Chapter 211 The debate about Zen, a shocking plan

Xiuxin tried to unite with Xiuzhu, which was naturally expected by Chen Kuang.

With Chen Kuang's current reputation in the Pure Land, the Zen discussion between him and Xiuzhu on the cultivation of mind nature will soon spread throughout the Jialan Temple.

Naturally, it will reach Xiu Xin’s ears.

The different views between the two people were also deliberately caused by Chen Kuang... However, in fact, the person who debated with him that day was not the evil second personality, but Xiuzhu himself.

This young monk's understanding and wisdom can really be called the innate Buddha nature. Chen Kuang originally wanted to use the verses between Shenxiu and Huineng to shock the monks of Jialan Temple after discussing with the second personality, and at the same time complete his own the goal of.

Unexpectedly, with just a little guidance from Chen Kuang, Xiuzhu immediately came up with a similar point of view on his own.

This saved Chen Kuang a lot of effort.

The body is a bodhi tree, and the heart is like a mirror stand.Wipe it frequently to avoid dust.

No Bodhi tree, nor stand mirror.Originally there was nothing, but there was dust everywhere.

These two sentences were said by eminent monks. Chen Kuang did not think there was any right or wrong between the two, but the latter's realm was obviously much higher, and it was already divided into Hinayana and Mahayana.

The former is only for self-cultivation, while the latter has regarded itself as nothing, and has no barriers to all things in nature, and even merges into one. This is a truly great compassion and compassion.

However, in Cangyuan, the pure land today does not have such subdivisions.

Because there really is a Buddha in this world, and it is really possible to become a Buddha...

Therefore, the philosophy of most monks is that they must first complete their own spiritual practice and possess great supernatural powers and great wisdom before they can then save all sentient beings.

In fact, it is difficult to distinguish between these two sentences.

Chen Kuang's purpose was not to become famous through this - he was famous enough for becoming a disciple of Buddhism through such a high-profile way.

His real purpose is to make Xiu Xin realize that he and the three demons are in the same group.

And at the same time, he hinted at the thoughts of these three demons.

Chen Kuang was brought back by the strong platform of the three great Zen masters. His thoughts, to a large extent, can represent what the three great Zen masters are thinking at the moment.

What's more, after the Zen discussion that day, everyone in Jialan Temple knew that the three great Zen masters admired Chen Kuang's views very much, but reprimanded Xiuzhu for being too idealistic, egotistical and arrogant.

But Xiuxin, as a disciple of Buddha, naturally understood the true meaning immediately.

What Chen Kuang explained was actually what happened in the Pure Land during this period of time.

What is the purpose of suddenly holding a seven-day orgy of feasting to liberate monks from worldly thoughts?
It is certainly not the case that the three great Zen masters openly took the lead and wanted to break the rules, causing the monks to break their precepts and disrupt their Buddhist minds!

why?
Chen Kuang said in this Zen discussion that you must go through the world of mortals to refine your heart and complete the cleansing of your soul in order to advance your realm to a higher level!
When Chen Kuang was discussing Zen at that time, he still used the example of lion heart.

You see, the lion-hearted Buddha, the Xuanxuan realm, and the semi-sage who made the final move, his understanding is high enough, right? Is the realm strong enough?

As a result, when he entered the mortal world, he did not die at the hands of a master, but was broken by a two-year-old child.

What a sobering example.

Lion Heart has been cultivating in the Pure Land since he was a child, and underestimated the ugliness and turbidity of the human heart in the world of the outside world, which led to tragedy.

Nowadays, the Pure Land is closed most of the time and isolated from the outside world. Although all the monks are bathed in the pure Buddha's light, they have the deepest understanding of Buddhism.

But if you have never entered the world of mortals, you cannot have empathy with all sentient beings. How can you save all sentient beings?
Once you come into contact with the world of mortals, you may not be the first to be polluted.

Therefore, the three great Zen masters, who have seen this, decided to conduct a test of "refining the mind in the world of mortals" to the Pure Land disciples. Now these seven days of vegetarian feast are just a small test.

Those monks who broke the precepts afterwards were actually not sincere in their devotion to the Buddha and lacked their character. Therefore, they were defeated by this small test and immediately became captives of desire.

This just shows that the great Zen master’s actions are correct and full of wisdom!
The three great Zen masters naturally accepted this explanation.

For a time, the monks who had already aroused some dissatisfaction and suspicion suddenly realized and understood the great Zen master's good intentions.

It turns out that the great Zen master is testing us!
However, with Xiu Xin's intelligence, how could he not know the danger contained in this.

If this is just the beginning... then the entire Pure Land will only become more and more indulgent, and this will happen with the connivance of the great Zen master.

This is a terrible thing.

It is euphemistically called a test, but if there are no external rules to restrain those monks who have not yet perfected their practice, it will definitely turn into a disaster in the end.

The law is the law.

Self-restraint and the discipline of desires are exactly what Buddhism needs to do. Practice requires not only inner yearning, but also external guidance.

Once left unchecked, the consequences will be disastrous.

Even after entering the mortal world, there are still secular rules that restrict the behavior of wandering monks.

But the Pure Land is different.

The Pure Land is a place with few secular rules, and all restrictions are only the word Dharma.

Now, once you do something that goes against the Dharma, it means everything is out of control.

Xiuxin thinks there is no reason for the three great Zen masters not to know this, but why do they still do it?
Infinite doubt naturally arose in his heart.

This……

This is simply shaking the foundation of the entire Pure Land!
That's why Xiuxin was so anxious to find Xiuzhu, a person who had ideas that coincided with his but completely different from those of Chen Kuang and the great Zen master, to form an alliance with him.

After Xiuzhu heard Xiuxin's thoughts, he nodded and said with a smile:
"That's it, I understand."

Xiu Xin said quickly: "Junior Brother Xiuzhu, you are the one with the deepest wisdom in the past hundred years, so you can naturally understand the horror of this. Now that things have happened, the only ones who can oppose the three great Zen masters are you and me."

Xiuzhu nodded again: "I know, senior brother, what are you going to do?"

Xiu Xin pursed her lips and seemed to have made up her mind, saying:

"Let's go to the great Zen master and tell them that this is absolutely not feasible!"

Xiuzhu stared at him for a while, then shook his head: "No."

Xiuxin was stunned and said: "Junior brother, you don't dare? It doesn't matter. When the time comes, I will say it was my idea. Needless to say, the great Zen master has always doted on you and will definitely not blame you..."

"I mean."

Xiuzhu smiled and said: "How can you and I persuade three great Zen masters with profound Buddhist teachings? If they want to practice Buddhism, how can we do it alone?"

Xiuxin suddenly had an ominous premonition: "What do you mean?"

Xiuzhu said leisurely: "If the three great Zen masters suddenly pass away, the Pure Land will naturally be decided by you and me."
