Chapter 127 Jason Hood
Chapter 127 Jason Hood
As they approached the highway, they came face to face with Hood and several sheriffs.
After both sides lowered their guns nervously, Hood saw Emmett's appearance and immediately asked:
"What's wrong with you?"
"I'm fine, I got hit"
Seeing Hood appear, Emmett breathed a sigh of relief as if seeing the backbone, and then said to Ethan:
"Ethan, you bring them to lead the way, I'm fine."
Ethan looked out, and he could already see the flashing lights of the police lights. He nodded and shook hands with several county policemen one by one.
Before he had time to exchange pleasantries, he led a few people inside and burrowed inside.
After walking a certain distance, Ethan noticed that the county policeman behind him was a few meters behind, and asked Hood in a low voice:
"How was the communication just now?"
Hood looked back, then said:
"His name is Jason Hood. He escaped from Portland this time. After he found out that his father was not there, he didn't say anything. He just wanted me to help him change his identity."
Ethan pushed aside the branches and continued to ask, "What is your plan?"
Some people in the United States have a strong sense of family, and some people don't take family affection seriously at all. If there is nothing to do, they usually don't walk around with each other at all.
It seems that this Jason Hood belongs to the latter category.
Ethan slowed down, not knowing what Hood's plan was. After all, this Jason Hood had no interest in them now, and a report could put Hood in jail.
Hood's eyes were a little dazed, and then he became firm again, "I live with this identity, and I owe his father a favor."
"It's up to you, you can assess the risk yourself."
"I understand that."
When they were searching in the woods, they also ran into Brock who came to support, and learned that the aborigines who went to the Amish gathering place to make trouble had already retreated for some reason.
He also met Proctor there, and after telling Proctor the news of Rebecca's attack, they returned together.
After twenty minutes, there was no new discovery, so Hood had to announce that he had given up searching.
Back on the curb, Emmett was sitting in the back of a police car, holding a gauze to the corner of his eye.
Ethan opened his hands, "Waterfa, hasn't the ambulance arrived yet?"
Emmett shook his head, "I don't know what's going on, Alma said that it has been notified, but the ambulance seems to be very busy today."
"Forget it, I'll take you there."
Without saying a word, Ethan pulled him into the car and drove to the hospital.
Come to the hospital and get Emmett settled.
Siobhan came face to face from the corridor. When she saw Ethan, she hurriedly asked:
"Why are you in the hospital, who is injured, is the search over?"
"Emmet was injured, but no one was found." Ethan immediately asked, "Can Rebecca provide some clues?"
He knew that Siobhan had sent Rebecca to the hospital, but he didn't know what was going on.
Siobhan shook his head, pulled out a notebook and handed it to him.
Ethan flipped through it, and there were only unclear, unremembered, and uncertain texts on it. He handed the book back to Siobhan in annoyance. After asking about the location, he walked towards the stairs.
Proctor was standing by the door of the ward with his hands folded across his chest. His relatives were being attacked one after another, and he couldn't help wondering if his enemies had come to him.
Noticing Ethan's gaze, he looked up.
"Mr. Proctor"
"It was you, thank you for saving Rebecca."
Ethan saw Rebecca lying on the hospital bed through the glass window, and said to Proctor:
"It's okay, I just met her, can I go in and have a chat with her?"
Proctor thought for a moment, then stepped aside.
Ethan pushed open the door, closed it, and walked to the hospital bed.
Rebecca's face was swollen, she opened her eyes, and saw that it was Ethan's eyes that lit up.
"Did you catch that man?"
"No, he escaped."
Ethan pondered for a while, "Why did you appear in that woods by yourself, why did someone suddenly attack you?"
Rebecca gritted her teeth in disappointment, then shook her head slowly.
Ethan glanced at Proctor standing outside, and said with a serious face:
"It's your younger brother who is missing now, you have to think about it."
After hesitating for a while, Rebecca said with difficulty:
"I understand, but I still can't figure it out."
"I made an appointment with a friend of Solomon's to meet in the woods, but I couldn't wait for his friend."
"While walking back, a masked man in black rushed out from the side of the road and attacked me."
After she finished speaking, she quickly grabbed Ethan's hand again.
"Please, you can't tell anyone else about this, especially the people in your police station. It's not easy to get that friend of Solomon to speak up."
"Could it be that friend of Solomon who killed you?" Ethan asked quickly in a low voice.
Rebecca shook her head. "She's just a little girl."
Ethan pointed to his clothes, "Tell me your friend's name, and I'll ask."
"No, absolutely not."
Rebecca waved her hand quickly, "You don't understand. She will be punished if she gets involved with this kind of thing. Even if you ask, she won't tell you anything."
"It's getting dark now, and you and I will find her early tomorrow morning."
"What about your injury?"
"It's not a big problem." Rebecca insisted.
Seeing that the evidence was right in front of him, but there was nothing he could do, Ethan felt that he didn't know what to say, so he nodded in agreement.
In the evening, Ethan came to Davis Bar.
He greeted Candy and looked to the corner, where Jason Hood was sitting alone drinking wine. Seeing Ethan looking over, he raised the bottle and signaled to Ethan.
Candy put half a glass of whiskey in front of him, took off his hat and said:
"Surely you already know what's going on?"
"know a little."
Ethan nodded, took a sip, and walked towards Jason Hood's table with the wine glass.
Jason Hood saw him coming, and said quickly:
"Sorry, someone is sitting here."
Ethan ignored him, pulled out the chair and sat down.
He slowly took out the cigarette, then turned on the lighter, and there was a crisp beeping sound, followed by flames.
"I met you, today at the police station, you are the town police, right?"
Seeing that the person sitting across from him ignored him, Jason asked fidgeting.
Ethan lit the cigarette, took a deep breath, and after exhaling the smoke, he picked up the wine glass and felt the collision of ice cubes and whiskey.
Jason was not talking at this time, and his eyes glanced at the candy standing behind the bar from time to time.
Candy nonchalantly picked up the cigar that was placed next to him and bit it to his mouth, continuing to wipe the wine glass with a towel.
Ethan held the filter tip, scratched his itchy scalp with his thumb, and then said:
"Can you tell me your story?"
Jason held the beer bottle with both hands and said nervously, "This officer, I'm just a tourist and I don't want to cause any trouble."
"correct answer."
Picking up his glass, Ethan continued meaningfully: "I'm a friend of Hood's. Now, please tell me your story again."
Jason turned his head to look at Candy. After Candy nodded, he gritted his teeth and said:
"I was working for some guys in Portland and something went wrong and I ended up here."
Ethan stared at him. "Who? What's the problem?"
"Just like you think, those gang members, I made a mistake in my work, and they want to settle accounts with me."
Jason lowered his eyelids and continued:
"You are Hood's friend, so you should know the next thing. I don't want to cause any trouble. I just want to change my identity and leave America."
