Happy people from Blue Star

Step 5 of Chapter 1 Breaking the Game

Chapter 5 The first step to breaking the game

A middle-aged butler led Hardy into the living room of the castle.

The fat lord Virginia was talking to a man who looked like a merchant.

The butler pointed to the corner, and Hardy walked over, waiting patiently.

About half an hour later, the two people over there finally finished talking, and the butler led Hardy to the fat man.

This fat man is in his prime, about thirty years old.

He looked Hardy up and down for a while, then laughed: "I haven't seen you in a few years, you've grown up."

Hardy stepped forward, bowed and saluted, and said, "It's been a long time, sir, you are still so funny."

"You can only praise me for being funny." The fat lord waved his hand indifferently: "Actually, I want to hear you praise me for being handsome."

Hardy raised his head and smiled wryly: "Your Excellency, you can't let us speak against our conscience."

"Hahahaha!" Virginia patted her fat thighs several times before continuing to laugh: "I haven't seen you in a few years, but your personality is much more cheerful, not as gloomy as before. This time you took the initiative to find me because of your father's affairs."

Virginia knew about old Hardy's disappearance.

As one of the rich merchant families in his own territory, he actually has a lot of heart for the Hardy family.

It's just that old Hardy didn't disappear in Hexi Town, but in the land of other lords. It's a pity that he couldn't go there to investigate.

"No, I will find a chance to deal with my father's matter." Hardy raised the box in his hand and said, "This meeting is to send a gift to Your Excellency, in return for your care for our Hardy family over the years."

"Gift."

The lord signaled, and the middle-aged butler stepped forward, took the box in his hand, opened it, checked it, and brought it to the fat lord.

"Title deed?" Virginia picked up the parchment inside, flipped through a few sheets, and said with a weird expression, "It's a blacksmith shop. This is the most profitable property of your Hardy family. Give it all to me?"

"If you can't keep something, keep it in your hands, it will only cause trouble."

Virginia nodded: "Very well, I've taken on this matter, you gave me a big gift for nothing, what else do you want?"

Virginia still has some understanding of what happened in his own territory, and he is very clear about what it means to send these blacksmiths here.

The troubles at Hardy's house seemed to him like two ants fighting.

He had long been interested in Hardy's blacksmith shop, but due to his status as the lord, he didn't want to make things so extreme, so he didn't make a move.

But this doesn't mean that he won't be angry when people outside come to his territory and grab what he likes.

Hardy knelt down on one knee and said, "I hope to become a retainer of the Virginia family, a brave and loyal knight, and fight for this sacred territory."

When Virginia heard this, she burst out laughing: "That's right, the Hardy family finally has someone who understands. If your father had understood earlier and was willing to accept my recruitment, how could such a thing have happened."

Hardy could only smile wryly.

Then Virginia stood up, and although he was very fat, he walked like a dragon and a tiger.

The butler next to him immediately brought a ceremonial sword inlaid with gems.

Virginia took it backhanded, took a beautiful sword flower, and then pressed the sword on Hardy's left shoulder: "I, the Earl of the River and Creek, and the Red-haired Lion Family, Virginia VI hereby announce that I will bestow the status of Knight on Hardy's eldest son. Gods witness, the Virginia family and the Hardy family will become the most loyal friends and relatives of each other!"

Hardy raised his head and smiled and said, "The gods bear witness. From now on, the Hardy family will always support Virginia VI's legal rule here. His friends are the Hardy family's friends, and his enemies will be the Hardy family's endless targets."

"Very good! I feel your enthusiasm." Virginia took back the sword she used for the ceremony, and handed it to the butler next to her: "According to the usual practice, you will be able to form an army of up to 100 people, and you will get a small territory of your own. Now there are only three 'ownerless' lands left in my territory."

The middle-aged butler brought a parchment map from the side.

Virginia pointed to the top: "You choose one."

"This forest." Hardy pointed to the edge of the river.

"But there's a group of troublesome mountain people there."

"I'll find a way to deal with them."

Virginia was a little surprised: "You have really changed a lot. As far as I know, you have always been not very confident, and you only circled around the beautiful daughter of the Mint family. But now, I only see a strong knight."

"Thank you Lord for your compliment."

"Generally speaking, I still took advantage." Virginia rolled up the parchment map: "So I can give you a promise, as long as you can wipe out those troublesome mountain people within three years, I can give you the title of Baron and have the matching real power."

A knight is not a real noble, but a kind of honor. It is actually quite embarrassing to be between a noble and a commoner.

Only those who have obtained the title are the real nobles.

Hardy straightened his expression and said seriously: "I will not let you down, Your Excellency the Lord."

"Very good." Virginia patted Hardy on the shoulder: "The letter of appointment will be delivered to your home before evening, now...get together with your friends and celebrate your new identity."

Came out of the castle in Virginia and rode home in a carriage.

Along the way, Jack hesitated to speak several times, but finally held back.

Because he felt that Hardy's expression was very 'calm', as if something happened, but nothing happened.

He didn't know what the little master was asking for by giving away the most profitable business in the family.

I don't know if it was successful or not.

If the little master didn't say anything, he didn't dare to ask.

After returning home, Hardy shut himself in his study, thinking quietly.

In the 'game history' he knows, there is no role for Hardy.

There are only three famous people in Hexi.

The Brave Ryan, the Holy Maiden Karina, and the Benevolent Lord Virginia VI!
In other words, the Hardy family was 'disappeared' before the three of them became famous in the world.

What caused it, no one knows.

Because no one will care about an unknown little man, and he is still a dead little man.

The disappearance of 'Father' and troubles at the blacksmith's shop are just the beginning.

Enemies will soon be on their way, and the Hardy family faces a dead end.

Now the first step to break the game has already been taken, and he has obtained the status of knight.

It is imperative to form your own army.

Without strength, no matter how much money you have... it's just fish on someone else's chopping board.

And those mountain people are the best source of soldiers at this stage.
