Chapter 541 Clumsy Lies
They were all familiar with the name Lonny Rodiger.

Because of Horstead's relationship, they all knew what this person was suspected of doing.

Now that Lonnie is dead, Irene and Orinski suddenly have a bad feeling.

"not?"

Orlinsky shut his mouth abruptly halfway through his words.

He didn't want to say that guess.

"Fack!" Irene thumped the table fiercely: "When I went to find Pierce yesterday, Horstead and I arrived at a place halfway."

"He got out of the car by himself and yelled angrily at the people in the house."

"You should stop him." Orinski picked up the twist candy and threw it into the trash can, scratching his head and said, "I hope he doesn't do stupid things."

"No." Irene nodded firmly: "I believe him."

"He just wanted to stop Lonnie from committing a crime and bring that pedophile to justice."

In this case, guessing is useless.

The possibility of a crime of passion cannot be ruled out. When emotions are stimulated, ordinary people can do some incredible things.

According to the size of Lonnie seen today, he is like a chicken in front of Horstead.

If Horstead was going to do something, there was no chance of Lonnie surviving.

"okay."

Ethan put down the bag of potato chips: "Maybe, we are overthinking all this."

"A scum like Lonnie, I guess many people want to kill him."

"Yeah, you're right."

Irene nodded quickly, and when she picked up the light bag of potato chips, her face suddenly collapsed:
"I've only had a few slices, you bastard."

At this moment, a black bald man wearing a white shirt and a golden badge on his chest came up.

Ethan stood up: "Sir."

"Sir."

"Chief."

Irene and Orinski also stood up one after another, saying hello to the visitors.

Walking into the Chase Room was Perry, the chief of the 21st Bureau. He was black, bald, and had a few moles on his eye bags.

He nodded to everyone, and walked into Hank's office with a folder.

Director Perry usually has nothing to do and will not set foot in the intelligence team.

Looking at the folder in his hand, and thinking about what they just learned, the hearts of the three of them sank.

"No."

Irene fell down on the chair, frowned and said, "Don't do anything stupid."

Horstead was her partner, and she really didn't know what to do if something happened.

"Yo~"

Several people looked nervously at the sheriff's office. Director Perry was waving something in his hand and whispering something to Hank.

At this moment, Horstead walked up to the second floor excitedly:

"Did you watch the Eagles game last night?"

He took off his coat and threw it on the table: "That Hail Mary is really crazy."

"Jay."

Erin got up quickly, wanting to ask something.

"What happened to you?"

Horsted found that the three people present looked at him nervously, and spread their hands with a smile:

"Don't tell me who and what happened."

"Horstead."

While speaking, the door of the sheriff's office opened, and Hank stood at the door, waving at him.

Commissioner Perry sat on his desk, folded his arms, and looked out.

Seeing this situation, Irene couldn't ask any more questions.

Horsted pursed his lips, moved his feet, and walked into the sheriff's office.

The moment the door closed, Irene sat back in a hurry, opened the drawer, and frantically rummaged through it.

"Chief."

After closing the door, Horstead nodded at Perry.

"Ah."

Perry stood up and pointed to the chair next to him: "Please sit down."

The chief and the sheriff stood together and looked at him seriously. Horsted was a little flustered.

He put his hands on his waist and swallowed:
"No, I'll just stand."

"Where were you after get off work last night?" Perry cut to the chase, looking into Horstead's eyes.

"At home, what's the matter?"

Horsted held the hand on his waist and looked at Hank next to him.

The latter said nothing, just looked at himself in disappointment.

This move of his made Horstead feel uneasy.

"so."

Commissioner Perry continued to ask: "Are you saying that you haven't been out since you got home last night?"

"That's right." He shifted his gaze to Director Perry:

"I watched the Eagles game at home last night, watched a movie afterward, until midnight, and then I rested."

Hank tightened his cheeks, his face ugly.

Director Perry nodded slowly, and reached out to pick up a few photos on the table.

"This was captured on traffic cameras last night. The car is registered to and driven by Lonnie Rodiger."

Perry tossed the first photo aside and brought up the second.

Horsted's eyes became flustered when he saw the photo.

"This is you." Chief Perry tapped his fingers on the photo, "It's just two cars away from Lonnie."

"Please explain, what's going on here?"

"All right!"

The lie was exposed on the spot, and Horstead scratched his face in embarrassment:
"So I went out last night to get some beer and just happened to drive in the back of a pedophile."

"It's no big deal."

"So, the pedophile you mentioned was killed?" Commissioner Perry put down the photo and asked seriously:
"He died last night, do you have anything to say?"

"what?"

Horstead asked in shock, "Are you serious?"

"Someone strangled him with a rope." Hank finally spoke:
"Now I advise you to remain silent."

"I hope you can have a better alibi." Perry glanced at Hank with dissatisfaction, and continued to say to Horsted:
"Not some crap about watching a football game at home alone."

"You were officially suspended until the investigation was clear." Hank said blankly:

"Now, hand over your guns and badges."

Horsted obviously hadn't digested what he just heard, and his expression looked extremely shocked.

Looking at Hank's outstretched palm, he took off the pistol and police badge blankly.

"Jay Horstead."

Director Perry issued a notice: "Please keep your mobile phone unblocked, and someone from the Ministry of Internal Affairs will talk to you as soon as possible."

"You mean to interrogate me?"

Horstead finally came back to his senses, and he said angrily, "I'm right?"

"You know the rules." Chief Perry shook his head.

Looking at the two photos on the desktop, Horsted knew that he couldn't argue with anything now.

Without saying a word, he directly opened the door and strode out of the sheriff's office, grabbing his coat and going downstairs.

"Jay." Irene hurriedly chased after her.

"Can you believe it?"

He roared emotionally: "All I did was to stop that pervert."

"But now, I turned out to be a murder suspect?"

"You need to calm down." Irene pushed the business card into Horstead's hand vigorously:
"Here, this is the most powerful police union representative I've ever seen."

"You call him immediately, and don't say a word before that."

Looking at the business card in his hand, Horstead put on his coat excitedly, and walked downstairs angrily.

When he came to the garage, he went straight to the technical room:

"Hey, Gene, do some research for me."

"impossible."

Gene didn't even look up: "As a suspect in the murder case, it's against the law for you to do so."

"Come on, buddy, you know that too?"

Horstead knocked on the table excitedly: "I didn't do it, do me a favor, at least I need to know what happened."
