Chapter 8 Killed
The moment they heard the gunshots, many guests who came to the banquet ran into the house in panic.

Seeing this, Ethan quickly lifted the corner of his clothes and pulled out the Glock.

He waved to the guests in the house to hide, and walked quickly to the backyard. As soon as he walked out of the house, he saw Cole Moody not far from him, holding a revolver and aiming at Proctor on the opposite side of the swimming pool.

"Bang" was another gunshot. The gun went sideways, and the dishes on the table next to Proctor were blown apart and scattered all over the floor.

Proctor remained motionless, looking at Cole with a cold face.

Cole drunkenly shouted "Damn German bumpkin, you knocked out my teeth, today I want your life."

Cole's face was covered with bruises, most of the teeth in his mouth were missing, and when he spoke, saliva splashed out of his mouth from time to time.

"Cole, I warn you, put the gun down immediately."

Ethan stepped forward, pointed his gun at Cole, and issued a warning.

"Fayu" Cole saw Ethan appearing from the side, and quickly turned his gun.

Ethan's heart was full of alarm bells, and he pulled the trigger without hesitation, "Bang bang bang"

As the gunfire burst out, Cole's body exploded with dense blood.

After the magazine was emptied, Ethan stopped snapping his fingers. Cole shook his body and fell into the swimming pool with a "plop". The moment he fell into the water, a huge blood-colored flower spread out from the swimming pool.

At this moment, Hood, who was covered in blood, ran over staggeringly from behind with a gun.

It wasn't until seeing Cole, who had been beaten into a hornet's nest, floating in the swimming pool, that Hood resentfully spit on the ground and put the gun away.

Brock, Emmett, Siobhan and others never thought that there would be a shooting incident on this occasion, and they were not carrying firearms. Seeing that Cole had been dealt with, they rushed out to maintain order at the scene.

The guests who were hiding in every corner of the backyard saw that the situation had calmed down, they didn't want to get into trouble, and left the scene one after another.

"Sheriff, are you okay?"

Brock walked over to Hood and helped him examine the wound on his head.

"Small problem, I went to the parking lot to get something and was attacked by Cole." Hood wiped the blood on his face.

"Boss, an ambulance has been called."

"Ethan, it's all right, put the gun away."

Emmett pressed his hands down, signaling Ethan to relax, and Ethan came back to his senses and put the gun back into the holster.

With the arrival of the ambulance, Hood let him go back after Ethan cooperated and recorded the statement.

When things were clear, he didn't ask Ethan to use the mating gun. If he wanted to avenge Cole, Ethan was disarmed and could only sit and wait.

However, this incident also reminded Ethan that he should get a few more guns for self-defense as soon as possible. Anyway, there is room for the system, so there is no need to worry about carrying problems.

After returning home, Ethan took advantage of the darkness and jumped into the icy lake for a swim. After the discomfort from the first murder disappeared, he stepped on the water and exhaled the system.

No surprises, no changes to the system, new tasks, new skill points, nothing.

Ethan turned off the system helplessly, not knowing when a new task would be triggered.

At this moment, the sound of vehicles sounded, and two beams of light shot from outside.

Ethan quickly swam to the small pier, hid behind a big tree, and took out the Glock from the space.

As long as he is not wearing a holster, he always puts the gun in the space for easy access at any time.

I saw a Rolls Royce slowly parked in front of the house, and Proctor got out of the car, walked up the porch and knocked on the door.

"Don't knock, I'm here."

Ethan put the gun back into the space, and walked out from behind the tree empty-handed.

Proctor looked over in surprise, but Ethan didn't pay attention, and went to the pier naked to pick up his clothes and put them on.

Throwing the shoes in his hand to the door, Ethan asked Proctor, "Mr. Proctor, what's the matter for coming here so late?"

"Kobe steak, my best product." Proctor smiled and handed over something wrapped in oiled paper.

"Thank you, let's talk when you come in." Ethan took the steak, opened the door, and glanced at the driver standing next to the Rolls-Royce.

The driver was also wearing a suit and a small bow tie. He stood meticulously by the car door. Seeing Ethan looking over, he raised his glasses with his finger and smiled at Ethan.

"This is my assistant, Borden." Proctor noticed Ethan's gaze. "Just let him wait outside, it doesn't matter."

Coming to the living room, after putting the steak in the refrigerator, Ethan took out a bottle of bourbon from the wine cabinet.

"Do you want to come a little bit?"

"Of course, thank you."

Ethan took two glasses, sat on the single sofa, put the glasses on the table, unscrewed the whiskey, and poured half a glass of wine into the glasses respectively.

Proctor stopped visiting the living room, walked to the sofa opposite Ethan and sat down.

"I'm here tonight to thank you, thank you for saving my life." Proctor raised his glass.

"You're welcome, I'm just doing my job well."

Ethan and Proctor clinked their cups and drank them down in one gulp.

He liked to drink in his previous life, but his drinking capacity was extremely poor. Now that his physical condition has improved, his drinking capacity is extremely good, and he will drink some by himself when he has nothing to do.

When Proctor saw Ethan drinking so much, the wine glass brought to his mouth paused.

"It's okay, you drink slowly."

Ethan didn't like to force others to drink, he continued to pour the yellow-brown liquor into his glass nonchalantly.

Unexpectedly, Proctor was also unambiguous, and drank the wine in the glass in one gulp.

Ethan raised his eyebrows, and threw Proctor a cigarette to suppress his alcohol.

"Anyway, I owe you a favor."

Ethan smoked a cigarette and didn't speak.

"I'm sure someone else has mentioned my name to you. For some reason, many people in our town would love to see me go down, including our young mayor."

"Why do you think so?" Ethan asked casually.

"Some people find my business activities aggressive, and I don't deny that." Proctor paused and continued, "I hope it won't affect your opinion of me."

"I don't think you should care what I think of you." Ethan tapped the armrest lightly with his fingers.

"You're right, to be honest I don't care what anyone thinks of me, I just hope we don't go down the road of confrontation."

"After all, I have a good relationship with your father, you know? That thing was given to your father by me."

Ethan followed Proctor's line of sight to look at the deer head hanging above the fireplace, which he did not expect.

"Having said that, I came here to remind you to be careful of the Moody brothers. Although they are all idiots, I have to admit that they are still very united."

"You killed Cole, they will definitely seek revenge on you."

Ethan was drinking quietly by himself, and Proctor had already left.

Brother Moody's revenge was within his expectation, he had to find a way, and he couldn't sit still.
