Chapter 14 Playing Billiards

After get off work, Ethan was bored at home, so he drove to Davis Bar.

As soon as he walked into the bar, he saw Hood sitting alone on the chair next to the bar, and the candy was constantly adding wine to his glass.

"Hi, Candy, long time no see."

Ethan greeted Candy and walked to sit next to Hood.

"Yeah, I haven't seen you for a while." Candy put the glass in front of Ethan and poured the wine.

"You know, there are too many things to be familiar with when you just go to work."

"You seem to be adjusting well."

"Thank you." After finishing his drink, Ethan knocked on the countertop to signal for more candies, while Hood next to him was still drinking in silence.

"Sheriff, didn't Gordon invite you to their house after the funeral? Why are you drinking here?"

"I went today and came back because I didn't feel well." Hood looked at the wine glass dully.

Ethan knew the reason for Hood's gloom, and the wife of District Attorney Gordon, Carly Hopewell, was his ex-girlfriend.

More than ten years ago, Carly's father Rabbit arranged for the two of them to steal the diamond. After the diamond was obtained, Hood led the pursuers and was caught on the way to escape, and Carly escaped by chance.

After being in prison for more than ten years, he found Carly's whereabouts through the channels of his friends after he came out.

That's right, I have been in prison for more than ten years.

Hood, who just came out not long ago, is not the main sheriff at all, just an imposter.

According to the clues provided by his friends, he came to Banshee Town, only to find that his girlfriend was married here and gave birth to two children, the eldest daughter Tifa was his own.

She wanted to let her girlfriend go with her, but she didn't want to, even if she had a daughter.

Carly also lied to him that the diamonds worth more than 1000 million that he stole back then were snatched away by gangsters. The woman changed her mind and lost all her money. She has been squatting for nothing for more than ten years.

Accompanied by Ethan, Hood drank even more urgently, and soon fell headfirst on the bar counter, falling asleep soundly.

Ethan walked to the jukebox with his wine glass and ordered the Beatles' Till There Was You. As the music sounded, there was a crisp sound of high heels stepping on the wooden floor behind him.

A woman, of course, or possibly a man who likes to wear high heels stops behind him.

Ethan turned his head, smiled happily, and handed the wine glass in his hand to the blonde beauty in front of him.

"Good evening, Rebecca."

"I haven't seen you for a few days." Rebecca leaned against the wall and took a sip of whiskey.

"I wanted to leave your contact information last time, but it's a pity that Mr. Bowman is here. Don't we need to pretend we don't know each other? Amish girl." Ethan winked at her.

After exchanging mobile phone numbers, the two went to the nearby pool table to play.

Rebecca held the club, picked up a piece of chocolate, and carefully polished the tip of the gun with the chocolate while looking at Ethan.

She turned around, leaned over the pool table, and with a wave of her arm, the billiard balls scattered away.

Ethan stood behind Rebecca with a club in his hand, looking at the round curve, he felt that the whiskey he just drank had a bit of stamina, and his belly was hot.

When he was playing instead, Ethan held the cue stick, aimed at the white ball, gestured for an angle, and poked it hard. He accidentally knocked the white ball out of the table. The white ball rolled all the way, along the small door next to it, and fell into the cellar.

Hearing the white ball rolling and hitting the stairs all the way down, Ethan put down the cue and spread his hands helplessly.

So accompanied by Rebecca's kindness, the two went to the cellar to search for a long time before finding the white ball.

The next morning, Ethan was squatting on a crossroad. Today he was in a good mood and took the initiative to turn on the police lights. As long as there are passing drivers, the flashing lights can be seen from a distance.

In this case, if there is still a head iron, if you want to speed or run a red light, he doesn't mind moving his body.

After watching for two hours, Ethan received a radio notification from Alma that someone in the Fenglin community called the police and asked him to go and check.

Drive to Fenglin Community, which is a typical Caucasian community with patchwork of detached villas and neatly manicured lawns at the entrance.

After getting out of the car and coming to the reporter's address, Ethan rang the doorbell across the lawn.

After a while, the door opened a crack, and seeing Ethan in uniform, the red-haired woman opened the door with confidence.

"Ms. Kendall, I'm Ethan, may I ask what happened?" Ethan, the informant, met Reid Schumacher's funeral, the wife of Mayor Dan Kendall.

"Hello, officer, you can just call me Jenny, I just saw someone enter the backyard of Michelle's family next door, Michelle's family has gone to Hawaii for vacation, I don't feel right, so call the police, please You go and have a look."

Jenny was wearing a white shirt and black-rimmed glasses, and said to Ethan in a panic with her arms crossed.

"Okay, you go back to the house first, I'll go over and check."

After Jenny closed the door, Ethan pulled out the Glock and walked towards the next house.

He walked to the window next to the front door and took a look inside. There was no movement, and then he turned to the side. In the distance, a man with a peaked cap on his head was jumping out of the backyard wall in a panic.

"Banshee Town Police Station, hold still."

Ethan yelled loudly, and the man ran away immediately when he heard the sound, and a silver candlestick fell out of his pocket.

The distance was too far, and Ethan didn't choose to shoot. He spread his long legs and chased after him, while calling for support.

The man in the peaked cap saw Ethan getting closer and closer, and put his hand into his trouser pocket.

When Ethan saw him stretching out his hand, the alarm went off in his heart, and he threw himself sideways.

There was a "bang" gunshot, but I didn't know where the bullet flew.

"There's fire, there's fire, who's around, call for backup."

Ethan rolled over and got up, pressed the radio and shouted for a while, then continued to chase forward.

"I'm nearby, coming from the east of Fenglin Community." Emmett's voice sounded.

"The suspect was wearing jeans, a baseball jacket and a peaked cap. He is about 30 years old and Caucasian."

"Okay, received, I will go around and intercept him."

After chasing one more street, Ethan saw Emmett's police car coming from the opposite side, and was forced to run back.

"Be careful of crossfire." Ethan shouted into the radio, and then fired several shots at the peaked cap.

Although because of the distance, there was no hit rate to speak of, but he was successfully pushed into a corner.

The police car stopped 20 meters away from the corner. Emmett went around and opened the trunk to take out the Remington M870. Ethan also bent over and ran over, opening the passenger door as a cover.

"Banshee Town Police Station, you are already surrounded, throw your gun out immediately." As soon as he finished speaking, Emmett fired into the corner unceremoniously.

With a bang, the bricks on the wall were smashed into pieces by Remington.

"I surrender, don't shoot, I will surrender right away." Amidst the panicked shouts, a black pistol slipped out from the corner of the wall.

Ethan didn't rush forward to pick up the pistol. Who knows how many pistols he had on his peaked cap. He held up the Glock and shouted sharply:
"Climb out with your hands on the ground, and don't let me see you making any dangerous moves."
