"Then, why did you fake your death and hide in the Weasley family for twelve years in disguise?" Ou Mengmeng nodded and asked the second question.

"I... I'm afraid of the Death Eaters' revenge. Yes, I'm afraid they will take revenge on me!" Pettigrew was a very short man, not much taller than Harry and Hermione. His sparse, dull hair was messy and there was a large bald spot on top. He looked wrinkled, like a fat man who had lost a lot of weight in a short period of time; his skin was dirty, almost like mottled fur, and his pointed nose and watery green eyes had some mouse features. He glanced at everyone, breathing rapidly, and tried to grab the bars of the cage, but this was a magic cage and there was no place for him to put his hands.

"Hello, Peter," Lupin said cheerfully, as if mice often turned into old classmates in front of him. "Long time no see."

"Sirius... Remus..." Peter Pettigrew's voice was shrill, and he glanced at Ou Mengmeng again, "My friend... my old friend..."

"Remus," Pettigrew said quickly, beads of sweat on his pale face, and he hurriedly confirmed with Lupin, "You don't believe him...? He wants to kill me, Remus..."

"That's what we heard," said Lupin, his voice becoming colder. "I want to clear up a little or two with you, Peter, if you'd like -"

"He's here to kill me again!" Peter suddenly screamed, pointing at Blake.

Everyone inevitably saw that he used his middle finger this time, because he has no index finger. So, did he really cut off his finger to survive?
"He killed Lily and James, and now he's trying to kill me... You have to save me, Remus..." Pettigrew was still accusing.

Blake finally calmed down, his face looked more like a skull, and his unfathomable eyes stared at Pettigrew through the bars.

Ou Mengmeng removed his silencing spell and stopped talking. After all, she was a child, and some things could be better solved by the three old friends.

"No one will kill you until we figure out some things." Lupin stared at the location of the severed finger, then retracted his gaze and said lightly.

"Find out?" Pettigrew screamed, and looked around in panic, but in front of him was a cage with mesh that could change size. His mouse claws couldn't get in. He slapped the cage in anger, "I knew he would come to find me! I knew he would come back! I've been waiting for twelve years!"

"Did you know that Sirius would escape from Azkaban?" Lupin frowned. "No one has ever done it before."

"He has dark powers beyond our wildest dreams!" Pettigrew screamed. "How else could he have escaped? I guess He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named gave him some tips!"

Black laughed, a terrible, joyless laugh that filled the room. "Voldemort? Taught me a few tricks?"

Pettigrew flinched, as if Blake would reach through the bars and crack him a whip. "Why, are you frightened at the sound of your old master's name?" said Blake. "That's understandable, Peter. His people aren't too happy with you, are they?"

"I don't know—what are you talking about, Sirius—" Pettigrew muttered, his breathing becoming more rapid and his face now covered in sweat.

"You didn't lie just now. You weren't hiding from me for the past twelve years," Black said, "but from Voldemort's lackeys! I heard some things in Azkaban. Peter... they all thought you were dead, otherwise they would have asked you to confess... I heard them shouting all kinds of things in their dreams, as if they thought that the liar had betrayed them. Voldemort went to the Potters' house according to your information... Voldemort was defeated there. Not all of Voldemort's subordinates went to Azkaban, right? There are still many outside, waiting for the opportunity, pretending to have reformed... If they knew you were still alive, Peter--"

"I don't know... what are you talking about..." Pettigrew said again, his voice even sharper. He wiped his face with his sleeve and looked up at Lupin. "You don't believe this - this crazy talk, Remus -"

"I must admit, Peter, I cannot fathom why a clean man would be willing to be a rat for twelve years," said Lupin impartially.

This was the second question that "Little Penny" had asked. She was a perceptive child and obviously didn't want to waste time. However, she probably didn't want to embarrass the adults, so she didn't rush to ask.

"Innocent, but scared!" Pettigrew screamed, pointing his finger at Black beside him, "If Voldemort's men are looking for me, it's because I sent their most capable general to Azkaban - the spy, Sirius Black!"

Blake's face was twisted, but now he didn't want to be angry. Rather, he felt that this cage was very good. He believed that as long as the facts were clarified, the girl who looked like Eve would definitely remove the middle bar and let him and this old friend love each other.

"Me, Voldemort's spy? When have I ever flattered anyone stronger and more powerful than me? And you - I don't understand why I didn't see that you were a spy from the beginning. You always like powerful friends so that you can get their care, right? It used to be us... me and Remus... and James..."

"Me, a spy? You must be crazy... It's not true... I don't know how you can say that-" Pettigrew wiped his face again, he was almost out of breath. But he still argued, he knew that he must not admit it, so that even if he went to court, he would still have a chance of survival.

"Lily and James took my advice in making you the Secret-Keeper," Black gritted his teeth, and his tone was so fierce that Pettigrew took a step back. "I thought it was a good plan... a substitution... Voldemort would definitely come for me, but I didn't think they would use a weakling like you... You told Voldemort that you could give him the Potters. That must have been the proudest moment of your despicable life."

Pettigrew was mumbling incoherently, and Ou Mengmeng heard words like "ridiculous" and "lunatic", but she couldn't help but notice Pettigrew's dusty face and his eyes that were glancing around, looking for a chance to escape.

She wanted to find a chair to sit down! Can these three people talk about something serious? There is a difference between interrogation and reminiscing!

Hermione was watching the show and it was hard to describe it. Now she wondered if the foursome were able to get together because of their lack of intelligence but friendship. They all had similar brains, so they could become friends. Of course, it was obvious that Pettigrew was short, but his IQ was much higher than the other two. For so long, he never admitted what he had done. Moreover, he kept emphasizing that Sirius was the spy and Voldemort's right-hand man. It was amazing! (End of this chapter)
