There are also ascetics who fill their hair with soil and then plant rice on their hair, letting the rice roots flow down through the pores of their scalp and absorb their own body juices to grow. In short, there are endless various strange ascetics in India.

However, most ascetics generally choose to practice by walking for long periods of time every day, walking all over India on foot.

Siddhartha initially chose to become an ascetic monk and tried to measure India with his feet, so he traveled all over India and saw the lives of most of the untouchables in India. Finally, he had a great enlightenment under the Bodhi tree and realized the Buddhist doctrine of equality of all beings from the teachings of Indian Brahma religion and became the founder of Buddhism.

So in fact, this Siddhartha is Many Treasures Tathagata. After he converted to Western religion in 1000 BC, he absorbed the ideas of Amitabha Buddha within the Western religion, and then, with the deliberate promotion of the Western religion, he created the teachings of Buddhism.

In 600 BC, Many Treasures Tathagata was reincarnated as Siddhartha, and then promoted his Buddhist teachings in India, which eventually gave birth to Buddhism, one of the most important branches of Western religion, and which eventually existed independently of Western religion.

So Western religion is actually two religions, one is Hinduism and the other is Buddhism. The saint behind Hinduism is Cundi, and the saint behind Buddhism is Amitabha.

And those things in Buddhism that sound very fancy, such as bhikkhu, kalayana, asura, the six realms of reincarnation, Indra, Mara, etc., are actually all the names of various gods and doctrines in Indian Brahma religion. Because Buddhism developed directly from Indian Brahma religion, these names have also become part of Buddhism.

Once a Buddhist becomes depressed, he can easily become a Hindu, and similarly a Hindu can also become a Buddhist. After all, both sides are one family.

"But if everything corresponds to the real history, then you, the Buddha of the West, are in such a hurry to organize a Journey to the West, is it because your Buddhism has really lost its place in the West?" In fact, it is written very clearly in Tang Monk's Journey to the West. When Tang Monk arrived in India, those once famous Buddhist holy sites had basically all turned into ruins. Only a few important Buddhist sites such as Nalanda Temple remained. Buddhism in other places had already decayed.

In history, Buddhism also entered its final period of decline during this period. Originally, Buddhism wanted to make a comeback with the help of King Harsha, but King Harsha died early and his descendants were unable to help him. Eventually, Buddhism, which had placed all its hopes on King Harsha, was completely ruined. A few hundred years later, it was completely wiped out by the Indian Brahma religion, and the entire Buddhism was basically extinct in the place where it originated.

From this, we can see how important it was for Tang Sanzang to transfer the Buddhist scriptures to China. If Tang Xuanzang had not traveled to the West and preserved all the Buddhist scriptures in India, it is not certain whether Buddhism could survive to this day. In any case, most of the Buddhist scriptures would have completely disappeared, and Buddhism would have gone from being a major religion to a small sect.

Therefore, the Journey to the West that Lingshan painstakingly arranged was not to expand territory but to save Lingshan's life, and to transfer the foundation of Buddhism from Xiniuhezhou to Nanzhanbuzhou, which was to transfer it from India to China. This was running away!

So the Journey to the West was not a great attack at all, but a great retreat!

"Ahem!" Tathagata Buddha coughed a few times and said, "You can't say that. If family members live together for a long time, they will naturally separate. The West was originally the home of Indian Brahma, so it's not convenient for us Buddhists to stay here for long!"

"Red flowers, white lotus roots, and green lotus leaves, the three religions were originally one family. The Human Religion, the Orthodox Religion, and the Demonic Religion were originally one family. The Indian Brahma religion and Buddhism were naturally also one family. Since the three religions can all stay in China, why can't your two religions both stay in the West?" Liu Xu asked back. Oh!

"The West is barren!" Tathagata Buddha immediately used his own Bodhi Patriarch's tricks, "The West cannot support so many people..."

"Nonsense, do you think I don't know that India is all plains and can easily produce three crops a year?" Liu Xu rolled his eyes.

"..." The Buddha was silent for a while, then said, "It is precisely because the West can harvest three crops a year without farming, so Westerners are lazy. The annual harvest is only enough for one person to live, so the West is poor!"

"..." Liu Xu stopped talking. There was nothing he could do. What the Buddha said was the truth and it was difficult for him to refute it.

"Forget it, my Tathagata Buddha, I only ask one thing, that is, from now on don't even think about spreading Indian Brahmaism in the author's world, or if you want to spread it, just spread your Buddhism directly, what do you think?" Liu Xu said seriously.
