then, after hearing this, Ron subconsciously took a step back. His face turned pale and he looked even more terrified, while Hermione was much calmer, as if she knew it.

"Just like last summer vacation, I saw Voldemort. This is not an illusion, it must be real. At that time, I saw Voldemort and Vitia Cliona kill an elderly Muggle in an old house. Later it was proved that this incident did happen, so this time it is also true!"

Fearing that Hermione and Ron might think he was having some ridiculous hallucinations because he was overly concerned about Voldemort's actions, Harry explained first.

"You mean you saw Voldemort killing again?" Ron bit his lips tightly, with unspeakable fear in his eyes.

"I"

Recalling the strange and unreasonable emotions that had arisen in his heart when the image of Voldemort just appeared before his eyes, Harry said with confusion and hesitation,

"He didn't kill anyone this time, but—"

Harry pursed his dry lips and tried to organize his words so that Hermione and Ron could understand.

"I saw a man whom I had never seen before, but he knelt before Voldemort and said something. Oh. I couldn't hear it clearly, but it seemed to be related to Professor Braine. He seemed to think that the man was not speaking clearly, so he got furious and ordered him to investigate. He was very nervous and scared. Oh, and I saw Lucius Malfoy there too!"

"Malfoy's father?" Hermione frowned slightly. "Where are they?"

Harry squinted his eyes. This time the scene was not as clear as the last time when he was dreaming. He couldn't see many things clearly.

"In a house. Oh, it looks very impressive."

"That's Malfoy Manor."

Ron said,
"My father told us that the Malfoys' house was a very luxurious manor."

It's about Professor Blaine.
Hermione pursed her lips. Professor Blaine passed by them a few minutes ago. Like Hagrid, he should have just returned to Hogwarts.

"Hermione, do you think Professor Brains did something that would scare Voldemort? Has the Daily Prophet reported any news recently?" Harry recalled the clip he had just seen and looked at Hermione expectantly.

"Even if there was, the Daily Prophet wouldn't say anything."

After thinking for a while, Hermione looked confused. "He won't be back in London for more than a day. What can he do?"

"Perhaps Hagrid would know."

Ron suddenly said,
"He and Professor Dumbledore just came back from Hagrid's hut. If he did anything remarkable again, Hagrid might know about it."

This was a reasonable inference, and besides, they were going to visit Hagrid anyway.

Harry couldn't wait to run to Hagrid's hut, wanting to get to the bottom of the matter and ask what the task Dumbledore had given him was. Ron followed him.

After hesitating for a moment whether to persuade Harry to tell Professor Blaine or Professor Dumbledore about this, Hermione finally suppressed the idea for the time being and ran up.

Two tall and thin figures slowly appeared from the air after the three little wizards ran away.

Dumbledore's eyes followed Harry's back until he jumped into Hagrid's hut. Then he looked at Amosta with a look full of worry.
"It's obvious that the mysterious connection between Harry and Tom is growing stronger—"

“This is something that was expected to happen.”

A few vertical lines also appeared between Amosta's eyebrows.

A lot of information was shared between the two men. They both understood why Harry could see what Voldemort was going through, and they also understood the harm this incident would cause to Harry.

"Do you think Occlumency would be able to help Harry resist this connection?"

Dumbledore's old face showed worry, an expression he rarely showed in front of others, and his clear and calm voice became a little hoarse.

Amosta raised his eyelids.
"I'm afraid not. You and I both know, Headmaster Dumbledore, that Occlumency is effective in resisting mental invasion and protecting one's mind, but the connection between Harry and Voldemort is more mysterious, a connection at the soul level. No one can really explain why the fragment of Voldemort's soul entangled in Harry's soul can allow him to see what the 'main soul' is experiencing."

Dumbledore fell silent, his drooping eyebrows and beard made him look a little depressed. And Amosta didn't say anything else, he was also lost in thought.

"I went to Gringotts this morning to help Amelia open the vault. Also, I thought that the Slytherin emblem that Newt got from the basilisk might be the key to Slytherin's vault, so I went to verify my guess."

Dumbledore, who was immersed in his worries about Harry, suddenly came to his senses and looked at Amosta in surprise.

"--My guess was correct, it is indeed the key to the vault belonging to Salazar Slytherin himself."

Amosta still frowned.

"This is a complicated matter. Anyway, I got some help from the vault that helped me improve my magical attainments. Oh, sorry, I can't show it to you. That thing has dissipated on its own, and I can't reproduce it for the time being."

"Tom knows about this?"

Many thoughts flashed through Dumbledore's blue eyes, but he temporarily suppressed his doubts and focused on what Amosita was saying.

"I ran into Theodore's father at Gringotts. He must have gone to secretly look for the goblin named Bogrod who led me there. I personally don't think he used any illegal means against Bogrod, otherwise Voldemort wouldn't have asked Old Nott to investigate Bogrod. Bogrod didn't know what kind of help I got from Salazar Slytherin's vault."

While speculating, Amosta said,

"I think. I think that Bogrod may have been coerced or bribed by old Nott. He told him some limited information. For example, I went underground and opened an ancient vault."

Amosta narrowed his eyes slightly, and his purple pupils shone brightly.
"But Harry said that Voldemort was nervous and scared. That's really interesting, isn't it, Headmaster Dumbledore?"

After a few seconds of silence, the wrinkles on Dumbledore's face relaxed, and a flash of joy flashed across his azure eyes.
"You're right. Tom is nervous and scared. Oh, this is indeed worth thinking about. It seems that we need to investigate this matter thoroughly."
