Li Shimin became interested and said: "Master Xuanzang, who taught the Dharma at the Water and Land Conference, can be called a virtuous monk? Can he stand up to your Buddhist treasure?"

Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva folded his palms together and nodded: "I can bear it, I can bear it."

When Xuanzang heard the words, he folded his palms together to thank Guanyin Bodhisattva. Guanyin Bodhisattva smiled and nodded, and suddenly asked: "Master, I have listened to your lectures for several days, and they are all Hinayana Buddhism. Do you understand Mahayana Buddhism?"

Xuanzang was quite surprised: "What is Mahayana Buddhism?"

Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva said: "The Hinayana Dharma can't save the dead from ascending to heaven. I have the Tripitaka of Mahayana Dharma, which can save the dead from suffering, live without damage to the body, untie the knots of injustice, and eliminate the disasters of innocence."

Xuanzang was overjoyed: "I ask the Master for guidance."

Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva said: "This Mahayana Dharma can only be found in the Daleiyin Temple of the Western Heaven where I Buddha Tathagata is. It is a full hundred and eight thousand miles away from here."

Upon hearing this, Li Shimin asked, "Does the master understand Mahayana Buddhism?"

Guanyin Bodhisattva nodded: "I understand."

Li Shimin said: "Please ask the master to go to the high platform of the Water and Land Conference to teach the Dharma, so as to save the souls of the dead and make the people more wise."

Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva heard the words, led Mu Zha and walked out of the hall. When he came outside the hall, he stepped on the auspicious cloud until it reached the top of the cloud, showing his true colors, and said:

"Mahayana Buddhists need to be sincere and kind, and they have to travel thousands of miles to the Buddha to impress my Buddha before they can get it. The number of days is so long, why do you need to ask for more?"
