Chapter 1165 Night Talk

Chapter 1165 Night Talk
In the laboratory.

The Emperor operated the instruments, examined the Primarchs' hair, and inferred their growth conditions.

Qin Mo sat aside, watching quietly and waiting.

It seemed that the Primarchs were in very good condition. The Emperor took a look at the examination report and put it down without even mentioning the Primarchs' condition.

"Do the wings of Sanguinius look strange to you?" The Emperor sat opposite Qin Mo and took out two drinks.

"It's a bit weird, but as I said before, he is a determined man, so it doesn't matter even if he has wings." Qin Mo said.

The Emperor nodded and took a sip of his drink.

Qin Mo could hear the sound of bubbles bursting in the emperor's mouth, but the emperor looked like he had just drunk a glass of water, with no expression on his face and no ripples.

This isn't cool enough.

Qin Mo picked up the carbonated drink and drank it all in one gulp.

"what--"

"belch!"

Putting down the drink cup, Qin Mo looked at the emperor.

The two looked at each other for a moment, and the Emperor drank the rest of the drink in the cup. Then he also let out a pleasant groan and then burped.

"When I first drank a carbonated drink, my reaction was the same as before." The Emperor looked at the drink cup. "In the 20th century, Orr and I were squatting in the trenches on Iwo Jima. The military supply ship delivered a box of Coke, and we each had a bottle."

"It was hot on Iwo Jima, as always, with blazing sun and bursts of artillery fire."

Having said this, the emperor raised his eyes and a slight smile appeared on his face.

"After the Battle of Iwo Jima, Or and I moved to other islands. At that time, I used my psychic powers to search the entire Pacific Ocean for the pilot who had crashed his plane."

"Then I will persuade the navy captain with Orr to rescue the pilot."

"Then we'll send the pilot we find to the nearest aircraft carrier and exchange him for the chance to eat ice cream until we're sick in a restaurant."

"Because we saved so many pilots, Orr, I and all the Marines were allowed to go to the aircraft carrier to eat ice cream and drink Coke at any time."

When talking about this interesting past event, the emperor smiled even more, and it was obvious that he was reminiscing about it.

"I admired the Marine Corps medical soldier at that time. He was a very brave man. He didn't dare to kill anyone, but he dared to carry away the wounded under the fire blockade of the Type 92 heavy machine gun."

The smile on the emperor's face suddenly disappeared, and his tone became heavy.

"The grandson of that medic later became the head of the intelligence department. In the early 2000s, I stopped his heart from 20 kilometers away because he discovered that his grandfather's comrade-in-arms was still alive and well in the early 2000s and had even become his enemy."

Listening to the emperor's narration of the past, Qin Mo's gaze towards the emperor became increasingly profound.

He could probably understand why Erda and Orperson would not be killed or imprisoned, because they did have a complicated past with the Emperor and formed a human bond.

And the emperor does have a complex and colorful past.

Qin Mo thought for a moment and asked, "You and Orpesson later only played minor roles in history, instead of actively influencing history. You no longer influence humanity as much as you did when you were a carpenter's son, a savior, or a leader of ancient civilization."

"Yes, because I find that bad." The Emperor nodded. Then the Emperor talked about a past event that influenced his decision not to interfere too much.

"I also have a close friend, he is an ancient Greek, an immortal."

"He stubbornly believed that the descendants of Rome and Greece were the group that carried the civilization of his homeland, and he wanted to defend them."

"He helped the Eastern Roman Empire fight, and you know, he failed. Because he was targeted by an organization of immortals, and was stopped, and then he kept fighting against that organization until he was killed by a ritual dagger."

"At the time of his death, he asked me to do something for his civilization and culture."

“Because of his last wish, I helped the Greeks to free themselves from the Ottomans.”

"But I can only do this much, because I find that interfering too much in human history will lead to bad consequences, and I will be targeted by all kinds of strange forces."

After saying this, the emperor lowered his head, apparently remembering what he was doing, which was also a huge interference in history.

But he also has his reasons, which is that the survival of the human race is different from the survival of a group.

Qin Mo just listened until the Emperor asked a question: "If you were born as ancient as I am, what would you do?"

"I'll do anything." Qin Mo said, "If I was born in ancient times, while you and Orperson were fighting in the trenches of Iwo Jima, I would be fighting on the other side of the earth."

The Emperor nodded.

Both were silent, but both felt that their relationship had improved during this heart-to-heart talk.

Qin Mo also wanted to hear about the emperor's past.

But after the Emperor drank another drink, he asked a question: "If we add your strength, can we cut off Sanguinius' wings together?"

"If you hate Sanguinius' wings, why don't you delete this gene in the embryonic stage?" Qin Mo asked.

"I tried, but Sanguinius was born with wings," said the Emperor. "It cannot be done by Warp means."

"I don't think I can cut off the wings." Qin Mo ended the topic.

The Emperor nodded and sighed, "What a shame. Sanguinius' wings make him look nothing like a human."

"You are so obsessed with the fundamentalist human race, so why did you sit back and watch the human genes being changed into what they are today during the Golden Age? Why didn't you restore the human genes to their primitive stage?" Qin Mo asked.

"I'm not that fundamentalist." The Emperor shook his head. "The genes of primitive humans are precious because they are primitive. Their value in scientific research and collection is infinite. But from a practical point of view, the genes of primitive humans are not strong enough. Humans still have to evolve, whether passively or actively."

"But no matter how they evolve, humans still look human, just like you and Malcador look the same as any other mortal."

"For example, the characteristic of the human group you belong to is that the skull capacity is a little larger. In this respect, you and your general named Nagase Ken are the same. Even though one of you has primitive human genes and the other has modern human genes that have been heavily modified and enhanced."

The Emperor gestured with his hands to form the shape of a head, and then said the key point: "The key point is that no matter what the genes are, at least there will be no huge difference in appearance, but Sanguinius has wings. No human has wings."

At this point, the Emperor lowered his voice and said very seriously: "You and I both know what kind of people grow wings. Mutants, yes, mutants."

"Mutants." Qin Mo said in a deep voice, "You once said that you can tolerate human subspecies such as cat-headed people and beastmen, but you can never tolerate the existence of mutants. You actually think Sanguinius is a mutant?"

The Emperor nodded.
